Recommended as a "buy it for life" laptop bag, and does not disappoint. As someone who commutes daily by bus with a beast of a laptop, this waterproof backpack makes lugging it a breeze. The sternum strap and comfortable shoulder straps keep the weight close to your body, and the waterproof flap keeps contents dry. Very adjustable for shorter people, and the exterior pocket is good for quick access for bus passes and other small items. Only improvement it could use would be some reflectors, but the webbing offers many places to attach accessories and reflective tape.

I honestly like this backpack a lot. It's really compact and comfortable. My laptop is a bit larger its recommended laptop size but it still fits perfectly. It looks stylish. All my friends like it. Honestly, North Face backpack is old and outdated. Timbuk2 is NEW WAY OF LIFE for all those hipster out there. Go on youtube for video. The shipping service are great. I got it on time before I travel to another state.

My partner was looking for a bag for me to carry around my laptop and various bits and pieces. Too many backpacks just don't look good. This one is a great colour. Is waterproof not just resistant and is a dream to hold. There is more storage than you can imagine but it doesn't make the bag too big to carry around nor does it look odd. It is a very high quality feel bag and much better than bags priced higher. A great buy and a great bag.

I've been through a lot of backpacks, and I was never able to find the one...until I came across this beauty. I love it to pieces. It's great for school. It's not too big, but it's big enough to carry all of your every day school items. I was actually surprised at how much I could store in it without looking like a tortoise --that's saying something because I carry a lot of junk, and I'm a tiny little girl. I bought the camouflage one, and I feel like a total baddie wearing it.

Verified PurchaseReview for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I upgraded from a jansport to this! Best decision ever!! I love that it has a laptop pouch so sometimes I don’t need a case with it. There is however only one giant pocket, not including the laptop pouch. It’s really your preference though! There’s also small pockets inside with zippers which is great. The shoulder straps are amazing and soft!! They don’t hurt or dig into my shoulders like my old backpack. I’d say the straps and the soft back are the best part of the backpack, which is why I have the comfort 5 stars!! Material is definitely more water resistant than the jansport but not waterproof so you have to be careful. Additional note: customer service was also very helpful!!

I have a previous Rouge backpack andI love it that's why I bought another one. But, the material on the new one feels different and less water resistant. I'ma little disappointed so I only gave 4 stars. I still think Timbuk2 bags are the best

I like the backpack lightweight and well designed... however i am really concerned about the shoulder straps and their placement on the bag. They seem way too close together and on first try are rubbing on my neck?
I will try to adjust the straps but not sure why they are only 4 inches apart?

This is my second bag from here and I only changed bags so I could pack a lunch. This bag didn't disappoint. It's more of a vertical bag and doesn't get very wide or protrude out much. It fits my 15 inch laptop perfectly. There aren't a ton of large pockets but there still feels like a good amount to store little stuff. I'm over 6 ft and the bag does seem smaller than most. However, it's really just a visual thing. The more I wear it the more I like it and realize how much I like not carrying a giant heavy bag
Other than some more medium pockets in the main compartment, I really don't have anymore negatives. Nice work Timbuk2!

I use this for work. It holds my laptop and notebooks -- and actually, just about everything else I need for work and in between work hours. It looks stylish too, the colors look even better in person.
My reason for a 4-star rating is because only one out of four of the inner panels of the bag I received was made of the matte, water-resistant material. The material this backpack is made out of feels quite thin, but I have not seen nor experienced any wear and tear in the past 3 months I've had it.

This is a great back. Lots of room for my daily stuff plus a change of clothes for an overnight. I wouldn't mind another zipper pocket or two, but I can make do. In general I'm very happy with this bag.

I bought this online for commuting to work on my bike. The look is great, nice materials and nice design. Have not used it on rain yet but seems like is good material although not sure it seals all the way to prevent water to get in, but seems ok on that.
My main critic is on the fit, I travel with my laptop and the laptop pocket fits nice, but it does make the back feel stiff, I would prefer more couching in the back so it mild better to my body. Also the chest strap is very big, I'm a big guy and I cannot right it enough to hold my chest well, so o feel is not holding much there.
I'll still keep using it as it works well but those details would have made it a 5 star. Thanks!

I used a Timbuk2 courier bag for 20 years already, and took a 2 year break when I was gifted a new off-brand bag with the new job. After having shoulder issues my PT said I needed a REAL backpack for daily commuter use (train, subway, walk), so I'm back to brand loyal! This new bag needed to handle a 15" laptop plus have easy access pockets for phone/cash/commuter pass without having to rifle through the whole darn bag. I love this bag and the vertical layout, great cargo space, extremely durable. This would be a 5 star rating if the top flap had ONE MORE slim zipper exterior pocket, and a 2nd net pouch for a bottle. Since the only exterior pocket is at the bottom of the bag, you have to lift the whole bag up on your lap or table to get at the lower pocket. Often I'm on a train or a subway and the bag is on the floor, so a top flap slim zipper pouch would have been perfect to easily reach down for my quick items. I don't need all the loops on the outside of the bag, and they are either too thin or too wide to hold an umbrella so those are not useful to me. Overall it's a fantastic bag.

I load this up with everything I need for the day- smaller purse to grab for quick errands, lunch, numerous water bottles to beat the heat, spare clothes etc and it still has room and the weight is well balanced. Construction is sturdy and I love the look of it. It could have a few more smaller pockets for me but not a deal breaker.

