I bought this for my daughter for school, she loves it. She loves all the compartments, even one for her IPad.

I use it for school, travel and in my every day life. It's stylish and comfortable so I don't mind wearing it as it's also light so I take it everywhere.

This thing has a ton of storage. I really like that I can store my macbook pro in there without a case and still feel safe about it. The major pocket doesn't look big when you first open it but it expands and you can store a ton of stuff in it. I have no complaints about this backpack and definitely would buy it again.

I use this backpack for high school and bring it to every class. I needed it to fit everything for all of my classes but after i put everything in, there is not room for a water bottle or anything thats loose i.e. pencil case or eye glass case

I loved the older version of this....adding the huge handle on the back of the backpack is a huge safety risk to women, especially those in a metropolitian area. Someone can just grab you and pull you back!!! Also, movin the extra pocket for electronics from the back pocket (where the laptop is) to the front was a bad idea. Whenever the bag gets full, you can't actually fit anything into the front pockets. Plus, the bag seems a little top heavy and falls over instead of standing on its own.

Purchased this backpack for my daughter. While it was a bit pricey it was worth every dollar as it is well made, durable and comfortable. Has pockets for everything with a lot of room for her books and laptop. She loves the color and really loves the back support and padded straps. Would definitely recommend this to others.

Purchased this for my grandson who is a junior in high school. Well worth the price. We were both impressed at how well it was made and roomy too.

I'm a law student, and wanted a bag that would better support my heavy load of textbooks without having to compromise my pride and buy a rolly bag. This backpack is great! It has super squishy shoulder straps and back support, and the chest strap and waist strap help distribute the weight of many textbooks across my body. The white and orange coloring is really cute, but I spilled coffee on it (my bad) and the white color took the stain :/ overall, a great and cute bag for someone with lots of heavy stuff to lug around!

I use this product for college. I really like that this backpack has a lot of space for all of my books and laptop. It is nice that the two water bottle pockets are not netted so they will not rip as easily. Be careful about getting light colors like white that are prone to getting dirty quicker.

I've always preferred totes or messenger bags to backpacks but starting coege I knew I would need something more sturdy so I bought this backpack and I absolutely love it. I'm able to fit my laptop and all my books for my classesalong with anything else I could need.

I got this back pack to use for college to pack all of my books and binders around, and also to carry my laptop around safely. I am more than satisfied with how much room I have to store those things and then more! I will definitely use this to pack for my mission trips! Has many pockets to store just about anything you have!

Love the backpack. The tech pocket with organization is a little small you can't put too many things in there if they aren't really flat. Tons of pockets! The color is perfect! Really comfortable on your back. Hard to get the removable straps off the bottom of the backpack.

1. Style. I went with the classic Black and Grey. There are about 10 other color palette combinations and they are as equally chic.
2. Comfort. The SURGE is endorsed by the American Chiropractic Association and I know why! Even when I've loaded it chock-full, it doesn't sag down my back or weigh on my shoulders. The padded straps are so secure especially with the two latches across your sternum and lower belly. I forgot it was even there.
3. Weather. When I arrived off my flight from Chicago, Atlanta decided to pour cats and dogs on me, yet The SURGE stayed 100% dry on the inside. My camera, clothes, and laptop were not damaged or wet in any way. The SRUGE's zippers are thick and hearty with a fold over the zipper preventing weather from penetrating into the interior. *One of the main reasoned I went with The North Face in the first place.*
4. Travel. The description is correct, TSA standards are met when carrying your laptop through the conveyor belt and scanner. I must say, I was skeptical TSA would allow my laptop to stay in the backpack, because it was part of their chant, "Shoes off, belts off, and laptops out!" Well, one of the main reasons I decided on The SURGE was for the 180 degree fold out section for your laptop. AND I had no trouble getting it through both times. My co-worker had to pull his out because his backpack did not allow to be folded out and another traveller picked up his grey crate with his laptop in it by mistake, because the other traveller also had the same laptop, honest mistake, but an ingredient for the worst trip ever. Luckily, I had The SURGE!
5. It holds EVERYTHING! A 15" laptop w/ charging cords, a pound of peanuts, Bose noise canceling headphone case, 6 pairs of socks, 4 t-shirts, a DSLR camera, a lapel microphone w/ receiver/transmitter, extra phone charging cords, ear buds, wireless mouse, two 200 page books, 2 button up collared shirts, deodorant, toothbrush & toothpaste, and water bottle in the side pocket.
It's perfect.

This backpack is amazing. I want 5 more. It is so comfortable to wear all while carrying my mountains of school work. There is an insane amount of pockets and I absolutely love it. There is a space and pocket for everything you could ever need. On top of all of that, it's so cute. What more could you want? Nothing. Absolutely nothing because this backpack has it all.

My husband had a North Face backpack and used it for work everyday, and even in three years it looks brand new. So when my daughter's backpack broke over the summer, I decided to get her this backpack. She loves the color; dramatic plum/luminous pink, loves the amount of pockets and features, and she's really pumped for school now, so she can show it off :) As a mom who can't really shop, this makes me really happy.
But the only thing I thought didn't work for us was that the shoulder straps seemed a bit stiff and a bit rough, and when she wore the backpack, the sides rubbed into her neck. That was the only thing we found that the backpack could have improved, but we're very pleased with it, so if you're reading this, I suggest you sould buy it!

This bag is very comfy and looks really nice. I've gotten many compliments on it since I've had it. It may seem a little pricy but it is definitely worth it. Your paying for the absolute best bag you can find.
