Overall this bag is stylish and very nice. This bag is NSA friendly which is very convenient for frequent travelers. I really like the leather looking materials in the bag (I am not 100% sure it is actual leather). The padding is also great.

I love this bag! I am using it on a daily basis with my motorcycle. The bag doesn't look that big but I managed to pack 6 days worth of clothes on my trip to Italy. Also it looks great and I get compliments from others as well.

Incredibly useful, stylish, much bigger than you'd think. A great all around bag that I'm using primarily for everyday carry. Highly recommended.

I bought this for a trip I'm going to be taking in March. Under light use (as of right now) the bag holds up. It's comfortable to wear and pretty basic. Not too many bells and whistles, but just enough to be fun to carry. Plus, it's functional. I'm not sure about how weather proof it actually is, since it hasn't rained/snowed since I bought it. I'm curious as to the functionality of the "TSA-friendly" part. I've seen the same TSA-friendly system in other T2 bags, so I expect this will be just as easy to use. Seems like a pretty standard, reliable Tumbuk2 bag that I will have for a very long time.

It's a great looking bag with a lot of straps. It's not a BIG bag, but it will fit all of your essentials.

I use this for when I commute to work in-office from teleworking. It's perfect to hold everything I need for a day of remote working, including my wireless keyboard which my old (non-Timbuk2) bag couldn't hold. Love the water bottle pouch and pockets are sufficient. I do wish it had just a teeny bit more protection for the contents in terms of padding/boning around the front/latching surface. Otherwise, I hope to carry this bag til forever! Beautiful and unique finish and color looks snazzy and (casually) professional.

Great backpack for people who own a macbook, just enouh pockets to store my accessories (mouse, portable battery pack, cables) and a padded compartment for my iPad. I've been using it for three weeks now and I love it.

Just received the Timbuk2 Spire as a birthday gift. I needed a backpack that was weatherproof, durable, as I work as a DJ carrying two books of CD's to gigs and also as a Yoga Teacher in Traing carrying books and yoga mat. Ideal for my nominalistic lifestyle carrying only what is needed. Love the top expandability to accommodate more stuff. An over all great backpack that suits my needs. Thank you Timbuk2.

It took me a long time to find a replacement for my everyday use backpack and I'm glad I waited till I came across this one. Very spacious and lots of pockets. The laptop/ipad pockets are perfect so my gear doesn't get scratched.

I have quite a few backpacks. Osprey is primarily what I've been using but found it very difficult to store my daily necessities and still have access to them. This bag allows me to easily access all of the things I need and expand the storage capacity when stopping off to grab a six pack on my way home.

I use this for school and everyday use. Its a great bag because its simple and very practical. It also has lots of pockets which becomes very useful at times and it also has a great design. Besides using for school I've used it for my EDC and I've also travelled with it using it for day trips to weekend trips and the longest trip I've done was nothing big but I just had this bag for a one week trip vacation so it was nice because it helped me to travel light. Its a great bag and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice quality backpack who also wants to look stylish. BTW: I've gotten lots of complements on the bag!

I first used this with air travel. It is very conveniently sized to fit under the seat infront of me. This pack has great functionality--lots of great pockets, sleeves for papers, laptop, etc. I loved it so much, now I use it with daily work commute as well.

Been using for a month or so. Loving it. I like it how my U lock is able to sit in front of the bag without any problem. And I like the pockets inside the bag as its not too many or too less. Overall it's a good bag to use to commute or travel. However if you're looking for a bag that can fit in more stuffs then you might want to skip this bag.

I bought this backpack for one-bag travel to conferences. I'm a light packer, and was able to easily fit a blazer, slacks, jeans, 4 shirts, toiletries, laptop, notebook, and my DLSR. So far it's been a great looking and durable bag. What I like best is that as you add more to it, it keeps its shape and expands vertically instead of outward (like most backpacks). Fits in the under-seat compartment on airplanes with plenty of room.

Really worth the buy I started bike commuting as a college student and needed more protection and it has been awesome. Plus I can't count how many compliments I have gotten at school which is fun.

The easy access zipper for my laptop and tablet are essential, I can fit just about everyone of my case books in here, AND throw in my gym clothes. This bag is, quite simply, the best I've ever owned.

I've had this backpack for about 9 months, now and I still love it. The arm straps are nicely padded without feeling bulky. I take it to and from the office every day and it continues to stand up to being tossed in and out of my car's truck or in the bins on the train. I love the quick access zipper so that I don't have to open the main compartment just to grab my laptop. The weird vertical zipper pocket underneath the flap top has become one of my favorite parts - I store pens, post-its and a stylus for my iPad in there so I can grab them quickly before or during meetings. I've traveled with this bag 5 or 6 times now through airports and it's come out unscathed every time. Sometimes I'm able to fit tech and clothes in there for 1 or 2 day trips. I've even been caught walking in the rain with it and nothing inside was even damp when I got home. Can't recommend highly enough!

I frequently lug two laptops on my long commute. This bag accommodates both, along with all my other survival essentials. Mine is the black version, and it looks professional in the office. It's not like some student's book bag. One misunderstanding from the picture on web site: I thought the straps tucked inside when not in use. They don't. I looked at the picture again, and it shows the back of the bag with the straps folded to the front, not tucked in. Not a deal breaker. The only other minor criticism I have is the bag is tall, so some areas inside aren't easily accessed from the top opening. However, I have truly enjoyed carrying this bag everyday.

This backpack was much cooler than I thought it would be. I really like the separate pockets for my MacBook and iPad. Plus, you can access them from the back zipper instead of going through the top. I carry the following everyday: 1. MacBook Pro 13" 2. iPad Air 2 3. Bose QC25 headphones 4. Apple Wireless Keyboard 5. Backup Battery Charger 6. Misc cables and tools 7. 22oz water bottle 8. 28oz Blender bottle With all of that, there is still a little room left. It feels like a quality backpack that will last many years. Highly recommended!

Great backpack. I got it during a Timbuk2 sale and haven't looked back since! I bike regularly to school and the spire has an abundance of straps and pockets to hold all sorts of gear/books and has a wonderful back zipper to easily get out your laptop/tablet. This perhaps is one of my favorite features of the backpack. During the summer I used it as a laptop case at the office and I got many compliments. I also used it during day hikes and as a day pack for the city. I've biked through multiple storms with $3000 worth of tech inside and have had it been kept dry. All in all, I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

This bag is awesome. It's stylish and it's amazing how much stuff you can put init. I would buy it again tomorrow if I had too. The adjustable hook to close it (with the scratch) is great! Basically, the bag is only as back as what's in it.

...a high end black VW Passat. Why? 1. European styling (in a good way) 2. It looks high end, but, you didn't overpay 3. Just enough details to make it look sophisticated 4. Smart design...features are where they should be 5. Only setback...the main cargo area (trunk) is deep once opened, can be hard to find the small things in the bottom
