I ordered the 8 even though I wear an 8½ because people in their reviews said they would be plenty big (and Zappos is out of 9 in the green glossy adjustable back). Well, my toe on my bigger foot hit the end of this boot even though I was only wearing thin summer socks. I will be wearing these with thick, cold weather socks, so I will have to wait for the 9 to come back. My advice? Half sizes should go up not down!

I can't wait to wear these boots! The black gloss is gorgeous and smooth. The adjustable back fits my calves perfectly, which are about 17 inches. These boots make my legs look slim! I am a size 9.5-10 shoe usually, and I got these in a 9. With just jeans and socks I can feel my foot moving the slightest bit, but I ordered some boot socks off of Nordstrom Rack and will soon order the cable pair from Zappos. I plan on wearing these for all seasons-rain, sleet, snow. I will just layer socks when it gets colder! These boots are incredibly nice. I got these to trek across my college campus, so hopefully they work out!

Have been on the fence about these for years. Finally purchased and am so happy I did! Wore them for the first time walking all over Mackinac Island the first day with no issues. Kept me warm and dry and no blisters/issues with my feet. Great purchase! Zappos, as always, is awesome too. :)

I have a wide calf and a size 7 foot. I ordered the 7 in the Burgundy (I wanted the Damson but unfortunately they were sold out). There was plenty of room in the toe, enough that I could have gone down to the size 6 but the calf just fit so I do not want to chance it. With a thick pair of socks they will probably be okay.

I love my new Hunter boots! I've been going back & forth on spending the money on rain boots. But after wearing them a few times I've decided they are worth every penny! And I love how quickly I got them. Thanks Zappos!

These are my favorite rain boots of all time! I am only 5'1" with "athletic" calves, and the fit is perfect. The height comes just up to the bottom of my knee. I wore them to a ranch in Texas and got them completely covered in mud for several days - a quick wipe down and they looked brand new again!

I agree with pretty much everyone else - these are a great option for people who don't like the fit of the original Hunter boot but don't like that the Huntress is a little bit shorter. The adjustable back is great, it's a little hard to get used to using but eventually gets easier. I use mine at a medium width, not too tight but not fully expanded and it's great. There is a little bunching in the ankles but not much to the point where it looks bad; all Hunter boots do it if you bend them a certain way because they're rubber. I wear an 8.5 in most shoes, and if they don't have half sizes I get 8 instead of 9 but I feel like I could have for sure fit in a 7. The 8 are a little roomy but I wear thicker ankle socks when it's warmer/thicker knee high socks in the winter and they work great. Also the gloss gives the boot a nice finish. Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase, well worth the money.

I'm tired of buying everything in black and these rain boots are a bright spot of color on a rainy day. You can't go wrong with Hunter boots. The ability to adjust the calf width is excellent. I was worried about support but I walk in them all day with no worries.

Love these boots! Very comfortable to walk in. I wear a 6 1/2 normally but I ordered a 6 in these and they fit great even with warmer thicker socks.

I would have to say that 'Caroline' is right on the money. The shorter Hunter boots look silly (unless you area shorter person or have shorter legs). After going back and forth between the Original gloss and the Original Back Adjustable gloss, I ended up getting the Adjustable. They back detail is amazing and looks so great with skinny jeans or leggings. I'm a true size 8 and the fit was perfect. I wanted something that everyone else didn't have too. I highly recommend them.

Love them. I love the color. I love the fit. I have athletic legs and while I've never been able to buy a wide calf boot because they always look sloppy on me, I have had to pass on other boots because they were too tight to be comfy. These fit fine over skinny jeans but there's not a lot of extra room around the muscle of the calf. The top is fine not fitted, not sloppy. I will probably get the dark petrol color next. I wear boots 3 seasons of the year as I live in a colder climate. These have a nice look with jeans and with skirt and tights.

