These are good for staying cool, but now that I've worn them hiking I wish I could return them. The zippers around the thighs are very uncomfortable when I sit down. I am a plus-size woman with large thighs and although the pants fit me standing up, when I sit it is very uncomfortable.

Don’t bother w/the women’s pants, just buy the men’s. Whoever designed these hasn’t had the pleasure of encountering a real plus-sized, active woman. I’m 5’9” and quite proportionate, but I’m a strong woman with strong thighs. These get bigger and bigger in the waist as you go up in size, but the leg size appears to only barely increase. I purchased two pairs to find the best fit, and I stuck with the largest, even though the waist is swimming on me, because the legs on both were unexpectedly small. Even with the largest size, when sitting or crouching, the leg-zipper-area painfully constricts. At the end of the day, I ended up borrowing a pair of men’s pants from my dad (like I used to do before I decided to give the women’s a shot) in order to hike comfortably, and I wish I hadn’t wasted the money on these.

Material is great for this type of outdoor wear. The only thing with these pants is at the convertible zipper seam (LITTLE TIGHT WHEN YOU SIT) does stretch out a bit. Over all its not a bad pair of pants.

I was hoping another reviewer was wrong about the zippers. She was not. I have several other Columbia plus size hiking pants and I love them. This particular pair is not designed well because the zipper does dig into your legs when you sit down. Had to return them.

I wear this pants style for hiking, work, and general shorts weather activities. Shouldn't wear them as snug pants though.

I read and re-read the reviews and figured I would roll the dice and try these and I am glad I did! They're perfect! Even ordered another pair this morning. I would advise you to take a good look at the size and shape of the model in the product image. I am built about the same and the parts fit just like in the photo. If you have larger thighs or hips, I can see where that might be an issue. For me, it wasn't. The length was even great. I'm 5'7" with longer legs, but these worked!

These pants are great for Spring and fall golfing. It is chilly in the morning but once the sun comes out shorts are the way to go. The zippers are a good quality and I can go from long pants to shorts in less than a minute.

It's comfortable , practice, soft, modern. Love it !

I purchased these pants after getting a recommendation from a friend. I wore these camping and they were so comfortable, fit great, light weight, quickly dried, lots of pockets.

I love these pants. They journeyed with me across Spain as i walked the Camino and I'll be wearing them again to Portugal. They are comfortable, easy zippering to convert to shorts. Sturdy pants to take on very long walks or a quick romp through the woods. I have a thick thighs and the 16W accomodates just nicely, Its a little snug but not too restricting. Another great feature is the bottom of the pant leg there is a cord to cinch up close to your shoe if you want. Overall great travelling pants

I have searched for a pair of women's convertible hiking pants in plus size that fit well in the waist and aren't too long for a very long time. I had resorted to buying men's pants in a larger waist (as men's waists are not where ours are!) and shorter length but the legs aren't flattering. Finally I found these and they are perfect! I'm 5'4" and the short length works well, especially since I can shorten more if I need to with the leg drawstring. And I love that the drawstring is on the inside! I normally wear a 20W but I feel the pants run very small and I was most comfortable in the 24W. Thank you Columbia for making clothes in plus size . Please don't discontinue these pants!

Absolutely love these plus size Saturday Trail II convertible pants! I usually wear a 20W in higher-end brands, and I'm taller and need at least a 32" inseam. I generally size up one for Columbia - and these pants are no exception. The 22 fit, but they were still snug, but that's my fault. I kept them, but also got in the 24L, and they fit great right now. The 2-snap closure works great, and the fabric is amazing. They're soft, and they don't make the swooshy sound when you walk. They also do a great job repelling water. They also was up nicely. I pop them in the dryer on low for 5 minutes, then hang them to dry. They come out great, and still look brand new after weeks of use. Make sure you don't use fabric softener or dryer sheets with this material. I was lucky to find these on sale. They are great quality and fit, and I love em!!

I am very happy with these pants. I did have to send back and order a size larger and they fit perfect.

I love these pants! Lightweight and easy to wear. I will say that i went up a size so they fit. Columbia always runs small on me.

Excellent style and fit. The little bit of stretch in the fabric is great for hiking. Wish the side zip pocket was a little bigger and the fabric a bit thicker for winter weather. But so comfortable and great length.

Love the fit and style. These pants are very comfortable, the bit of stretch in fabric is great. Wish they were a little thicker or warmer fabric for use during snowshoeing.
