I really, really wanted to like this coat. I was looking for a coat that would stand up to below freezing temps and wind and since this was a very long, down coat, I thought it would fit those needs. The coat has several positive points. The length and style are great. The down fill is lightweight and comfortable. I'm 5'5" and the coat hits me mid-calf, which is exactly what I wanted. I normally wear a medium in The North Face, but the medium was too tight in the shoulders for me, so I ordered a large. The large fit well and was very comfortable, but the coat had some other flaws that I couldn't overlook for the price. Since it's a long down filled coat, I expected it to be a coat designed for very cold weather. I guess I was confused about what weather the coat is designed for. I tested it for temperature on my porch in 28 degree weather (no hat, scarf, or gloves - just the coat and normal winter clothes). There are no sleeve cuffs. This allows cold air to go straight up the sleeves if you are not wearing gloves or mittens. The hood is not deep enough to block wind or cold air on your forehead. The collar is wide and the hood snaps on to the coat (it's not attached with a zipper like other TNF jackets), so cold air can leak in, even with the hood pulls adjusted. If the coat were cheaper, I could justify keeping it with these flaws. However, for the price, I couldn't justify keeping it with the cold air leaks.

The coat is exactly as described. Fit is good and the extra length is great. My daughter has a North Face jacket and regular length cost as well as other North Face clothing - this is a wonderful addition to her collection. Because of the quality and durability of her other North Face items purchasing this was a no-brainer!

I ordered this jacket for my daughter in college in Minnesota. She LOVES it. Usually she's S in North Face but this one was a bit bigger so we exchanged it for XS. Fits perfectly and is warm enough for the snowy and cold Minnesota winters :)

Great for sitting outside watching football and soccer games

I thought it as too "thin" when it arrived in the mail, but it is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT and AMAZINGLY WARM even though it is lightweight!

I was happy to see this go on sale, as it's not so easy to find coats this length that aren't overly bulky. This one is warm enough for New England winter and light enough that I don't need a backpack to tote it around.

When I first received coat, I thought wow how can a jacket this Light possibly keep me warm. However after wearing it proved me wrong. It's perfect. The length is awesome. I like the fact that it zips from the top & bottom.

I bought this coat so that I will be comfortable attending events as a spectator in cold, blustery weather - from a Halloween parade in the fall to a lacrosse game on a cold, windy night in late winter, and any event in between.

What a comfy full coverage coat! Bought the full length one to help keep me dry on our Alaskan vacation coming up.

Just the right weight and long enough to cover your legs super great quality

I LOVE THIS JACKET! I'm 5'2" and was a little worried it would be too long on me but it isn't! It hits the middle of my calves. Just perfect! I get cold easily so I wear this everywhere.

I get cold very easily and wanted to get a parka for the winter. This one was PERFECT! I love the length and it fits my body perfectly with plenty of room for layering. I would buy this coat again!

I am 5'6", 135lb and evenly proportioned. Ordered the New Taupe /Small. SO HAPPY with this purchase! How many coats keep your knees warm! I live in the PNW and it is dead middle of winter. I've worn this on many walks, day and night time. I have not been cold once. Sheds a little. Normal amount/ 2 weeks of heavy wear. Love that the zipper moves from the bottom as well. I put my ski shell over it and it is a great base-layer that also keeps the tush warm on the lift! Being that it's light and down filled, it doesn't look bulky under the shell. The only complaint is that the embroidered logo is same color as jacket and can barely see it.
