If you're going to any graduate school or even undergraduate programs this is your bag to help you spend your day on campus. It's big enough to for everything. Your books, electronics, and notebooks will be fine. It's comfortable and looks great too. Definitely must have for students.

I use this bag when riding my bike, as well as to transport my laptop to work and back. This thing feels like it will last a lifetime. It looks great, and best of all it is super comfortable to have on for a long ride. My laptop fits perfectly and is well protected.

I switched from a Timbuk2 Messenger Bag. Strapping this bag onto my back makes me feel like a kid going to school vs work as an Engineer. It's a Fun Bag!

It is great just with the looks. But the function is there. I had if for a couple of months and everything I wanted in it is there. It is simple, a lot of straps for "just it case" situation to hold something. They only problem I have is deciding which Timbuk 2 bag to use when I have places to go!!!

Worked wonderfully. Fit everything that I needed to carry while flying to Europe. Fit in the overhead and under the seat when needed without any difficulties. Its a solid, well built backpack that holds its shape.

I fell in love when I saw this backpack on the web site, I ordered online, and now I travel everywhere as my carry-on luggage and most of the people ask me about it, it's almost like a fetiche, a special favourite thing that goes with me everyday...

i have used many other backpacks with much higher price tags, but the spire backpack is far superior in every way. it has very accessible pockets and clever storage, great comfort without the bulk of having a waist strap or thick supports, and, ultimately, the reason for a 5 star rating is for durability. after 6 months of heavy use, there are no signs of wear, as opposed to the supposedly rugged backpacks for hikers/explorers available out there which tend to fall apart in that sort of time.

I have been using this backpack for the last five months as my primary bag for biking in the morning and having with me in college. The laptop pouch works well with most 15" or smaller backpacks, so no complaints there. There are plenty of small pockets that I have packed to the brim with advil, extra pens, device chargers, etc. I live in a subtropical climate and the contents of the bag have yet to become wet from my frequent bike rides through the rain. Overall, I am very impressed with this bag and look to continue using it for the forseeable future.

This has been my favorite purchase since my first timbuk2 shoulder bag years ago. I really have enjoyed the look, feel and use of this laptop backpack. My only issue is that it is pretty stiff when you first get it and the straps are long. As a comuter, I like the roll top feature, bike lock holder and pockets. The inside is large and can fit a lot. I am still learning the best ways to use it but it is a solid buy.

Needed a new backpack, this backpack is unlike any backpack I have ever owned or seen. It is very stylish, usable, comfortable, and durable; it's a win all around. Would buy again, will be gifting these to the family.

Finally, a bag that will take me from work to class with three meals, two bike locks, gym clothes, textbooks, and electronics in any kind of weather! The Spire is a great solution for any commuter who was trekked to work with a backpack plus a bag on each handlebar - the perfect combination of built-in organization and space for creativity.

I mainly bought this bag for school purposes as I have been on the hunt for a good backpack for the longest time ever. With my laptop weighing on my back on a daily basis, i scoured the net for a suitable one and arrived at Timbuk2. Thank you to you guys for changing my perception of laptop bags totally. This Spire model ticks both boxes for style and practicality. The main features of this bag has been highlighted by many other reviewers but i would like to emphasise two things that might have been neglected. Firstly, the straps of the bag has this cushioning that makes it very comfortable to carry and has a sturdy form to it which somehow helps maintain your back posture too. Secondly, the laptop sleeve on the inner compartment has been strategically designed to not reach the bottom of the bag which helps prevent the laptop from weighing down the base of the bag, causing an unnecessary strain on your bag. All in all a great buy and if you think it is expensive, there is a lifetime warranty to ensure value for your money!

This bag is great. Have used if for trips to NYC, SFO, LAX, AUS, AUH, DXB, DOH, and even a few Kingdom of Saudi trips...holds all I need for a carryon - perfect for the mac. Would be better if it had a second elastic quick pocket on both sides, but can't be too picky right?

What a great bag this is! Before buying the bag I done some reserach into the reviews and couldn't find much apart from a great youtube video where the whole bag was reviewed and its uses shown perfectly before buying i suggest you check it out. Overall I think the bag is great and would recommend it. Really impressed by the delivery time as I live in the Ireland and UPS had the bag at my door 3 days after i had ordered it.

Great bag as always from Timbuk2. Moved to a this backpack from a messenger bag. Transition is going well thus far. For those that can't decide what black version of the bag to get; the photos don't show the products in their true color. Long storey short, i ended up buying both black versions. I liked the red and black version, as the front of the bag looked to have a sheen to it, and the all black bag looked more of a flat black or grey front. Both bags arrived, and the black on the front of both bags looks identical in person. I will be returning the red and black version as i prefer not to have the red on my bag. Hope this makes shopping easier for the next guy. Thank you Timbuk2 for making a great product.

Bought this after using a medium messenger to travel with a larger laptop. THe messenger worked great but with a full bag, clothing for a weekend trip, the laptop was pressing against my back at an awkward angle. I thought a backpack might be better for weekending-type travel and the Spire pack did not disappoint. I could easily get by for a week with clever packing. It has the same timbuk2 quality and design flair you'd expect and it has worked great so far. It has more storage space (according to specs) than most other timbuk2 backpacks, but does not seem/feel too large. protected sleeves for laptop and tablet with a quick zipper access is great, but i found i can fit my 8" tablet in the front zipper pocket for even easier access.

My fourth Timbuk2 and my current EDC. Easily fits my 10" Samsung tablet and my non-Apple work laptop. Outer fabric not as rugged as my Swig. The velcro strips that help close down the lid rub/scuff the fabric trim. Wish there was a key laynard. Love the color combination and the overall build quality.

I needed a new back pack that served more purpose than to just hold my laptop. I searched for a macbook pro back pack and this brand popped up. First time hearing about Timbuk2, so I decided to look more into the brand and its products. I was blown away buy the amount of features compared to my back pack. Not only was the Timbuk2 cheaper, but it had almost 3 times more features (Waterproof, extra pockets, holders on the side for a water bottle, and lord have mercy...a mother lovin bottle opener.) There are only a few things that I have purchased in life that I really appreciate and share with all my friends. This back pack is one of them. Keep up the great work guys!

I use this for school, and it is able to carry my three huge textbooks, a one-inch three ring binder, two more pads of paper, a tablet, a laptop, a 3DS, a lunch and still have room for double that amount of stuff. With the incredibly comfortable straps, it feels like no weight at all and keeps all of my stuff dry with light precipitation. The one con is that the black and red doesn't go with much of my clothes, and there is only the two color schemes. All in all, this is much more backpack than I bargained for and absolutely worth every penny.

Great way to commute in NYC with your laptop and other things. So easy to pull out your laptop and other key items without opening the larger compartment. Essentially the only time you need to open the larger compartment is for bigger items (e.g. books, sweater, etc. The pockets on the exterior are very handy for small items. It's very stylish and comfortable!
