Good shoe

The fit was right on! I am always a little reluctant to order shoes on line because sizes vary so much. I was very pleased when I slipped these on and they were perfect.

Seems pretty good. Had to re-order but not Zappos fault. My feet got fatter! Surprisingly waterproof.

I have a fused ankle and with these shoes it give me room when they swell

3 years ago customers had a problem with the short tabs so I was glad to see New Balance correct that. Large is easier to fix then too short.

The shoe was at least a full size too small and it felt narrower than it should be. I checked the size marked inside the shoe and confirmed it was marked correctly, but it was nowhere close to what I expected it to be. I have a size 11 and I could hardly get my foot in the show. It felt like a size 10 or smaller.

Overall I was disappointed as compared to the MW577 and would have returned them if I had not worn them to truly determine if they would work. My last several pairs have been the MW577 Hook and Loop. I bought these because they have a better sole and heel design with a more aggressive tread pattern for road walking. As has been reported in other reviews, the width is sloppy and larger than expected. I'd suggest trying one width narrower than your last pair even if they were a little tight. As designed with elastic suspended straps, it is not a true "walker" and is more of a house shoe - like a pair of loafers. The main problems I found were the sloppy heel pocket (too wide allowing later movement) fat middles that can't be pulled tight, allowing the foot to slide forward, and the straps that include an elastic section that prevents proper tightening for exercise walking or even general walking at work. Pluses? The excess strap can be trimmed. The wider toe box allows for freedom of the toes. Overall constriction is great and the lasts were stitched well. Required no break-in for me and the heel has more shock absorption and rebound than the MW577. Sole tread design is aggressive enough for wet roads or thin slush, where the MW577s would slip. And, because the sides of the siping (the smaller grooves) is slanted, they do not tend to pick up stones like the MW577.

I'm disappointed in the fit to be that far off, which makes me have to guess what size to order so it fits properly. Having said that I am reluctant to order a second time and will try and find the shoe locally so I can try it on before I buy it

My husband has wide feet and it is difficult to find a brand that accommodates people with wide feet. He was able to find the size 7 4E in the New Balance brand. The fit is perfect, and the Velcro straps makes it easy for him to put on his shoes. He had purchased a similar pair of shoes in the past, however, the Velcro straps were way too short. New Balance has improved this feature and the straps are now much longer and you can even cut the straps if you want it shorter. I would highly recommend this particular shoes for the fit and comfort. I would also like to make a general statement about Zappos. I had returned a pair of shoes recently since it wasn’t what I had expected. I was impressed with the free shipping and return policy, and the quick refund provided by Zappos. Great customer service.

My husband has extra wide feet and it is difficult to find the 4E width. New Balance is one of the rare brands that offer this extra wide width. We did purchase a similar style in the past, however, the Velcro straps were too short and it was a negative feature for this particular item. However, perhaps New Balance has taken into consideration the criticism about this particular feature because the straps are now much longer. Also, they have made it so you can conveniently cut the straps to adjust the length of the straps if it is too long for you. I would also like to comment about Zappos in general. The service has been excellent. In the past, I had to return an item which was not exactly what I wanted. The shipping of the item back to Zappos was totally free, and my account was credited very promptly. I appreciate the great customer service provided by Zappos, and I highly recommend this company without reservations.

Great shoes but either my feet have gotten wider or they're making these a little narrower. Too tigh in the toe box.

The minute I put them on and wore them around the house I knew they were going to be a good shoe for me. The size was exactly what I ordered and the width was perfect. I also liked the idea that the straps could be trimmed easily if I felt they were too long. Great shoe at a great price!
