A lot of other convertable pants are much more expensive. They do run a little small. Pockets are I. Good places. Tight on upper thighs right below but cheeks.

They run very small. I went up two sizes to make sure I had room for layering and really glad I did. The zippers around the thigh, just above the knees do cut into my leg when I squat in them but it’s a minor inconvenience. Overall they are comfy and I plan on buying more as my adventures continue.

These pants work well for hiking and I like that they are convertible. I have curves and these pants did work for me. Some hiking pants are only for women that have no curves. They do run a little tight in the thighs if you have big thighs, but they did stretch and work well for me. I would recommend these pants.

I really liked how easy these were to convert to shorts. The zippers were super smooth and easy to align and well placed so you don't have to contort to make it work. However I did think they ran a bit small...I ordered a size larger than my normal to make sure I had plenty of room to move in and they weren't nearly as roomy as I was expecting.

These are nice quality and lightweight material. I did order one size up and the fit is great! The only real noticeable 'issue' is that the part on the legs where the zipper is located is just a bit snug. It doesn't seem to make the legs look weird, you can just feel the zipper a bit more snug than the material itself. I have pretty thick thighs, so this might not be an issue with others.

Light weight, easy to pack up, quick to wash and dry. My only issue is..... not great for thick legs, a little tight. But still comfy.

The pants fit great in the waist and through the legs. They go in quite a bit where the pant legs zip off to convert to shorts.

I was nervous after reading the reviews about the zipper area being tight bc I hold much of my weight in my legs. I can feel the zipper while I stand but it only noticeably cuts into my legs when I sit down. I'll have to report back if this leads to chaffing issues on the trail. Other than that, I LOVE them. The rest of the fit is sublime. I'm 5'10" and the long fit is perfect. They have a midrise waistband, real pockets, sturdy snaps. The pants are structured but not restrictive on my movement. I can't wait to hit the trails with these!

I ordered these in a regular length (short was out of stock in the color I wanted). They are very long on me ( I'm 5' tall). They have a shock cord adjustment at the ankles and it makes these able to fit me. They run true to size in the waist but are a bit tight where they can convert into shorts. I love them! They breathe well and are very comfortable!

Two pair, one in Grill and one in Khaki, plus one other pair were the pants I took on a 5-week trip to Costa Rica. Worn either long or short, they were my go-to apparel. Wore well, were washed in machines, by hand in rough concrete sinks and stood up to the hard use. Very flexible with pocket locations and zippers, plus easy on and off over shoes with their wide pant legs. Only difficulty was the stitching broke on a pocket on one pair and on the pant leg hem on the other pair. Am sending them in for warranty repair.

These pants were perfect for travel. I liked that they are convertible. However, like other reviewers stated, they are tight in the thigh area. I'm 5'10" and was pleased that the length worked. The waist was a bit off and too tight so had to go with a larger size.

A bit snug in the legs for me. I normally wear a 22W in pants. Overall, great waterproof and easy to zip off to create shorts.

I was a little hesitant to try these pants on because I had read that the zipper location on the legs have very little give and causes the fit to be off. I was pleasantly surprised with the fit and the quality. This was a good purchase.

Pants are very comfortable except for one small item. The zipper where you take the shorts off is a little tight on my leg when sitting down. Otherwise I like them alot. Forgot they were somewhat water resistant and was surprised when I was out in the rain and the water beaded up and rolled off.

These are my go to pants when hiking and I love the ease of movement, however, I am not a fan of the design of the cargo pocket. It is a straight up and down pocket that is a little trickier than a standard cargo pocket. And when you unzip the pocket whatever you have inside falls out. I don't understand why the side cargo pocket on the women's pants is not designed the same as the men's. Trying to get to my phone and knife became a chore because my knife fell out every time I unzipped the pocket But that is my only complaint

I purchased these pants for a very active summer.
Sailing, camping, backpacking and hiking.
They served ALL of those purposes very well.
Waist band and length are true to size.
The convertible zippers are very tight size up if you have heavy thighs.

These are really nice pants. The length is perfect, there's no gapping at the waist. My only negative is that they're pretty tight at the knee where the zippers are; they dig in quite a bit when sitting. I'm keeping them because the overall fit is so good, and good quality plus size outdoor clothing is so hard to find.

It was perfect besides the fact that the zip is smaller than the pant it self. It should be borne in mind that the zip doesn't stretch. Hope this is corrected.

These are comfortable pants as long as your thighs are not to big. The zipper is a little to tight, the rest of the pants fit perfectly

Everyone writing about the zip off section being too tight around the thigh is spot on. They should be roomier there or the zipper should have been put down lower (like at capri or bermuda length). I loved the pants look and fit so much that I took them to my tailor and had her take out the zipper around the thigh and sew back the bottom convertible part back on permanently. So now my pants aren't convertible, but they fit perfectly around the leg now that the tight zipper has been removed. Also, I've noticed with all my Columbia pants, shorts and capris that the front pockets are not deep enough and i'm always having to check that my phone and wallet aren't falling out! I may even had a little velcro to the pockets in the future. I only carry a small wallet in one pocket and an iPhone 5 in the other and the 5 is only small smartphone so this shouldn't be an issue. Does Columbia think that women just don't put stuff of importance in their pockets?

I like the pants, but find that the area of the leg with the zip off portion is tight when bending or sitting. I have larger hips so the angled pockets with no zippers are also problematic. I would prefer either a regular jean type pocket or if it is an angled pocket I would like a zipper. Overall they are great pants, just not quite the right fit for me.

Obviously the big draw with these pants is that they're zip offs. They have a hint of stretch so they're very comfortable. I've worn them in hot and humid to dry and colder weather. I found them to be quite comfortable in both. The only aspect I found slightly uncomfortable is the waste band. There is no give in it. As a "above average size" girl, I just prefer a little elastic or adjustable waste band. All in all I give these 4 stars because they're comfortable when I'm guiding in the rain forests of Queensland, the hot dry climate of Arizona or the wet cold of the Canadian Rockies!

Great pants except for the uncomfortable zippers! Other reviewers were right on with this one. Returned them because of that. If they make a pair exactly like this that don't convert, they would be perfect!
