This must be about my 6th pair of the Salomon X-Mission 3. They fit like a glove as soon as I take them out of the box. Great colors!

Just not a good fit for me, seemed narrow and stiff. Liked the style and color but not the feel!

I am a longtime Salomon wearer and have had three versions of this exact shoe. The model I just bought is almost a full 1/2 inch narrower in the toe box than the last one (and if that one was a little narrower than the previous one). If they are going to change the shoe that significantly, they should change the model name/number.

I'm not a runner anymore, but got tired of looking for cross-trainer shoes with enough support for classes like Insanity. I've now been wearing these about a month, and find them to be very comfortable and supportive in my strength training and Insanity classes. I wear them to class, and then around town afterwards. I think they look good, too! The shoe laces are non-tie...you loosen and then tighten the buckle by sliding it, then there's a little "pocket" to put the extra lace and buckle in. I wasn't sure I would like this feature, but now find it quicker and easier than regular laces. I'm pleased with my purchase! One reviewer posted pictures of the bottom of the sole becoming detached, and I thought I'd add that I probably would not choose to wear these to a class that had a lot of quick side-to-side movement.

I love these shoes. I ordered a half size down and the fit is perfect. These will be great on the trails. Stable with good grip.

This model of athletic shoes was not comfortable. The toe box was too narrow for my feet and the shoe itself did not have enough support and cushioning comfort for my feet. For anyone with metatarsal pain this is not the shoe for you. Also, I do not like the slip-on feature and the way the shoe laces had to be tucked into the shoe.
I'd also recommend:
Perhaps Asics sneakers would be more comfortable

I'm about to purchase my third pair of these Salomon X-Mission 3. I first bought them because I was looking for a good trail/long walking shoe that I could maybe use for running. I love love love my Salomon hiking boots and snowboard boots, so I figured these might be just as amazing. I have a torn ACL and these shoes keep me stable, comfortable, and pain free. Plus, my physical therapist loves them (bonus!). As for size, I wear a 7 in these, which is the same as my regular shoe size. I tried the 8 at first -- as I would with any other running/trail shoe -- and they were way too big. I'm so happy Soloman is still making these excellent shoes!

Would give this shoe five stars except Salamon has lowered the quality. I have had a few pairs and while I still love the color, style, fit and price was good too (on sale) they don't feel as sturdy as other pairs and I am sure they will not wear as good. Too bad. It has been a reliable favorite of mine for a long time and I'll still purchase them again but am a bit disappointed.

I like these a lot and was really on the fence about the lacing system but it’s solid. I got the lagoon color and it looks pretty much the same as it does on the screen. I love salomons- they make durable and comfy shoes.

Very supportive quality shoe. However the front right shoe had wrinkles in the soft material that was obvious. I figured it was a defect or not. I thought I’d try to wear them to see if the wrinkles would go away on their own if not send them back for the defect. Which is what I ended up doing.

I walk at least 125 miles a month and try to rotate 3 different pairs of shoes. My go to shoe is the Brooks Glycerin and I am in constant search of another one as comfortable. This shoe is not, BUT it is doable. Nice wide toe box. The lacing system already goes to the furthest lace so, in effect, heel lock lacing is in place and I did not have slipping on the heel. The shoe seems to come up higher on my foot above the arch than the Brooks and I'm not sure I like that, but it's ok. It is a stiffer shoe than the Brooks but not uncomfortable. Also seems to have a higher arch support than the Brooks but not uncomfortable. I did 5+ miles in them today for their first wearing and while my feet knew it by the time I got home, I think they will break in and be fine.

I have discovered that I have a drop foot ( over pronation) I have been back and forth trying to find the correct sneaker. sending back several and with very good support team helping me out at Zappo's. Finally I think I have found the correct shoe. The width seems pretty true to size. I ordered a 8.5 rather then my usual 8 with the advice of the orthodics doctor. The toe box seems comfortable and so far it seems to be working fine.

I'm between a 6.5 and 7. Both fit comfortably in the house but I kept the 7 to prevent my toes hitting against the front of the shoe when running. I run on pavement and a little bit on trails: this is my favorite running shoe. Heel feels really stable; I love the lacing system. I had the XR-Mission previously and wanted a similar pair. Would buy again.

I ordered these in a 9.5 and although they fit fine, they look GINORMOUS! Sending back immediately with thanks to Zappos's awesome free returns!

These are my favorite exercise shoes and the only ones I have purchased in the last 8 years (2 pair per year). I love the wide toe box and the Quicklace system. I usually put a pair of Superfeet in all my shoes, but the original insoles are acceptable.

I bought 2 sizes, my usual size 11 was much too small and tight and next size up a 12! was uncomfortable. Too bad because I like the style and ease of shifting from trail to street.

These shoes have a good amount of arch support, but I wouldn't recommend them if you already wear custom inserts. I wear a 7.5 in street shoes and 8 in sneakers and I was glad I didn't have to size up to accommodate my inserts. The shoes aren't too narrow and they have a really wide toe box as compared to other sneakers that tend to taper at the toes which isn't great for you when you run. Unfortunately, when I had them on and my inserts I had too much arch support so I had to send these back.

After wearing these shoes regularly for 6 months, a portion of the tread became separated from the bottom of the shoe. Because this is essentially a slip on shoe, the back upper part gets crushed down when you put your foot in and you have to dig it back out from behind. The cushion bed is good.

I have worn this exact shoe, size and style for the last 3 years having purchased 3 previous shoes. I was disappointed with the recent purchase as I felt the shoe ran short by a 1/2 size. I tend to supinate and this brand is the only walking shoe I have ever found that I have enjoyed after having purchased many different brands. I was therefore disappointed when I received this shoe. It is the exact size that I wanted and therefore did not return the shoe.

I bought the deep lagoon color and I LOVE these shoes. I trail run in them and they provide great support. Also very stylish. Thinking about buying a second pair already!

I have purchased Salomon X-Lite hiking boots in the past and was needing an all around active shoe to eliminate having to trudge the boots around on quick vacations. These shoes are extremely light weight and I don't even notice them on. They are true to size I am a 7.5. The tread makes me feel comfortable walking/running/skipping along on a quick jaunt or an extended low level hike in rain and shine. I haven't officially taken them trail running, but do not have a doubt they will take care of my needs. These shoes are fast drying as well - they accidentally took a dip in the ocean with me while kayaking. All I needed to do was rinse them off with fresh water and they were back to normal that evening. The only small remark on this shoe is that my arch (high) did feel a little sore the first couple days wearing them in a low-key environment (standing at work). I would not discourage anyone from buying them though.

I love my XR Mission originals- this version (3) runs small, toe box is more narrow and the heel base is also more narrow than the original. I need to reorder a half size larger and think narrowing the shoe overall is a big design error on Salomons’ part... why mess with perfection? But the biggest flaw in this design is narrowing the heel base- a wide heel base really helps stability over rough terrain.
