Essential and lean backpack. Great to commute on public transportation or motorbike. I would have expected few more dividers and internal pockets. Nevertheless it fits my core scope.

I'm satisfied with this backpack, I got it on sale for a reasonable price too. The front outside pocket is annoyingly narrow, I can fit a phone and headphones in it, anything else I have to remove everything to find something its so small. On the inside theres some small pockets and a laptop pouch, to me its kind of a backpack duffel bag, bottomless you know? A bit hard to dig stuff out of. But this back just finished its first semester with me and a trip to Nicaragua so it gets the job done and looks pretty cool too. I'll be toting this thing around for years and countries to come.

This was a Christmas gift for my husband. He is very hard on backpacks, so I chose one of the sturdier designs (from what I could tell on the website). He has been very pleased with the bag- the only draw back being that there are not very many small internal pockets. It doesn't seem to bother him much though. He's taken it to work every day on a combination of bus and skateboard commuting. It fits his essentials plus his work uniform perfectly.

I bought thia as a gift for my daughter. It is stylish and has a good protection for the laptop. Only wish it had a little more padding on the back.

I love almost everything about this backpack except the padding on the back, when you wear it after a while the stiffness of the padding between your back and the backpack seems to loosen or wear and it loses it's stiffness and starts to fell uncomfortable when carrying heavier loads, other then that it is ideal for my daily use at work (I drive a local transit bus) I need to carry a lot of stuff with me while I work, it looks great and has the slim size I need while still having a lot of room to carry stuff

Love this bag but wish it had one more divider in the main bag area. There is a slim pocket for a computer and then it's just an open bag. One more divider to break up the bag would keep everything from getting jumbled all together. Also maybe a pocket that could hold a computer charger.

This is a great bag in that it's stylish, rugged without being bulky and comes is some great colors. However, it's very tall and since it's a top loading bag, when you put things in like your wallet, it falls straight down to the bottom and that's pretty much where everything ends up. With a laptop in the sleeve, and no outside pocket to retrieve the laptop, when you have a full bag and then take the laptop out, all the contents of the bag move around and then it's difficult to get the laptop back in without taking it all out. I feel that an outside loading laptop sleeve would make more sense. The bag, due to it's depth needs side zipper access at least on one side which would make retrieval of items much easier. The additional of a second zippered pocket would come in handy. There is one but it's very small and can't hold much without obstructing access to the main compartment. All in all, I think I will have this bag for awhile but I don't carry much. Just items for work. If this was used for school I think it would be harder to adapt to.

I have been using this as a daypack and gym back on occasions. Can fit my US 11 shoes together with all my gym clothes and 13 inch MacBook Pro and still have plenty of room. Bag is great so far.

I got this bag to replace my classic messenger bag, this proved to be a great replacement and evenly distributes the weight on both shoulders. I use this for my work commute (Home/ Work/ Biking/ etc) and does a great job in accommodating all my needs for the workweek with the company issued laptop/ change of clothes/ shoes and during the weekend with my personal 15" MacBook or the iPad Pro 13inch and a camera insert for my DSLR and (2) extra lenses.

I use this bag for work and for going to the gym. The computer pocket is exactly what I wanted for my 13" Macbook. It easily holds everything on the inside that I need for work including my lunch. I usually use the outside side pocket for my water bottle or coffee. I wish that there was one more pocket on the other side. It seems like the straps on the side and on the front that are intended for a bike helmet or lock are a little redundant. I also wish that I had a strap on the front with a buckle or clasp. When going to the gym I am able to hold a basketball, a pair of basketball shoes, and a change of clothes easily on the inside. I would definitely recommend this bag for this price.

Great purchase, the bag is nice and works for school and other daily commutes. Only problem with it is the velcro straps that are on it. Very annoying to have to open velcro while in class or a meeting so if you get this bag make sure you get the velcro silencing strips as well. Aside from that it is a good bag, not too many straps or pockets on it, overall good buy.

Wish it had an internal key leash. Would feel better if there was a dedicated padded side zip phone pocket instead of an external multi use pocket. Bag is very large and deep. This is great for travel, but for everyday commuting I've had to purchase a set of zipper pouches to organize my stuff or I'd be digging around frustrated trying to find anything. Super comfortable. Flew and attended conference with my oversized laptop very comfortably--no back pain. This was entirely unexpected and amazing. My back *always* hurts. This bag is changing that.

