I have worn gel kayano for years but the toe box is now made too narrow, even in the wide width. Unfortunately these will go back.

I should have listened to the other reviews. I have been wearing Asics for years. THESE ARE THE WORST FITTING SHOE EVER! Nothing like the Gel Kayanos that came before them. Asics - please go back to the original formula. Narrow in the toe box and heel. Stiff. UNCOMFORTABLE. Very disappointed.

I have always bought Asics. I currently have 5 pairs, all 11.5. I bought this new pair and was very disappointed that they are too tight. Yet the same size. I will return for a 12. I hope they are not too big.

The toe compartment is toooo small. I felt the shoe constantly above both Big Toes. I returned the sneakers

I have worn Kayanos for years! I have always worn an 8. I ordered 2 pairs of Kayanos in different colors. After wearing them all day, my top of my toes had indentions from the toe area between squishy and the shoe being short for an 8. What is going on with Asics Kayano shoes?? I finally ordered a Brooks shoe in and 8. They were a perfect fit...like the Kayano used to be! Is this all due to Asics making this shoe in Vietnam? When they were made in the US, I never had this issue.

This shoe did not fit like the many gel kayano shoes I have had. It is tighter across the toe.

These are by far the WORST SHOES I HAVE EVER BOUGHT BUYER BEWARE!!!! If you want pins and needles, sore feet, burning feet, feel like you are wearing the cheapest shoes on the market by all means buy these shoes. Customer service from Asics is appalling as well as their 'new technology'. Shop around, there are much better shoes out there for half the price. Save your money!! New technology pffft..., rubbish! I will be throwing mine in the bin ($260) and buying something comfortable and durable.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks, Nike, Mizuno, anything other than Asics

As an experienced runner (35 years, 25+ marathons, up to 85 miles per week) I have run in virtually every Kayano since the 8s and loved most every one. Not so with the 23. I'm not sure if it's the reconfigured gel or perhaps the new FlyteFoam, but I found the ride so hard as to be completely unacceptablegone is the Kayano's characteristically plush ride. Like others, I also had problems with fit. I've got a small foot8 or 8.5 in a dress shoe and very narrow. I've never had a moment's trouble slipping into a Kayano size 9.5, but suddenly I'm finding the forefoot cramped. The size 10, on the other hand, feels too big to reasonably consider. I will give them credit for the redesigned upper which moves nicely with the foot, but my compliments have to end there. If you're new to the Kayano, you might not realize what you're missing, but as a long-time, loyal fan of this shoe, I found the 23 extremely disappointing and hope that Asics brings back the Kayano that we all know and love.

I've been running in the Kayano for almost 20 years, and with the exception of one or two versions where they switched to asymmetrical lacing, thought each was a vast improvement on the others. I'm an experienced runner and marathoner who runs high mileage, so I'd like to think I know this shoe, and I'll tell you, the cushioning on the 23 is just horrible. Maybe it's the new foam they're using. I don't know, but the shoe just has no give. I also agree that the toe box is far too narrow. I have a small straight foot, and I can't even fit into the shoe. I hope Asics will take notice and bring back the Kayano's great ride and fit.

I have been using kayano for a long time and think they are the best. Unfortunately I am so disappointed with the new kayano 23, they are too narrow on the toe, can't use them, waist of money

I have work these shows literally since the 2 or 3 version, and these are awful. I have been a runner for 20+ years and actually got a stress fracture in my right foot from the shoe. Please, Asics, if it ain't broke done fix it!

I have been wearing the Kayano for several years starting with the19. The 23 has a totally different feel. I now am scuffing my heels as I run and my feet and calves are tight after a run, even short mileage. The fit is also a lot tighter in the box. If Asics is going to change a shoe it should also change the name. This is not the Kayano that I am used to and loved!

I have worn Asics Gel Kayano's for over 12 years now and I cannot wear this shoe any longer. The shoe is now too narrow for my feet and caused me serious pain on my bunions. I hope they fix this problem and go back to the old version.

Too small in the toe area. I have worn Asic Gel Kayano's for over 5 years until last years 22 and this years 23 versions. They are too narrow in the toe box and the top of the shoe puts pressure on the big toe. The shoe also seems to made of cheaper materials. Have not been able to buy the 22 or the 23 style.

I tried this shoe because many runner recommended it. But upon further research, the newer style has a tight toe box. And when I say tight, I mean tight! You cannot move your toes at all. I even tried ordering this in Wide, but it was still so tight which is tough when running because feet would tend to swell some. I LOVED the style and color of the silver cockatoo, but that could not make up for the tight toe box. There was plenty of cushion which was very comfortable. This may work for someone with narrow feet.

I ordered these online, love the color...they are to narrow for me. Asics use to be the only shoes that worked for my feet; haven't found a pair that work for me to date. Sadly I will be returning these .

I lose circulation to my toes. The shoe is too tight at the toes. I hoped that I would 'wear them in', but after wearing them to the gym for a couple of weeks, my toes still go numb after a few minutes. I love Asics; I only wear Asics. But this is simply no good.

I've worn Asics gel Kayanos for years (like 12 years), but the last few pairs I barely wear because they have become so uncomfortable, even when I buy a full size up & choose wide (which I never used to have to do). So when the 23's came out, I figured I'd try again.....nope. Have now sent both sizes back for a refund. It's not about size (length) or width (the platform is wide enough), it's because they use so little material for the toe box & forefoot. I happened to see them next to my new favorites (Brooks Transcend), and they are a full 1/2" lower in the forefoot (height). Same with my Saucony's - Asics profile is lower. They make my toes want to cramp after a few minutes. Come on Asics, spring for some extra material. This is my last attempt at wearing Asics.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks, Saucony