I use my Rogue as an everyday carry backpack for my laptop and emergency kit. I particularly enjoy how spacious it is, and everything I put in seems to self-organize to fit every available cranny. However, I do wish that the straps were a little more comfortable; I did a 10-mile trek in LA and the fully-loaded Rogue started to make its presence known by the sixth or seventh mile. The straps seem to dig into your shoulders. I also would have liked more pockets for the knick-knacks that never seem to find a good place. Still, it works for what I need it to, and I've definitely hooked up my friends with their own.

I bought this bag around this time last year, was pretty much my first more expensive backpack purchases. I was lead to Timbuk2 by a friend and classmate. I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase and would definitely recommend them to most people. I'm an industrial design student so I usually carry quite a lot of stuff with me. My typical day I'll carry my 17" Laptop + charging cable, a 11" x 17" hardcover portfolio book, a 9x12 sketchbook with some drawing and writing supplies as well as some tools. With all this I still have plenty of room for a bit more which is always nice. One of my favorite aspects of the bag is the materials and colours they just look so good. Now I'll have to mention the things that arent so great. Despite having lots of room there isnt much division or separate compartment. So depending on what you need it for could be an inconvenience. The other thing is the padding, there just really isn't all that much. The straps and back of the bag have air mesh combined with a very thin layer of foam. If you're planning on loading this bag and going on long hikes or something of similar nature I'd definitely look to something with more padding. Despite these cons this is still a fantastic bag especially for the price and along with the lifetime warranty it's hard to beat!

i've had a TB2 messenger bag for years and love it. Was hoping to get a backpack substitute, but this is just too deep of a bag. I like /need the ease of access to all things that the messenger bag provides. I should be able to get things at the bottom without having to struggle or pull everything out. i work in construction and carry computer, documents, etc. in hot, cold, dusty, wet areas, so a bag that opens and closes easily is paramount. Just take a messenger bag and put backpack straps on it. Otherwise, the design, quality of materials and construction are great. wish i could make a TB2 backpack work for me!

This is a great bag, I got it for my birthday in January 2017 and have been using it daily since. I like the look and the flap closure, which really comes in handy. I like that the back panel has a stiff plastic behind the padding so it bends to your form, but isnt floppy or slouchy (technical backpack terminology). I wish it was maybe 30L instead of 25L, because there have been many times I wish I had a little more room to keep things inside and not under the flap ( also wish the straps could be longer. My other issue is the waterproof material inside began to flake, I dont know when, but after about a year. and the organization area threads tore soon after buying. I also wish the whole bag had waterproof material, really only the top flap is and the water runs down onto the outside pocket and gets it wet (this pocket is not waterproof, just nylon)
Overall, for the price, especially because I got this on a 50% off sale (yey me!) I love the bag, It has served me really well! Had I paid full price I'd be a little bit disappointed.
I would still recommend this, but just know that youre getting a durable standard bag, not one that can be used in the heavy rain and that it may deteriorate, but still be useable.

I've owned this backpack for about 6 months now and it's absolutely amazing for commuting and biking. I quite often have very heavy books and etc in my bag and I've seen no sign of wear and tear, you can truly feel the quality of this bag. In addition this backpack keeps everything dry, I've used it in light and heavy rain and have never seen any trace of water penetration. My one draw back is that the laptop sleeve is not very well padded so you'll have to use a sleeve for your laptop.

Timbuk2 carries on as the premier messenger bag and stylish backpack manufacturer with this bag. Well made, stylishly low profile, light and comfortable. Only cons are the loud Velcro enclosures and it's smaller than expected size and lack of pockets. I own and love my other Timbuk2 products and even though they provide accurate measurements in the description, I'm always a little disappointed by they're smaller than expected size. In a nutshell, great product but upsize your pack!

I'm a female, about 5'5", and this backpack was a good size for me. I use it mainly for college, and I can comfortably fit my 13" laptop, some notebooks, an umbrella, and other miscellaneous little items. I purchased the Under Cover - Reverse FARP color, which looks online like a pink trim on a navy backpack; however, in person, the pink looks more like a brown-gray color. I was a little disappointed, but it still looked more feminine than the other colors to me, so I kept it. Also, I recommend getting the velcro silencer strips if you aren't a fan of that loud ripping noise every time you open and close your backpack -- not a good idea for a habitually tardy student who tries to sneak into class mid-lecture (oops).

I love this bag - I use it for work and personal because it's the perfect size for laptop/books/jacket but not clunky. It's also incredibly stylish with it's coated black material and military inspired strap design. My only wish is that it had a few more interior pocket options to be a little more organized in the main opening.

Interior pockets should be placed a little lower in the bag. It's too high up to the top. When I open/close the bag, things get pulled out and fly into my face (ie: pen) or smashed by the cover (had a packet of Pocky cookies in there and the part of the cookie that stuck out from the internal pocket was crushed. More internal pockets like the timbuk2 messenger bags would be better to organize my smaller items. I am not able to fit glasses AND sunglasses into the existing pockets. I can fit one but not both. I use hard cases for both types of glasses because prescription glasses are not cheap and I don't want to shell out $ each time my sunglasses get smashed. No key ring latch like my Timbuk2 messenger bag has. I thought all Timbuk2 had this feature, but I am wrong. Key latch is very helpful for me. The main compartment is great for my larger items - lunch, 16oz klean kanteen water bottle, and a 16 oz thermo, and some layers during the cold season (large scarf, gloves) with room to spare. I'll have to reorganize my smaller items into small bags or something. I use this bag mostly for commuting to/from work via bus. I do not carry a laptop. Have not been in a heavy rain with this backpack yet, but I am in Seattle so it will happen eventually. During a light misting/sprinkle, it did well to keep my items dry.
