This is the second pair of New Balance boots that I have owned. I was happy with the first pair, except that they were a bit tight; I ordered that size and one size larger this time, and found the larger pair to fit very well. These are very well built shoes. I have worn at least a half dozen pairs of hiking boots over the years, and calling these "boots" is a bit of a stretch. "Walking boots" is about as far as I would go. That said, I like both the older pair and new ones a lot. I do a lot of walking, everything from city streets to paved and dirt trails in state parks. These shoes are quite comfortable, and I feel like they are giving me great support. That is important, because I have always had bad feet and need top quality shoes. Interior finish matters a lot to me, and like all the New Balance shoes I have owned, they feel great. These shoes run very small - I am a 11½B, and 13B is what fit me.

Best shoes I ever had. I usually have pains in the back and legs. This shoe supports my legs very good and they are very strong and comfortable.

If you're used to New Balance running shoes and lasts, these are more like their SL-1 last in fit. There's not as much instep room and less width than you might expect in a New Balance shoe. As expected from New Balance, the quality is excellent and they are comfortable.

These are the boots that you have been looking for. I have been searching for casual boots for motorcycle riding (one that covers my ankle). I do not like the style of many of the motorcycle boots/shoes so I turned to Zappos to extend my search. My feet are slightly wider than normal. I mostly can get away with a standard size 11D but sometimes this size can be too snug (depending on the manufacturer). I chose these New Balance MW1400v1 boots in an 11½EE and they fit perfectly. An 11½EE gives me enough wiggle room for my toes and the width is perfect. I love the gray color. They are stylish, super light weight and very comfortable to walk in. They are supposedly waterproof, which is a plus, although I haven't had a chance to test them out in rain. The one caveat I have is that the laces that come with the boots are 52" and are too short to extend to the upper rung and leave you without enough left to tie the lace. With that said, I still love these boots and have ordered 60"laces to replace the ones that came with the boot. I highly recommend these boots to anyone looking for attractive light weight boots for any outdoor activity.

As I've gotten older I need more support. These boots provide that in the wide forefoot that I need. They are light and have good cushioning as well.

I bought a pair 6 years ago and am ordering another pair today. SO comfortable and hold up incredibly well. Worth the money.

I bought a half size larger because the other reviews noted that these boots run small. I agree that they run small and narrow. So I bought a half size bigger and 4E and the boots fit great.

Comfortable, supportive, kept my feet warm and dry in numerous shoveling stints and dog walks in 2 feet of snow. 5 stars to Zappos for getting these to me in under 24 hours, just before the blizzard hit the east coast.

New Balance, you just get me. Everything of yours I put on fits like a dream. Thank the shoe gods we have a company that understands how to make wide shoes. Love these.

Roomy and comfortable for spending long hours on my feet everyday. Being a 4E limits my shoe options and New Balance continues to deliver.

I don't know if I'll keep these boots, I'm not used to this style, lacing around the ankle. Boot is well made, and foot part has a smooth lining which is very comfortable. I would really like to keep them, but not sure if I can adjust to this style of shoe.

Very comfortable work boots. I can wear them all day walking around on pavement and concrete. I would definitely recommend them to others. The only thing I personally don't like is the speed lacing on the upper two loops. They never seem to stay tight.

Just got these, so this is an initial review. They are not like most boots, more like an overgrown sneaker. These are softer, lighter and have a less aggressive tread, which is just what I was looking for. And they are wider. I usually wear 4e's in NB but I had to exchange those for 2e's. I use aftermarket insoles in all my shoes.

Fit well. Out of box comfort and support. Fantastically light weight. Very water resistant AND breathable. Wore for work shoes outside in Chicago winter (did need warmers on 20 and below days but I am truly outside for 12 hours, no going in and out, so this is good performance for a light-weight shoe when in these conditions one would normally be wearing Sorrels or similar. Great for everyday winter wear AND, a neat hat trick, summer as well. Love that, with smooth leather, can clean salt off and oil or shine to a nice finish. Handled wet conditions and, get this, breath-ability, really, really well Durability- and support-wise, these are like tennis shoes, so will need to replace in 300-500 miles. In my case, 12-hour days, I probably should have replaced in 4-6 months but I kept missing them when they were in stock. Loved them so much, kept wearing them long past when they were supportive. They still look great but am turning them into errands shoes. I am giving four stars overall bc I want manufacturers to figure out how to make light performance boots like these that also last longer. If not grading on that start-of-the-art condition, would give these a 5. Re 3 on Style, can't do anything about it but will say I have and will continue to gladly sacrifice some looks for these top performers.
