Very light outer gear for the cold weather. Feathers come out easily which can be itchy for me. Also, the fabric does make noise. Other than that, it keeps me warm and it works well as a causal or business/casual outer wear.

This is a very nice lightweight but warm coat. What I love most about it is the length. I'm 5'5" and it goes to my knees so will keep my thighs warm and when I sit down goes half way down the back of my thighs. I wish they made down parkas that went to mid calf to the top of my boots so all of my legs would stay warm. Regarding size, I marked it as "poor fit" because in the medium it's a bit tight in the chest area although loose enough in the hips and I have fairly wide hips. I wanted more room in the torso so I could wear layers so I originally bought a large but it was enormous with arms that were way too long so I returned it and bought the medium. It would be a good fit if it were a little looser in the chest. The material is soft and silky outside and inside with a soft fleece-like lining on the inside of the collar. It has a good hood. I have yet to see how much rain the water repellent material will repel. Although it is fitted and has contoured quilting I still look a bit like the Michelin Man. I think that's because the rows are still pretty large and it is a little bulky. Still it's more flattering than down jackets of the past.

Great coat for mild winters. Medium weight with hood. I used the size helper. It suggested an XL. I wear a size 12, and am 5'9". Once I tried it on its a bit big, but I decided to keep it. I'll be able to wear layers underneath. The length is great.

I really like the color and the fact that it is lightweight. Unfortunately it is not as warm as I hoped. I live in Chicago and when it was 30 degrees outside I was cold. I was also disappointed with the design. One of the features that I read that prompted me to buy this coat was the design was supposed to add a more contoured design around the waist for a more flattering fit. I have not found the contour.

I use this coat for going outdoors in the winter and running errands. It's incredibly warm and comfortable, although it does restrict movement a bit. I'm debating about trying a larger size.

I love this coat. It does shed down but it is not terrible. It is so warm and easy to dress up or dress down. The cost originally deterred me from it, but at the end of the day that coat is going to last me years and it is an investment! Worth the cost!! Wisconsin winters are bitterly cold and long- I found a coat that can make them more manageable!!

This is my first investment in a down jacket and despite difficult zippers, I really am quite happy with the purchase. The color is beautiful and the fit is nice. The length might be a little long (I'm 5'5), but it does lend itself to keeping more of my legs comfortable in chilly temps. Overall, I would highly recommend this jacket in cold weather climates.

I use this product daily, walking to and from work. Only down side is all the feathers poking out of the quilting.

I decided to invest in a longer down coat this year, and boy, and I thrilled I did! I needed a larger size than what most folks carry, so I was thrilled to see The North Face offered some. It's been a particularly frigid winter in the Northeast this year, and my coat has seen a lot of action. I am thrilled to say it has kept me quite comfortable. I'd highly recommend.

Bought this coat for my daughter to take to college in the North East. Very light weight and stylish. Even though it feels like you're wearing nothing it is very warm. My only complaint is that the feathers start coming out after one wear. I will be contacting North Face about this as this should not be happening to a coat at this price.

I ordered a medium because of the option on the website that asks you questions to see what size you should get, which I loved. Unfortunately, it was wrong. I wish I would've gotten the small.

I wear this coat every day whether it is commuting to work or on the weekends out and about with the kids. It works great when I am in the car too because of the dual zipper.

I absolutely love this jacket! I was concerned that the price was not going to be worth it for this jacket but I was surely mistaken. It is so warm and great to have during these winter months. It is cute and stylish but more importantly it is super functional. Definitely recommend investing in this jacket, you won't be disappointed!

I had my eye on this coat for years and finally bought one about 2 years ago. It is by far my favorite winter coat I've ever owned. It's the perfect length, comfortable, lightweight, looks great, and is very warm. That said, it does shed feathers.. not a ton, but a regular trickle of tiny feathers seems to be happening at all times. My black fabric drivers seat is covered with downy bits by the end of winter. It would be great if North Face could resolve this issue.. if so, I'd definitely consider buying another in the future. Overall, the shedding doesn't bother me too much simply because I love the coat. I'd probably still recommend, but with caution.

Just received this coat, I wish the hood was a bit larger around the face and head. But I love the length and color and wish there were more pockets in front. I had another Northface Parka that has the pockets on the front and side pockets so I went from four pockets on a coat to now only two. I also like how the inside pocket is not super deep where items fall way down. It's a different style so I will give it a try, I think it will take time to get used to.

I ultimately decided not to keep it as it was just a little bulkier looking due to the off-white/silver color. It's a beautiful color, true to fit, seemed very sturdily made and warm. I learned from talking to others that an off/white coat isn't necessarily to be feared. I chatted with a few people who had them for years/wore them while commuting and didn't need to wash them too often. This is a great coat, it just wasn't quite right for me in terms of how it looked on me in this particular color and style.
