Shoes are great; zappos service poor. Got a message tha the order was delayed indefinitely. Called to cancel. Calls are handled by reps the in the Philippines; slow and confusing interaction. Poor guy could couldn't help because both of his systems weren't working. Begged him to cancel: wouldn't couldn't. Told me to just wait till it was delivered and then go to ups etc to send it back. Will be avoiding zappos and go with Amazon next time. Thought zappos was better at service.

These were recommended for plantar fasciitis. The support in the arch and heel were great....even had room for my extra inserts. The only reason I returned them was the mid section where I strike my foot. It was so flexible and soft that my feet hurt after wearing the shoes for 20 minutes. I will go back to Hoka One One.

I really like the looks and overall styling of this shoe but as a Marathon Runner, the long-run "feel" of a shoe is the most important. Although the overall cushioning of the shoe felt good, the main downside of this shoe for me was the heel feeling too soft. It felt like I was running on a flat tire with little to no "spring forward" feeling in the heel. The toebox is also somewhat narrower or too tapered than I would like for my wide 4E feet. I'll probably end up just using these shoes as everyday walk-around shoes since the overall comfort is good.

Always have been a fan of Asics, and these are no different. Incredibly comfortable, and stabilizing. Zappos had the same price as retail and the over night delivery was amazing.

Asics continues to disappoint. Toe boxes continue to narrow. Nimbus has become a pointed toe running shoe. Cumulus has a shallow toe box. In both cases if you want a shoe to give forefoot flexibility your out of luck. I love the Asics gel but the only shoe that meets my forefoot requirement now is Gel Evate 3 which they will probably discontinue.

Purchased 3rd Week of May. 14 4E. Thought I'd try the "high" end shoe after getting a "low" end shoe to see if there was a difference.
First week cushioning was decent and things were nice.
Second week my right foot was striking the bottom of the shoe incorrectly and almost ball of foot was rolling over while I was running. I thought I just stepped wrong once but when it did it 3 or 4 times over a couple days I thought something was wrong.
Third week developed pain in the front and mid foot area on right side and noticed the cushioning seemed to disappear or reduce drastically from initial wearing. I stopped running and just walked only. Pain persisted and the shoe just felt weird like it wasn't supporting the ball of my right foot quite right.
Fourth week took out the shoe insole and was very dismayed to find that the insole was a cheap feeling 5 dollar insole I could have bought at a discount store. I put in gel insoles (old pair) and the shoe felt better for a few weeks.
Fifth week the liner around the ankle started tearing and ripping.
Sixth week pain still continued after putting in the used insole at first and a brand new insole week 8.
I contemplated returning these shoes at week 4 but persisted in trying to wear them in. I should have listened to my instincts. I gave these shoes a longer life than I should have and thank you to Zappos for allowing me to return them after all this time. I've never experienced a poor performing expensive shoe like this before. I walk my dogs 6 days a week at 5+ miles a pop so I put these through their paces. My recommendation is to return them if you experience what I did in the first week or two.

not as comfortable as the Gell-Nimbus 18. this newer version is a little narrower. my husband will keep the show to use as a casual shoe but not good for running. (he runs 5-10 miles several days per week and runs an occasional Half and Full Marathon.) He wears a 2E in this shoe.

The toe box is way too narrow. Even though the shoe is long enough my big toe presses against the narrow front. After a run my toe is bruised. I am very disappointed. I have bought many Asics shoes and this is the first with this problem. Nike for instance does this all the time.

Initially the shoe felt very comfortable and I loved the style. However after my first 3 miles run in them my achilles tendon was aching. The high and very stiff back of the shoe really pressed against my it. I tried another 3 mile run and my tendon got worse so I haven't worn them since. It might not effect others the way it did me but I still wanted to relay my experience.

I have bought Asic shoes for 20 years. I have to get them in a 2E wide.I do not have to with others. This pair I bought in 11 2E. They were a half size short in length,& to narrow in the toe area. Also there is this collar of cushion around the top around my ankle that was to large it would rub on your ankle. Not comfortable. This is the first time I have had this with a pair of Asics shoes. I wore them around the house working on things. So I am sending them back.

I normally purchase the Cumulus, but I wanted to try these because I wanted a pair of black sneakers. The bedding is comfortable, but this shoe runs narrow. I wear a 15 4E and these felt more like a 2E.

The design chance between the Gel-Nimbus 17 and the new 18 is unwelcome! The higher ankle cut caused me to have painful blisters as I was getting ready for a marathon. I had to stop using these shoes and track down another pair of the older version. ASICS please change this back in the future!
