Really bummed about having to return these. I have always loved ASICS and always find myself re-purchasing the brand but the sizing was way off on this shoe. The look and overall support are awesome features, but the toe box is just way too narrow.

Wanted to love these, style is okay but arch support was nonexistent, a surprise from Asics. Really wanted to love these like I have loved previous iterations, but had to send them back because I need the arch support.

I loved gk20 and gk21. I had to order a size and half larger than my normal size because they changed the sizing to be smaller or as I've read here, the toe box is smaller. They feel like bricks and it took me weeks to break them in. Wish I would have sent them back! I used to love Gel Kayanos so my advice to ASICS is bring back the old design.

Way too narrow in the toe box. Love my Kayano 22s, but these are much too narrow in the toe box. I feel sizing up would not solve the problem. Returning!

This shoe in my normal size was way too tight. Killed my toes. I tried for two days and could tell there was no stretching out the toe box. I went up a half size and that solved the toe box issue but the shoe is a little loose. Asics really needs to work on the toe box.

This shoe is such a tease. I tried my size (M-9) and it was too small, too narrow. I reordered a 9.5 which I thought might be okay but after wearing them in the house for a few hours they hurt the ball of my foot. I'm sending them back. I give up with this one. So disappointing.

I agree with previous reviews that the toe box is much smaller in this shoe but the length is fine so going up a 1/2 size will not fix the issue for me. I wish I had returned them when I first received them.

For a B it was narrow

If you own a previous pair from past iterations of the Gel-Kayano series, you should know that the toe box has gotten smaller in comparison. Despite an older edition fitting perfectly, these shoes did not fit at all, due to this.

Nice shoes but the fit is too snug.

The toe box on the Kayano 23 is very narrow. I had to order a wide. Also, the quality of the #23 seems cheap compared to previous models that I've owned and loved. Fortunately, the new Kayano 24 is more like the older models!

I normally wear an 8.5 in the ASICS Gel-Kayano (style 20). These AGK 23s size 8.5 are extremely small and tight across the toe and feel a bit shorter in length so my toe hits the top and front of the shoe, which never used to happen. I had the same problem with the Gel Nimbus but in those the 9 was also very small.

I have worn Kayanos for years. Size 8D always fit perfectly, with plenty of toe room. But not this pair. As other have reviewed, they are at least a 1/2 size smaller, and narrower in the toe box. I ordered the next size up, they haven't arrived yet.

These are so cute and so cushy but too narrow. I need a wide to make them work.

I'm so disappointed in the Gel-Kayano 23. I have been wearing the Kayano for several years (7-8, maybe) and have loved them. Unfortunately, this iteration is much narrower, particulary in the toe box, than previous Kayanos and does not feel comfortable. I need to return them and start a new quest to find a comfortable pair of athletic shoes. Darn.

The fabric on this shoe is gorgeous. I've tried 11.5, 12, and 12.5 in order to alleviate the problem with downward pressure on my big toes. None did. I'm so disappointed. 12.5 is too long, and the big toe pressure is still there. Other than the downward pressure on the big toe, this shoe is wonderful.

I liked the look of these shoes and they felt very supportive, but they also felt very clunky and heavy to me. So I ended up getting a pair of Brooks Launch 3 instead.

Wider than the kayano 22 but still snug.

I've always loved ASICS. I severely over-pronate and these shoes always felt good and gave me good support. However, the shoe is now shorter and narrower. I read the reviews and ordered a half size larger, but my toes are still hitting the end of the shoe. I'm going to try an additional half size larger and a wide, but I'm very disappointed that ASICS changes this shoe.

Like other reviewers mentioned this model does run at least a half size smaller. I went ahead and ordered the shoe because I generally order a half size up for shoes that do not come in wide, hoping that this compensation will also help with the smaller shoe. I ordered my usual 9 and it fit like a glove. I could see the outline of the contours of my feet even though I had loosened the laces as much as I could to make them comfortable. I did wear them around the house to check on the support and cushion and can say that if the sizing was correct, I would have definitely kept the shoes. I could feel the support to decrease overpronation and the insoles also did a great job with absorbing impact. Unfortunately I will have to return these shoes. I think ordering a half size up for me will only make the shoes too long to wear. I considered keeping them and wearing them as walking shoes until they stretched out some but I don't want the long wait for to damage my feet/the shoes trying to stretch them out. Hopefully when ASICS comes out with #24 they will be sized correctly and I'll be sure to purchase those.

Just a heads up that the 23 has a much smaller toe box than prior versions. Back it went!

I wear a 5 1/2 or 6 narrow in a regular shoe and a 7 in sneakers. I've worn older models of this sneaker in a narrow and they fit perfectly. I had to return these for the B width because they were way too tight on my foot.
