I listened to everyone and ordered a size down and when they arrived my toe was touching a bit too closely for my comfort. Before I ordered the 8 I went and tried them on and they were a little too big. The salesperson showed me the new Hunter sole inserts and when I tried them on with the 8 they fit perfect and added a level of support and comfort. If you are between sized and need to go up I would recommend the insert.

I love these boots. I normally wear a size 8 and size 8 fits great with plenty of room for my toes. I added an insole and wear normal socks and it makes them super comfy. I feel very secure walking around in the rain or over wet greasy garage floors. I'm 5'5" and they come up to just under my knees. They look fantastic. I don't have particularly wide calves (wide boots are too wide for me) but I had to get the back adjustable because I want to wear these with leggings and slim jeans. These will also look good with just tights or bare legs. I like that the top is roomy but the overall look is not wide and boxy. These have a great shape. I can't believe I waited so long to get a pair. It won't be my last.

LOVE these boots!! The Hunteress fit very weird on my calves...actually they were way too tight at the top and huge around the ankle area...these are the perfect solution! They fit perfectly up top and you don't lose the classic silhouette, I also love that they aren't shorter then the classic tall.

I have been waiting to get these for the winter and ordered a size 7 based on others opinions of how they run big. I am a normal size 7 1/2 in all shoes and the 7 felt a little small and that was without any socks. I am returning these as I ordered blue instead of black by mistake and I ordered a size 8. Hopefully they fit a lot better. I will review the 8 when they arrive.

Excellent quality boot, but too big. I decided to order my regular size - 7 - and it was huge even with two pairs of socks. Plus my calves are slender and the boot was just too big. Also the boot is tall and kept bumping my shin right under the knee cap. Sad because it's a beautiful boot, but not right for me.

First of all... Zappos has the absolute best customer service, companies should learn from them!! So I purchased the original ones and they didn't go up my calves and I was very surprised because I have skinny legs; so I exchanged them for the adjustable ones. I'm a size 8 or 8.5 when the shoes are flat but I went with the 8 in the boots and they have enough room for socks, even with the socks there's still room. I love them, plain and simple.

Great boots! I've wanted a pair of Hunter boots for the longest time, so when I finally bought them I was so excited to wear them! They look and feel great! They look good with everything too!

Thank you, Zappos! I have been wanting black Hunter rain boots for so long, but my calves are huge and the regular ones do not fit! I tried the shorter boots, which fit, but that was not the look I was going for! I thought that I just had to give up and not have the boots that I had been coveting forever until I went on the Zappos website and saw that there were other women like me with large calves and the adjustable Hunter boots fit them. I was still skeptical, but with Zappos' free returns policy, I decided to give it a try. When the boots arrived 36 hours after ordering them, I was so nervous. I so badly wanted them to fit, and they did, with room to spare! Ladies give them a try, I really do not think that you will be disappointed!

I have to start off by saying that Zappos is amazing. Hands down the best customer service I've ever experienced! By the time I settled on Hunter boots I had ordered 2 other pairs of boots but was unhappy with the fit. Zappos was beyond accommodating and made the return process extremely easy. They then sent me the Hunter boots which unfortunately were a little too snug in the calf (definitely measure your legs before ordering, because I've always been told I have very skinny legs and while these fit, I just wasn't comfortable.) Zappos then sent me the adjustable back pair and they arrived so quickly and just in time for a major rain/snow slush storm! These boots are classic and comfortable and I couldn't be happier. I am in between a 9-10 and I went with the 9 but need a thin sock for sure. I feel the reviews that say they run a little big are true. I went with the black gloss and they go with everything. Thanks again Zappos! You are a breeze to work with!

Love these boots. I wear size 9 shoe normally and bought size 8 and 9, since the reviews said they run large. Both sizes did fit but I decided to keep size 9, in case I wear it with bigger thicker socks. Size 8 would be ok with thin socks. I also ordered the hunter boot socks.

I have ordered traditional hunter boots in the past and they would not fit around my calf. These are snug but they do fit and I love the look.

I am so in love with these boots. I agree with other reviewers order a size down I am a 8½-9 and I ordered a size 8 and I can still get my thick socks on and still feel very comfortable.

