Awesome boot. Like any Chaco product, it takes about a week to two weeks of constant wear to break in, but you won’t regret it. I could wear these shoes every day. Light weight, durable, and warm!

Sad I have to send these back. They are so cute and the foot bed is wonderfully comfy. Unfortunately they bit into the top of my foot where the tongue of the shoe begins - I have had this issue with other shoes so its likely a "me" issue as opposed to the actual shoe.

These boots are very cute! I ordered a size 8 and they fit good with the exception of the side seam hurting a bit the first time I wore them. I just loosened the laces and they are fine now. The ivy is a lovely olive color. I don’t know why but the boots make my feet look smaller than a size 8.

I bought these because I really loved a similar pair of Born shoes that I had 20 years ago, and wore out. These are those reincarnated! They are extremely comfortable, absolutely great under jeans for walking on the beach, around town, shopping etc. They give a chill look without the "I'm trying too hard" vibe of so many booties. Here in the NW, where rain is a given, they are a lifesaver. No more sloshing toes and wet cold feet. Love them. Had to trade to get the right size (the first were too big), but bought two pair. I'm never going to get caught without these again. Maybe another pair? . . .

I LOVE these boots and wanted them to fit so very much! I ordered 3 separate sizes. Started with a size 8 which is my normal size...to big. Ordered a 7.5, fit better but still a little big. Ordered a 7, perfect length however toe area hut the top of my toe, toe room was to narrow maybe? As much as I wanted to keep them, they just didn't fit. I have a very high arch and a narrow foot, but the width was OK. I would order at least a half size smaller than normal.

Love these boots. Perfect for everyday wear in colder weather. I wanted winter shoes that were warm and waterproof but weren't big clunky snow boots. These fit the bill. They look great with jeans and leggings. They do have high arch support, which took a little getting used to for me, but overall, they are super comfortable. A lot of reviews say they run big, but to me they feel true to size. I wear a 6, and the 6 in these fits exactly how I'd expect. I like that they feel roomy in the toe box (but not too big). There's some flexibility in the sizing on these boots, I think, because you can pull the laces tight or leave them looser, so even if they're slightly long, you can customize the fit around the top of the foot and the ankle. I highly recommend!

I LOVE these boots! They were a bit of an impulse purchase after moving to a colder climate and realizing I didn't have many shoes that would work for fall and winter. That said, I'm SO glad I bought these. I took them on a trip to the Baltics recently and they kept my feet warm and dry despite rain, snow, slush, and sleet (even with lightweight socks on). I found them to fit very true to size. I usually wear an 8.5 and that's precisely what I ordered. They're a bit tight if I wear really thick socks, but I don't see a need to wear thick socks with the boots - they're plenty warm as is!

I truly love the style of this boot. I have a wide food and a bunion on right food. I usually always buy wide width. I read that some were able to buy a half size larger and that worked. I normally wear a size 8 and I purchased the 8.5. Wayyyyy, too long, and the width was horrible! I really wanted the boots, so ordered an 8. The fit in the length but the width is still too tight. But, I am going to try to have them stretched as I really love them. They have a super comfy feel to them and soft leather.

Nice burgundy-brown color. Really stylish as well as warm and great for walking in the snow. Just wore them once so far but they were comfortably warm and great to walk in. Like the sole, promises to be great when it rains this weekend.

I wore these shoes (with very minimal breaking-in) on an 8 day trip to Europe in November and my feet were warm and dry, and reasonably comfortable, every single day! They are not particularly cushioned but are very supportive and not too stiff. I have narrow side of normal feet and usually wear an 8 in boots/8.5 in running shoes so the 8 was perfect for me, with plenty of room for thicker socks but it's fine with thinner socks too.

Amazing! I love wearing these boots over my slippers. So warm and comfortable.

