This is not a shoe for someone with a thin foot: you need to tighten the strings to cinch it up and that puckers the toe a bit. Otherwise, a pretty and robust shoe.

I need something for very high arches. I took a chance that this hiking shoe would support my arches but it doesn't. I barely felt any arch support except on the inside arch area, which wasn't much. I loved the look of the shoe but ultimately my feet won't be happy if I keep them.

These shoes fit my feet well, do not rub or pinch anywhere & are incredibly lightweight. I am returning them, however, because whenever I would try them on & walk around inside the house or stand at my computer station, I felt like I just wanted them off my feet. After standing for a few minutes, my heels ached - a lot. Plus, they are not particularly stylish - kind of boxy looking on the foot. I really wish these would have worked for me!

Great hiking shoe and I had to hike a couple times in order to break them in properly. After a ten mile hike I felt discomfort but who wouldn't. I got an 8.5 but I think I should I have gotten an 8. Hopefully the size will be helpful with thicker socks in the winter.

These shoes are great for what I need them for but they definitely do need to be broken in a little.

Love this hiker, great support and comfortable from the first time wearing! I give it only 4 stars because the right shoe makes an odd noise (when walking). My husband has a pair of Merrill's (different style) and one of the shoes also makes noise when walking. I've also come across reviews with similar issues. I'll keep the shoes but find the noise a bit annoying...

I wanted to love these, but they were too big on my feet. Returned.

I'm a long time Merrell fan. My old Merrells were getting loose and not very supportive so it was time to replace them. This is my first time with this particular model. I like everything about the fit and style, and they seem dry enough, though I haven't tested it in really wet conditions. The only problem I've found is this strange clicking sound that one of them makes when I walk, maybe in the heel?. I'm still waiting for it to go away or get walked out. I'm guessing it's an individual glitch or some air in the rubber.

I loved this shoe! It was so comfortable, it's like your feet are being snuggled. The traction was great, I could walk miles and miles in these shoes and be confident that my feet are supported in every way needed and then some. One issue for me is that the tongue is long and brushed up uncomfortably against the front part of my leg. Another issue is that the toe box was too narrow for me and the the next size up was too large (and still too narrow). I hope they make this shoe in a wide, I'd buy a half dozen just to keep.

This would have been my 3rd pair of Moab Hikers over mannnnny years. These have been wonderful in performance, comfort and durability. As it's time to replace my old favorites, I ordered the current version of the Gore-tex Moab Hiker. I'm returning them and will try another pair, hoping that my extreme discomfort with these is a defective shoe! The current version of Moab has a "bellows tongue". I love the concept. In practice, the shoe tongue is unbearable for me. There is a fold in each side of the attached tongue to keep debris out. It's a wonderful idea, yet in both of my shoes the fold created a stiff, pointed piece that digs into the top of my foot. After keeping them for a few weeks and trying them on repeatedly in the hope that it would soften, I have to admit I can't keep them. However, as both Merrell shoes in general and the Moab hiker have always been great shoes, I'm trying another pair to see if I can get my old favorites in a new condition.

A great sturdy hiking shoe. Sadly, the fit was not as other Merrell's I've tried. I felt like the back of my foot was slipping in and out of the shoe, but going down a size would have been too tight.

Love that this is a low rise hiking shoe, as have trouble with higher boots chafing at the ankles. Offers good support and traction. They come with rounded contour laces, which are more apt to come untied in my experience, as one did when I took these out for first walk, but that is easily exchanged. Always love my Merrells.

Love the shoe but had to order up a half size. Will only buy gore-tex treated hiking boots. Waterproof boots don't breath and make my feet sweat.

Awesome shoes. I love them. I wear them to work almost every day and they are great. Very comfortable and my feet feel relaxed and welcomed in these shoes. I can't figure out how water proof they are yet...i didn't walk that much in wet conditions.

It was a nice looking shoe, but the toe compartment was too large. I noted others commented on the large toe compartment and didn’t mind it, but I found it bothersome. I didn’t feel I was getting the nice supportive fit that I expect from Merrell, even with thick socks. The length felt the same, but I felt that my toes were ‘flopping around’ in the shoe. It looks like a quality shoe, but the large toe compartment made it a no go for me, I am returning. I sure hope this isn’t going to be typical of Merrell hiking shoes now.

Comfortable right out of the box. But, a bit wider toe box than my previous Merrells.

I purchased these gore-tex shoes for a trip to South America based on reviews of their comfort and water-proof qualities. I found them to be not quite waterproof as water seeps through the seam of the inside lining. Also, the lining was not sewn properly on one shoe where the shoe tongue is attached to the shoe. It is lumpy and very irritating on the top of my foot. The toe box is very wide but the heel feels narrow and a bit tight. For the price I paid, I am Very Disappointed.

I am disappointed my new Merrell Moabs are not as comfortable as my old pair. There is far less padding in the construction of the shoe under the whole footbed. I had to add a footbed liner.

These are great shoes IF they didn't make noise when you walk! I returned the first pair because of a squeak in toe area when you walked so I get another pair and only 1 shoe makes noise this time but now it sounds like you've step on a bag with air in it! These may have to go back again...something is wrong with the soles on these shoes!

These shoes look great and are very sturdy. The left shoe fit perfectly fine. Unfortunately the right shoe seemed to be too big. My heel kept slipping out of the right shoe even just wearing them around the house. This has never been an issue for me with any other shoes. I will have to return.

I wear lighter weight Merreells in warmer weather...and it is still warm in Michigan. I wanted a warmer shoe for winter hiking and hope these will work but they are HEAVY and so STIFF.

I have a narrow foot and these boots were very wide. There was very little arch support which made the shoe very uncomfortable.