I believe this time that I ordered was my first time from Zappos and I don't usually buy things online so I was a bit skeptical. I ordered boots and it got here on time and I was happy for that but what made me more happy is that I ordered the wrong size so I called the company I talked to one of the workers and it was so easy they sent me a return tag via email then placed in the right order size shipped to me in 3 days and all I had to do is ship back the others before 2 weeks were up, all of it was free simple and fast!

These boots are great. I bought a pair for my daughter and my daughter in law had to have a pair after she saw them! I ordered the wrong size and they shipped me the correct size in two days with return free shipping! First rate! I am going to have to get a pair for me now!

I got these after I had ordered the original gloss. I highly advise measuring your calves around the largest part and comparing it to the measurements posted. I did not and the originals were tight. These were much better, more roomy, and allowed for thick socks. Also, be advised these are meant to be a heavy waterproof boot. They are very stylish, but are heavier and not warm like heavy winter boots. I loved them for the intent in which I ordered them - to be waterproof in a cute stylish way. I am a 7½ normally and ordered a 7.

These are stylish and waterproof. They are not as heavy as they look. The gloss gives the look of patent leather. I bought them to use while working outside on muddy ground and in streams. They are perfect for that plus they would be cute on a city street on a rainy day. I suspect they do not breathe well - but I would not think that they would given the material. They seem to fit true to size. I have athletic calves (maybe 15") and the size 10 fits easily with plenty of room to spare. I like that I can tighten up the buckle so the top of the boot is not huge. Not really made for extensive walking (hiking) - no support. I suppose you could put an insole in although might need to size up.

I first ordered the Original Tall and like many others have said the width around the calf was just too snug, so then I went to the Huntress and I just did not like the style at all. I was browsing through the reviews and saw that there was a tall adjustable and thought I would give them a try and they are perfect! I ordered in my normal size and the fit is great, maybe a little roomy but once I put thick socks on it will be fine. Anyone who wants the style of the Original Tall but has had problems with the fit should definitely order these!

Love these boots! I usually wear a 9.5, ordered a 9 and they fit perfect. Also love Zappos customer service. There was a delay in delivery and they remedied it immediately. So nice to talk to a real person when you call!

Love these boots! I can adjust the back buckle depending on the thickness of my pants. I don't have skinny calves but these fit well. I usually wear an 8-81/2. These run a little large so the 8 is great and leaves room for thick socks. I bought the shiny navy and love them. As usual Zappos is wonderful to work with.

I originally purchased the regular calf size boots because I really did not think that I need the wide considering I do not wear wide in my leather high boots. But, the regular Hunter boot calf was too tight. I then purchased the Adjustable back Hunter boot and it is much more comfortable. I think the original tall Hunter boot is more slim than a leather boot.

I absolutely love these boots! They definitely run a little big, so size down if you are between sizes. Other reviewers have said the ankle area runs big and I agree, but I am planning on wearing these all winter with socks and jeans so it should be fine. Shipping was really fast, I had them in my hand just a couple of days after ordering. I highly recommend them!

Love my new boots! They stop just below my knee. These run a little big. I typically wear a 6.5 and ordered a 6 and they are perfect with a thick sock.

Love these boots! I wear an 8.5, am 5'7" and am right of the edge of regular vs. wide calf measurements. Most boots fit fine with leggings but then get very snug when you add in jeans or boot socks, so I chose this style with the gusset in the back. Very glad I did! They are very comfortable, and the height of the shaft is just right for me. I wear an 8.5 normally so I sized up to a 9. They feel roomy, as a half size letter is to be expected, but it gives me room to put in a cushioned insole, or wear thicker socks in cold weather so I'm ok with it.

These are the perfect rain boots for those with slightly wider calves (or those who have difficulty fitting boots over jeans). They are certainly weather-proof and look great over pants or tights. I got the umber color (sort of brown/maroon color) which look fantastic. They do rub on my ankle bones so wearing socks is important. They are also a bit tough to drive in since they are stiff. Yesterday, I wore them for a full day of soggy apple picking and it was great to have dry, warm feet (and to be able to easily hose the mud off before getting in the car). Love them!
