I love the Salomon X-Mission shoes and have been wearing them for several years. With heel inserts, they are good for my sensitive feet and I wear them for walking, hiking, and working out! The only problem I have had on my last pair is that the QUICK-LACE gizmo shattered and so one of my shoes can no longer lace up, after wearing only a few times. Will contact Zappos about the problem.

I like Salomons. There hold up to my 3-5 daily pavement walks in NYC. However this shoes slipped a bit in the heel and lacked the level of arch support thatI needed. Need a show with better support and fit.

This may be about my 7th or 8th pair
I try on other brands but they don't have an arch support, are flat and are high priced. I will say I go for the colorful ones no boring shoes for me the orange red colors hot pink combos please don't make boring colors. These fit and hit my arch just right so I keep coming back

I adore these shoes! They work great as walking/running shoes in cold and slippery conditions. The tread keeps me from slipping on icy trails and I couldn’t be happier with them (except now I have no excuses for missing a winter workout!)

I found that a half size bigger felt best for me. Love these shoes. They really helped with my foot pain, providing excellent support and lasting about 10 months before the treads wore down and I replaced them with the same pair.

I really like these shoes and their support. However, they definitely run narrow in the toe area. I could tell when I pulled the shoes from the box I was going to have trouble. I do NOT have a wide foot and if anything, I am narrow, and these pinched slightly on the pinky toes. These used to be designed with a wider toe box so I am not sure what happened with this style.

I have now owned 3 pairs of these shoes for hiking and trail running and I love them! I started with one pair for an entire summer working in Yosemite and hiking every day. I wore them every day for months, hiking an average of 8 miles a day before the nubs on the soles finally wore out and I gave into a new pair. The broad base feels like your ankles have help rolling back into alignment with a misstep and act to give great stability on uneven trails. The grip is unmatched and was fantastic with slippery granite, and the overall fit was perfect for my feet which often feel like my toes can be squished but wide shoes are too much. The cushioning on them combined with ditching road running for trail running has allowed me to get back into running again pain free and my dog and I couldn't be more thrilled!

Great fit!! These are my first salomons and I love them. Ran a muddy 4 miles the first time out and there was no break in period, they felt great. I have a wider foot and they felt snug but not too tight. Excited for many more trail runs in these. I’m curious about how the quick lace holds up over time but I’m optimistic from the reviews I’d read.

Love my Salomons w quick-ties. My only minor complaint is that the laces are too short so that they opening isn't quite big enough for easy donning of the shoe. Otherwise they are perfect!

These felt stable and strong. I am returning them because I just couldn't find the color I wanted, but I wish there were more options for color because the shoe felt great. It's a lower ankle support than the waterproof version, so they are more comfortable, stretchy in the toe bed and very stable and supportive.

These are my second pair of the X-Mission 3’s, I like the previous years colors better, but these have a generous toe box, excellent traction for trails or wet roads, etc. I wear them with yak tracks in the winter for runs. Love the unconventional lacing system, have never had a problem with them coming loose or breaking. Hope they keep offering these!

Salomon has made this shoe to have "less volume." I know this because I just called their Customer Support Team. I also held the new shoe up to the old one, and it's noticeably smaller. For the last several years, I have bought this shoe because it's roomy and can accommodate my foot. With this new "less volume" change, I can no longer wear this shoe. No, sizing up doesn't help. Sadly, I will no longer be buying this shoe.

Very comfortable shoes. This is my second pair of Salomon X-Mission 3’s. They have been kind to my feet from the get go. I have had none of the problems with the laces mentioned by others, and find them great for getting in and out of quickly. These shoes live near my
front door because they’re such an easy wear. I have gotten compliments on them from complete strangers. Soles, seams and fabric are wearing well. Colors have stayed vibrant. Picture is of two year old pair so you can see how well they have held up with regular wear.

While the fit and size are fine, there are two issues with this she. First, there is a broad elastic band over the instep which I have tried to get used to and cannot. If you have a high arch, think twice about this model. I am going to have to cut it to wear it. Second, the shoes have a fairly hard sole..not very much spring. The think I like best is no laces to tie!
