I bought this coat for myself and ordered another for my mother. It is lightweight, so was worried it wouldn't be warm enough for the dead of winter, but it definitely is.

I would use this product for everyday use. I live in MN so we have winter pretty much year round, lets be honest here.

I love this coat! I purchased it primarily for a trip to an area with below zero temperatures and it kept me warm the entire time! I looked so cute in all of the pictures we took, too! The coat is definitely stylish and doesn't make you look too large or too bundled! Another plus - it is very easy to walk in! Thought it is longer, it doesn't restrict your movement at all, so I was able to tour outside all day long and not have any problems! It is very light-weight, so it was easy to travel with on airplanes. I can't wait to wear this coat at home! I am so happy with my purchase!

Simply stated - I love this coat. It's incredibly warm and comfortable. The length is great for keeping you warm all over which was exactly what I was looking for. It's functional and cute because the cut of the coat keeps it from looking bulky like some warm coats can do. I've never been disappointed by North Face. I got the black so it would match everything.

The coat looks nice and it is thin enough to fold easily, but that means it doesn't end up being very warm. The material also doesn't breathe well, which surprised me in a north face coat, but this is just a regular coat, not their performance line, so I should have thought of it. It is difficult to unzip the bottom of the coat if you want to be able to move your legs to jump up into a truck or such - it was also rather disturbing because I felt trapped (don't wear this next to a bonfire). That said, it is an attractive coat made from a nice material, I compared it to an LLBean coat and it is much prettier and basically as warm (the LLBean ultra warm had a weird issue with manufacturing not stuffing part of the arm properly). If this coat had a better solution for the bottom and were warmer, I would have loved it. Size up if you want to wear a bulky sweater, which you'll need on cold days.

The most I've ever spent on a winter coat but the best value ever- this is so warm and comfortable and not bulky or heavy at all. Highly recommend!

My TNF Coat wardrobe is complete.! Best Brand for outerwear. I finally have my long TNF. Tried since last winter to get this beautiful coat in my Size! I chose the grey. Love the color! Different than all my black TNF, will like perfect with all color hats too! The coat is just perfect ! Long, but, light weight. Hate heavy coats. Hood is perfect , coat completes my New Jersey winter needs! Arrived just in time for snow starting soon! Zappos you Rock! Coat arrived in one day!!!! No one can beat Zappos for fast delivery !!!! As for sizing. I am a size ten. 5ft 4. I chose to Size up in this brand. XL. Is perfect fit as I have long arms.

I love this coat. bought it a month ago. it was -4 this week i wore it with a shirt underneath and was really warm. good length of sleeves. zipper ok not perfect. and looks realy good.

I love this coat!! I bought it last winter and can't wait to break it out this coming season! It is light weight and warm, not too heavy to wear in the car when driving. The length gives great shelter from the wind and snow as this parka comes to top of my boots, blocking out the elements. The only down-side is that this jacket in not water-proof...can't fault the manufacturer, I knew this at the time of purchase. So pleased with this product, I have my eye on a shorter "car coat" length parka in a different colour...

This coat is comfortable and warm without the bulk. The hood helps against wind.

I have been wanting this coat for a couple of years because of its length and the styling. It is classic, lightweight and very comfortable. When it went on sale I quickly ordered it. It wont be leaving my closet.

Best cold weather

I'm a school teacher and need to be outside with my students during recess. I also have to help with bus line after school. Living in Michigan demands a warm, comfortable, long coat in the wintertime! I love my new coat. It was a gift and I highly recommend it!

I have been waiting for just this coat. I received a jacket with an attached hood as a gift from my husband for Christmas. That eas sent back and i waited for this coat and was do happy to see it on line. The winters here in the northeast have been bad and U wanted a long, warm coat for work. Love the color and cut. It is so light and comfortable. The hood snaps on in a few seconds if needed. I have not spent a long time outside with it on yet but it is perfect for my needs. i love this coat!

I have a variety of cold weather coats for skiing and other activities. However, when walking my puppy in cold weather I wanted very lightweight, long to keep me warm, and windproof. This coat is a great grab and go! With housebreaking, I am out every two hours, and it has been freezing and snowing---I have been very pleased. Also--paw prints wipe right off!

We have a cabin in Montana, cold winters and windy. Looking forward to wearing it this winter.

The lower part of the coat is very wide, but I love North Face clothing.