I just received these boots and I am beyond thrilled that I ordered them. First off, let me just say that I have been debating for literally years about whether or not to buy these boots. I always wanted them but just couldn't bring myself to spend this kind of money for a pair of rubber wellies. I've purchased and tried on countless pairs of other wellies in the stores and have been unhappy with them for one reason or another. That being said, after a very long, harsh winter here in the Northeast, I decided to just bite the bullet and order them since this spring is going to be quite the mud pit due to all this melting snow and run-off. Let me tell you, these boots are worth every single CENT. I purchased them in black, the photos don't do them any justice! They are so chic and fashionable! I am of average size and consider my calf muscles athletic, at 14.5". After reading the reviews for the original and adjustable back circumference, I decided on these adjustable ones. I'm so glad I did! They fit perfectly, while still leaving me with plenty of room to tuck in regular jeans, to wear skinny jeans or leggings. I was a little hesitant reading the reviews about sizing and decided to just go with my gut and order my normal size (10). I have shoes/boots in my closet ranging from 9-10. The fit is perfect and there is enough room to wear thick socks with them into the winter. On top of all of this, the comfort of these boots is absolutely outstanding. I was walking around in them all day yesterday with no issues. These are FANTASTIC boots and they will be replacing the other 2 pairs of wellies I have sitting in my closet! I love them so much that I'm sure I'll be ordering them in other colors as well. Everyone owes it to themselves to own a pair of these.

Lavender wellies, what's not to love? The best feature on these is the adjustable strap on the top of the shaft. I have big calves and these fit well, but the adjustable buckle is made to be a little detail in the design too. I love it. I am ready for some rain!

Read this if you have wide calves. I have a 16.5-17" calf at its largest part and these boots fit. In fact...these boots are actually wider at the calf than the Huntress boots. The adjustable back gives a ton of extra room and doesn't look silly, even when opened a good extra inch. Highly recommend for those looking for water proof boots, but have wide calves. As a side note...I also have thin ankles, and the nice thing about buying "normal" sized boots with the adjustable top is that the ankles don't look baggy. Wish all boots were like this!

These boots are fantastic. Size-wise, I hover between an 9.5 and 10, so I opted for the 10, which was the right choice for me -- I like to wear bulky socks and still have room to wiggle my toes. The shiny black looks polished enough that I can get away with wearing these to the office (I work in higher education), and they're comfy enough to wear all day.

Very happy with the Black Gloss Back Adjustable. I'm rationalizing my closet and getting rid of old shoes that I've bought on sale over the years but don't quite serve any purpose. These Hunters are replacing 4 useless pairs of winter shoes for rain and snow. I love how these are funky enough to wear with jeans but nice enough to wear to work in terrible weather. They are also very comfortable and easy to get off and on. I was concerned the rubber would be too slippery on the ice, but they were no worse than my treaded snow boots. After record snowfall this year, I'm happy to be able to wear these right through the spring as the mounds of ice turn to deep deep puddles. The 16 1/2" inch calf measurement seems to be taken of the shaft with the adjustable strap pulled tight. I tend to have larger, muscular calves, as I walk everywhere, and these not only fit me, but allowed me to tuck in my jeans. I'm usually a 7 1/2 shoe, and found the 7 to be somewhat roomy, but comfortable with a large sock or the fleece liner.

Love these boots!!!! I usually wear a 7 1/2 but ordered a 7 and they fit perfect! The boots don't keep you warm in snow though so I would suggest to buy the boots socks by hunter. They are amazing keep my feet nice and warm in this cold weather!

I can not say enough about these boots. I have wider calves and they fit so comfortably. I am going to Scotland this summer and I'm getting the Original Tour so that I can pack them.

Just received these and in love. Like others, I read many reviews before ordering to get the right size etc. I usually wear 9.5's but wanted to be able to wear socks etc so I went with the 10 and am glad I did. I think the 9's would be too tight. I thought they run pretty true to size and definitely not big like some of the other reviews. I have wider athletic calves and these fit perfectly, allowing me to also tuck jeans and yoga pants, tights etc. into them. Ordered the purple gloss because this was the only color left in my size and love the fun, girly color! It's not childlike at all and the color is accurately represented on the website. Love these! I was sad to let my super cute Steve Madden boots go, but they leaked... (and who puts a fabric zipper in a rubber boot?!) The foot size is perfect - even with stuffing in my orthodics. (I wear an 8 flat, 8.5 heel and 9 athletic.) The adjustable back lets me fit my jeans in and makes walking just a bit more comfortable. (My calves aren't huge, but they're not skinny.) I'm 5'5 and the height is just what i wanted.

Best Rainboots I could find for my 17+ inch calves. Zappos mistakenly sent me the originals instead of the adjustable and they didn't even come close to fitting but they worked with me to send out the correct pair that I needed for work.

I love these boots! Can be worn with anything. I ordered a size down and they fit perfect, I'd definitely say to order down!

I love these boots! They are comfortable, not too heavy, and the adjustable back is such a great feature. They seem to run a tad large, but that's good for when you want to wear thick, warm socks. Definitely recommend!

Order a half size down! Then they will be perfect. Side note, they are very hard to drive in. Otherwise they are the perfect wet weather boot!
