I have been buying this shoe for many years, for running. I was given them as a gift and since I have worn them so long, I figured the size would work for me. The toe box is painfully tight. I am going to have to find an older version of this shoe (or a different brand), to get the right fit.

I have been wearing narrow width asics for years, but these are uncomfortable by the big toe. Ordered same size as usual so something odd with design?

the fit sucks. it's like each shoe is a different size. just never had to adjust so much to make them right. and they still arent weeks later. maybe the new like fits differently (which woulbe pretty stupid)

I bought these right before Christmas , since I absolutely loved the 22's I thought these would be equal or better, but they're extremely narrow which makes them extremely tight fitting, so back they go, I searched for last year's 22's and found very few left, I ordered another 2 pair.

I bought this shoe because I saw it was touted as being the best shoe out there with a wide toe box, something I definitely need. I even ordered the wide just to be sure! Sadly, the shoes did not live up to expectations and I returned them. I'm sure they are perfectly serviceable if you don't need a wide toe box, but I do!

This used to be such a great shoe. I always wear 11 wide and every other Asics shoe and this is just too small for me especially in the toe box. It's almost painful to the point where it's hard to walk. I used to love gel Kayano but it seems as if every year the quality cuts back just a little bit more. I'm thinking about ordering a half size up but I think they will still feel tight even as a wide so I'll probably just return these. What a shame because the colors are very pretty.

I need a stability shoe for high mileage walking and running. I wore nothing but Asics for years, most recently alternating between the Kayano 21 and GT-2000 3. When the following generation of both did not work for me I made the switch to Brooks: Adrenaline GTS 15 (perfect fit, although they wore out quickly in comparison) and Ravenna 7 (disaster.) I am in desperate need of two new pairs and was delighted to see the Kayano 23 arrive, but what a disappointment. The toe box is so, so narrow, and the length is really short, too. I have always worn a 10 but would need an 11 for the first time ever. They feel very similar to the Ravenna that I had to give up before I hit 100 miles, and it's too much money to take a chance. I will anxiously await the GT-2000 5s.

I've been wearing the Gel Kayanos for a few years now & loved them. Unfortunately this version is very different from previous ones. It feels much tighter in the toe box and that seems to aggravate my arthritic toe. Also, the arch support does not feel as good as previous models. Disappointed because I really liked the looks of the new shoe, but the fit just does not cut it for me.

I was extremely disappointed in this shoe! I've worn Asics for years but the new design has a toe box too narrow for my foot. I hope Asics goes back to the original style.

I bought this running shoe for my 11 year old daughter. Her foot is narrow so despite the reviews that this shoe runs narrow I figured it would do well. I was surprised to find that the shoe was even too narrow for her thin foot. She runs XC and comfort is paramount.

I have been running with Kayanos for more than 20 years because of their quality, support, and performance. I am very disappointed about the changes in the 23. The small toe box is a problem for me too and the arch support is gone way down. Asics has changed a superior shoe into an average sneaker that can be found among many other brands for a much better price. Why did they have to mess with a good product is beyond me. Unfortunately the shoes have gone back. Serious runners better look elsewhere.

I bought the keyanyo 23 and couldn't try them for a few weeks because I was traveling. At first I thought they were okay but after wearing them all day, I had to take them off. Felt like my feet were swollen and my toes cramped up. Will return them when I'm back home. Disappointed.

Despite getting the wide width as other Zappos customers recommended, there is still something off with the front half of this shoe. Also too heavy to run 6.5 miles/hour pace with and not any better cushioning for the ball of the foot than the Mizuno I was supposed to be transitioning from. Was about to heave into the trash, but it appears to work ok for spinning class.

I loved the style and color of these shoes. I was VERY disappointed in the fit. I wore them in my kitchen for 3 hrs and my toes were so squished I had to take them off. The toe box is not only narrow from side to side but the top of the toe box is small as well. I can't figure out why Asics keeps producing shoes with narrow toe boxes when this seems to be the #1 complaint??? My foot is a medium so I thought I'd be alright. NOT!! Do not purchase these if you are wider than a AAA. I even ordered a full size larger than I wear in other shoes.

Gel Kyano 20 was my go to shoe for years. I had at least five pairs. The Gel Kayano 23 was more than disappointing. I ordered a half size up after reading reviews and still the shoes were way too small. I could barely get my foot into them. I don't know what Asics is up to but why fix something that isn't broken? I returned the shoes.

I love the Gel Kayano's but a few weeks after running in these, they gave me shin splints! From the beginning I could tell something was off about this shoe but wanted to give them a chance. The fit felt high around the ankle not supportive like my Kayano 22's. Hope this is just a bad line and the 24's are made old school like the 21/22s.

These sneakers are the most uncomfortable painful sneakers I have owned. The D width is tight through the toe box. I have worn Ascics sneakers for 20 st least 20 years. This is the first pair that hurt.

I love the Asics Gel Kayano and it is my preferred running shoe, but this runs way too small. I am a size 8.5, but I know in Asics I have to get a 9.5. However, these in a 9.5 were still too small. Disappointed because I liked the color scheme.

As a long time Gel Kayano fan I bought these expecting the same sort of fit as earlier models. That was not the case. The toe box is much snugger and made this model unsuitable for me. They appear to be well made, etc. but if you 're looking for the fit you've gotten used to from earlier versions this is not the shoe for you. Good news is that the Gel Kayano 24's have gone back to the traditional sizing.

I have the 23 and it is very narrow. Such a disappointment. I have been wearing Kayanos for my flat feet for the last 7 years. This one put a lot of stress on my toes that I had to stop running for few weeks.

Very, very disappointed with purchase. I read fantastic reviews, but once I wore the shoes for a full day I noticed how snug they felt. Obviously the pair I purchased were mislabeled because they were supposed to be an 8 and fit my mother who is a 7 narrow perfectly. Since they were already work, I assumed I couldn't return them and passed them along to her. Thanks for an expensive pair of shoes that we discovered were way too small to be the correct size and must have been mislabeled.

ASICS clearly does not believe in standard sizing. I wear 12 B in dress shoes and 13 B in other brands of athletic shoes. Several months ago I tried the Kayano and several other ASICS models in 13 B and they all had to go back. I decided to give them another try in 13 D, but they were still too short and narrow and are going back. If ASICS made size 14 I would probably give them another try because the arch support felt great. It would be better if they just followed standard sizing.
