I have bought many New Balance shoes because they used to have more models in Narrow. Now they appear to have two.
These boots fit nice and feel comfortable on my feet. However, I haven't decided if I will keep them for two reasons.
I really am looking for lower height trail shoes. Say 4-6 inches tall. These are 7.5 inches tall in my size 13's. No one apparently makes a trail running type shoe in Narrow. The Dunham Cloud boots are the closest option.
And a design flaw. There is a tag partially sewed onto the top of the tongue exactly where you tie the laces. It is stiffer than the tongue and makes tying the laces securely more difficult than it should be. [The tag is more visible in the photos of the gray and brown models.] If I keep them I'll have to cut off the tag. That's the reason for the 3 star style points. And I like the look of my old 1569's a lot better.

Per a local shoe store, my feet are 9.5 with a width of 4E to 5E. It took a 10 6E to fit reasonably. Zappos struggled to supply these extreme widths, and I had to accept the only color they had available (brown). The shoes work well on Arizona desert hills.

Finally, some nice waterproof boots in 6E. Boots are new but so far they feel very comfortable and have good support, They look good and are well made. They do however run about a half to a full size small compared to other NB shoes.

My husband finds them comfortable and does well with walking in them. Haven't tried them on ice so that will come shortly, I'm sure

Fits well and comes in narrow (a hard to find thing). LIght weight and when you put them on, they don't feel like "new shoes." They are comfy from the first moment. The tongue does have a leather tag that was removed because it messed with tightening the shoe laces. Aside from that a really good looking shoe. I will buy more.

Size is good. Very dissatisfied with the fact this supposed same model is not available in brushed finish. Not overly excited to get a item I like to only have the next order changed in style or finish.

As expected from New Balance, excellent construction, shank, and ankle support. I have fallen arches and NB boots and shoes work great, along with My orthotic inserts. Compared to the Dunham Exeters I previously had, the only challenge I have with this style is that the top two hook eyelet pairs are very close to eachother; I find it easy to inadvertently skip a hook on either side. Well, that's just something to get used to. I slip these on and I'm ready to walk to work, hike around the lake, etc. Thanks NB!

Runs narrow. 4E felt more like a standard wide.
I ordered a half size larger than normal. Felt closer to my true size of 9.5.
Overall look and comfort is good, but if you have wide feet get it larger or look elsewhere.

Bought a size 1.5x normal 6E width, added a full foot insert and pads at the back heel and wear thick socks to get the proper fit and comfort.

I used these for walking, hunting, and at work through all but the coldest days all winter long. For a non insulated boot, they are fairly warm, especially with a nice heavy sock. If it hadn't been for a blow out on the side, I would still wear them, but were my little toe rests, the leather cracked and split. Normal wear on sole. I found them to be very solid and traction was great, despite the other review that someone left. Wore these on wet, oily concrete in the service bay's at work and never slipped once. Buy this, you will like.

Great fit!! Keeps feet dry in wet weather. Only complaint is that the sole/tread only last me about 6months. I am a UPS driver so my shoes are constantly taking a beating g on the concrete, so I wish the tread/sole lasted a little longer, but overall great boot.

Shoe runs narrow so make sure to order it wider ...otherwise the fit is good. I have not tested it in the mud and on the trails because the shoe laces are too short. I can not even barely tie it. So I have to go to REI or order some new shoe laces.

Great shoe overall - the only drawback being that for an outdoor shoe the traction on bottom is not so great for gripping rocks and walking through snow etc

Shoe or boot, is waterproof, fits my foot well. I gave another pair of low cut boots from NB, which are a little more comfortable. The sole is very grippy, but soft. I gave only been wearing them for a few says, and the sole is showihg wear. Also the sole appears to be thin, gut tine will tell.

I have a narrow low volume foot (narrow heel and width) and this is my third pair of these boots. No breaking in required and I never had a blister develop. After years of foot blisters with other manufacturer's boots, I found the NB SL-2 Last fits my feet perfectly. Thank you NB.
My only complaint is NB doesn't make a 12 1/2 B. Sizes jump from 12 to 13 (no 1/2 size available.)

I love all my New Balance trainers. These are very stylish and very comfortable. They do however run a bit on the narrow side for a 2E, but still love them. Walked a total of 36 miles on a weekend getaway to Boston the first week I got them.
I love the style of this shoe because it looks good with jeans and color schemes are easy to match.

Great looking boot and very comfortable. I was expecting a bit more support but overall it is a good shoe. I can easily put my insoles in to get the extra I want.

These shoes are sweet, I have a bad back and these allow me to make it through each day with a little less pain. I highly recommend them , I have bought them before and I will buy them again

Nice shoe and very comfortable. Being waterproof is good and the thinsilate is not over the top hot. Pretty nice shoe/boot. I would recommend this product.

I like these shoes, which I would call walking shoes. I wear them as everyday shoes and on trails in local parks. I generally like them, but I find the interior finish a bit rough, and even though I wear double socks for comfort, they wear blisters on the tops of my toes.

Purchased more than once, love the fit of new balance. I only seem to be comfortable in new balance products. I have tried other's, price not an issue, and I still come back to new balance after returning the others.

I have what can be described as feet of distress; low volume foot, narrow heel, size B width, toe pinch problems, low arch, etc.
After years of experimenting, I have found that NB shoes built on a "SL-2 Last" fit my feet perfectly and require no break in; no blisters ever!
These Walking Shoes are the new version of the MW1540 and I just returned from Canada where I did a lot of hiking. I bought these just before leaving and had no time for a test/break in period. All went well and they did not disappoint.
My only objection to these shoes is they don't make them in a size 12 so I have to buy size 13. Toe area seems excessively long but does not cause any problems except maneuvering them out of the back seat floor area of a car.
I have found the SL-2 Last to work well for my running shoes and semi-dress NB shoes. Yes I pay more for NB shoes (width B are rarely on sale anywhere) but my feet thank me for it.

Good boot, somewhat soft esp. the sole with minimal tread. I am finding them comfortable since I need a wide boot they are good fit. I have been wearing them for about a month. Since I am a big New Balance fan and ,for the money, I expected a little heavier boot.
