These shoes look cute but run insanely small. normal 9 in Asics, the 9.5 crushed my toes

I hate what Asics has done to their shoes. I wore them for years and loved them. And now? Small toe box, less arch support -- simply uncomfortable. Hate. Can I say that again? Hate.

Sadly, as other reviewers have said, the toe box on this shoe is cut really small and/or strangely so that the shoe crushes the top of your toes. The flower pattern is so cute I ordered them despite the reviews hoping they were wrong, but no luck. The length of the shoe fits great and they don't feel narrow at all, and I got my usual 7.5. However, the crushing of the tops of your toes/toenail makes the shoes non-functional if you hope to wear them longer than an hour. It feels like the type of shoe that would cause your toenails to turn black and fall off after wearing them for a full day or trail walking. What a weird design. Too bad, the pattern is really pretty but they have to go back if they can't be worn since they are, after all ... shoes!

Way too narrow in the box toe. Very uncomfortable to wear. Have always worn this shoe, not sure what happened with this one.

I've worn the Gel-Kayanos for over 3 years so I'm seriously confused about what ASICS did to this shoe. I wear a size 11, one size bigger than my size 10 foot so I have extra room but the 23s felt like a size 9. I'm shocked and disappointed that they totally destroyed a great shoe.

Returning these, they are about a half size too small. Have worn Asics for years and have always been exactly a size 10 except for these shoes. Asics please go back to what you were doing before!

These shoes are very colorful and exactly what I wanted until I tried them on. I ordered up 1/2 size, but the toe box is extremely tight. My toes were jammed into the end of the shoe. The shoe was very uncomfortable on my foot, so unfortunately they were returned.

I've worn a lot of Kayanos. I wear a size 7 regular width in all shoes. This shoe was too tight for a normal running shoe in size 7 medium. I returned it.

I wanted to love these shoes! after visiting a local shoe store that fit me to a few shoes and I ended up choosing the Kayano in the end, based on the store recommendation, how it felt and it came strongly recommended to me by some members of my family. I wore the sneakers a minimum of 5 times a week from June 6th - July 9th, when I finally had to hang them up. I put anywhere from 15-25 miles on the sneakers per week in the few weeks I was able to wear them. During that time frame, I have experienced painful and debilitating blisters and I will also lose 3 of my toenails. My most recent blister was so unbearable, I had to stop wearing any sneaker to let them heal. I ordered the size I was fitted for by a professional, which is the same size shoe I've worn all my adult life. I've worn Asics for many years and haven't experienced this with any pair that I've owned previously. I've obviously had blisters in the past, but it was one or two and they healed up and it was never an issue. I'm experiencing several blisters, I've spent a lot of money on specialty blister band-aids, letting them heal and as soon as I put the shoe back on I'm experiencing the same problems again. I gave 1 star overall because of the problems they have caused with my feet, 4 stars for comfort because they did feel comfortable, at first, minus a tight toe bed.

This shoe is horrible! What did asics do? I've been wearing the kayanos for 7 years now. I have 4 pairs over the years. They are , actually, were an Excellent show. So I read the reviews I ordered half a size up and wide width. I usually wear a 9 with regular width. But even the wide width was narrow with again as everyone says, a narrow toe. BRING BACK THE OLD kayanos!! I got this pair on sale. I probably wouldn't have bought it even if it was on sale. I miss the old Kayanos like I miss the old Kanye... ð???

Ordered these in both 9 and 9.5. They run small. the right shoe was a half size smaller than the left . i have bought several pair of ASICS mostly for the wider toe box and the narrower heel. This style does not fit in a true ASICS fashion.

I have worn the Kayano for several years and loved it. The #23 however, is too tight in the toe box, as others have mentioned. I wanted it so badly that I felt I could go up a size or go to a medium width to compensate for the extremely tight narrow width. Neither of these solutions worked though, so I must unfortunately return all three pairs that I tried. I hope this will be changed in the new models to come out.

I've always bought this brand and model shoe and they worked well for me. Unfortunately these are so narrow and tight in the toe that I can't ware them and be comfortable. I am so unhappy with the fit that once worked for me.

Toe box too shallow, returned. I wear a 2A so selections is always limited. Don't like the pink.

ASICS PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BRING BACK THE WIDER TOE BOX THESE ARE AWFUL!!!! SPLIT MY TOENAIL ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE QUICK AND PERMANENTLY DAMAGED IT!!!! I'm switching to Brooks.

So sorry to say that my most favorite running shoe no longer works for me. This is the second size I tried and the toe box's depth is just too low. So long, ASICS Gel-Kayano. We had a good run for about 10 years! Time to try a new brand.

Too bad ASICS changed the design on this shoe. I've been using this style for many years and this model fits incredibly different. Too bad. I have to return these....hope the next size up fits.

The toe box in these shoes is way too tight. They make your toes go numb. I hoped they would stretch out, but they didn't.

I have to agree that the tow box is now too narrow. My feet/bunions ached so badly after wearing these for a run. They will not be worn again. I started wearing gel kayanos over ten years ago after I had a bad bout of plantar fasciitis. This shoe used to be amazing and I had pain free feet when wearing the old Kayano. Not anymore. Such a disappointment. I need a new shoe. Any recommendations?

LOVE the look, but they were SO uncomfortable - I've worn Ascis Gel-Kayanos for years and am really disappointed with the 23 series!