LOVE, LOVE this boot! It has typical excellent Chaco arch support. It is perfectly flat, in fact the heel may be a smidge lower than the ball, so it is very comfortable (I don't do heels.) I can walk and be on my feet all day in this boot, which I do as a teacher who moves about the building a lot all day long. I got the Castlerock (gray) color for its versatility. It is equally cute with jeans as it is with leggings. I have gotten more compliments on this boot from my teacher colleagues than any other shoe I wear. I prefer to wear the cuff up rather than turned down. I have very narrow feet (AAA) and can rarely find boots or shoes to fit, but because these lace and are designed so that you can pull the laces tightly without wrinkling or creating uncomfortable or unattractive creases in the boot, it works very well for narrow feet. They would also work with much wider feet. I may get the tan color, too.

These are a perfect sporty pair of boots. VERY comfortable right out of the box. They are wider than I expected, but that gives me room for thick socks. They look good with skinny jeans or boot leg jeans.

I love this boot. Wasn’t sure I liked where they hit around the ankle at first but these are the most comfortable boots! I could wear them all day long without an issue. I’m ordering about pair. I bought the Castlerock and love the color. I’m an 8.5 and ordered that size and they fit great.

I bought these boots because I like the way they looked and we deal with a lot of snow in the winter. I'd say they aren't the easiest to hop in and out of and require some solid tug on the upper portion of the boot to get my foot in. I do have young kids and make 2 to 3 trips to the car to both load and unload and we don't wear shoes in the house past the entryway. So that aspect is kind of annoying. I also need to find some clothes that support the look of these. I initially sized down based on reviews but ended up sticking with my normal 9.5. The Chaco flip flops come in whole sizes and I normally wear a 9 in Chaco flip flops. I felt like the toe box felt too tight in the size 9 of these boots, and would cause me to have cold feet. I did try on a pair of 9's from several seasons ago, and they felt too big. SO all that to say, I think it is possible that the sizing has been updated based on reviews since the first release of this boot. I wear darn tough socks that aren't super thin, but also aren't the heavy hiking socks.

They are the most comfortable shoe I have bought, put them right on and did not want to take them off. Wearing them in the house.

Love these boots. Perfect fit in my regular size (11), comfortable, and good looking. I like the lining and can wear thicker socks when the temps start to drop. I wore them, I'd say light hiking, right out of the box and had no break-in issues at all. The boot kept my ankles feeling sturdy and I felt steady on my feet with no slipping on rocky terrain. The Castlerock is a very nice looking gray color.

I wear orthotics so I always need a wide but this brand is always the perfect fit even in medium and I ordered my regular size. These boots are soft, flexible, warm and comfortable, as well as stylish. I highly recommend this boot!

I have only worn these for a few hours but can already tell that they are going to be my favorite this fall and winter. I wear a 9.5 but in some boots have to go to a 10 to get room for thick socks. I have fairly average width feet and skinny ankles but a bunyon on my right foot makes some boots uncomfortable. Not these! They are awesome and I have plenty of trim for the padded smart wool socks. I’ll probably be getting a second color!

Loved the boot. Unfortunately, I had to return them my size 11 looked like clown feet.

I have wanted a pair of Chaco Barbary boots for two years now, but held off hoping they would make a color I was in love with, and they finally did! The Mahogany is the perfect neutral brown, with a little bit of a purple undertone. I live in the southeast, so while it gets cold and we may see snow once or twice a year, a heavy winter boot isn't necessary. I needed something waterproof for winter rain that was functional without looking clunky, and these are perfect. I've gotten so many compliments on them already! Perfect with skinny jeans or leggings. As for sizing, I am an 8.5-9, and I got the 9 so I could wear them with thick socks. I probably could have gone with an 8.5. With thin socks they slip a little around the heal if I don't tie them really tightly. With thick socks there is still plenty of room. If you're between sizes, I would size down.

I normally wear a 10 1/2, it was too big. 10 fit perfect, no breaking in very comfy. I bought due to the fact that their waterproof , I haven’t had the chance to put that to the test. I bought them for an upcoming trip to Colorado.

I followed the advice of another reviewer who wears 8.5 and said the 8 was just right. So I ordered the 8, and they are just right even though I always wear 8.5. So order a half size down! They are comfortable and have good arch support for my high arches - hard to find in similar boots.