I mainly use this as my daily carry to take the essentials i need when i'm at work, hanging out at a coffee shop, or walking around town. Took this to SD for comic-con weekend and it was great. Front exterior pocket let me keep my external battery handy. Inside pocket held my little things like memory cards/cables. Main compartment held my tablet, camera, monopod, and 3ds. external webbing let me hang a bendy tripod on the outside. Size of the bag was perfect for navigating crowded halls without whacking people as I walked by. I especially like that the cover straps let you maximize the main compartments space for when you gotta shove a few extra items in there and still keep everything secure. My only nitpick would be that the laptop holder is pretty minimal on padding, but the compartment is slightly raised and the back of the bag seems sturdy and supportive enough to provide a bit of protection so not a big deal. Style looks great, I've gotten a bunch of compliments about its looks. little extras like the bottle opener and daisy-chain webbing are great. It lets me carry all my daily essentials, is comfortable to wear, the materials and build quality feel solid, and it looks great. Overall, great value.

Use the bag mostly for bike commuting to work and around town. Love the stiff back support that gold the shape and spreads the weight without being uncomfortable. Like the velcro closure with the option to use straps. If I am doing short rides I will leave it unclipped. Could use a other side pocket. I like to use those for quick access items like keys to the lock or phone, this bag only has one and I think it is on my less convenient side. Other than that I like the simplicity of one big compartment, with the one small outside pocket and one small inside pocket.

I use it for as well as pleasure. Pretty solid all around pack. Not a lot of pockets, but ones it has are well placed for ease of use. Im pretty happy with it and it looks good enough for office use.

I got this backpack expecting to be able to bring it to work, on the bus, and on hiking trips all the same. It did not disappoint. It has room for my 15-in laptop, a couple of books, a binder, a sketchbook, my water canteen, and more if need be. I have used this for a hiking trip as well and it was comfortable and ergonomic to carry along the way. I haven't experienced using it during rainy weather yet but am certain it will keep my things snug and try when the opportunity arises. To top it all off, the black color I selected is very stylish and others have asked me more about the Timbuk2 brand. Again, this is a class backpack and I would recommend it to anyone who wants something versatile to have available for life's adventures.

why timbuk2, because they crossed my radar years ago and i ordered a custom messenger bag. which has lasted approximately10/11 years and is still going strong. this bag has been my constant companion for work and travel all over europe. the quality, build, and reliability are impeccable. why the rogue? i have a laptop that i need to cart around and as toby keith sings, i ain't as good as i once was, my how the years have flown". the rogue is amazingly comfortable with the behemoth laptop the company provided. the shoulder straps distribute the weight nicely. i also load it up with other stuff and it is amazing light and comfortable. the reason for the 4 stars is no key leash and the interior pocket and misc. other slots seem smaller than necessary. as i've only been using the rogue for a week or so i can't comment on the durability. however, i anticipate this bag to last me a long, long time. do yourself a favor, find the timbuk2 bag that fits you needs and go for it. you won't be disappointed.

One less pocket/storage compartment than my last backpack, and not totally weatherproof (which I already knew). That said, I ordered this bag site unseen (kinda), looking for something stylish and low profile, and I found it in this particular product. It's not bulky at all. The straps are well contoured, and the bag rests securely on my back. The laptop compartment being raised a bit is a definite plus. I have no complaints whatsoever.

I use this bag for my work laptop. By the way, when purchasing the bag, the TIMBUK2 size selector for laptop sizing was very helpful. Made a more accurate selection using this tool! My style for work is very basic and modern; so I wanted a pack with clean lines and not too many straps on the outside. The only thing I'd improve on is the interior mesh pocket with the top velcro strap. Sometimes it attaches to the outside later for the outer closure. No big deal really, I still love it. Also the inside small pocket could be a bit deeper. Occasionally I put cords in this one and it puffs out. Again nit picky, not a deal breaker. I'd buy 6 more of these, one for every day of the week. Great bag at a great price!

Carries well and well made bag. Large central component with a separate velcro segment for laptop. A small side pocket for water bottle is just nice for my 1L nalgene. Small zip pocket is where I place my iPod and small items

Great backpack that would be even better with perhaps one more interior pocket. Fabric is nice-looking and doesn't show dirt. I like that the laptop section is structured like a sling--your computer doesn't hit the floor when setting down the pack. I use this for a daily work commute and it's been great (1 month in).

I got this for my teen daughter who cares about looking cool. I care that she had two straps instead of a shoulder. The Rogue fit the bill. She carries a ridiculous amount of stuff and it all fit, but shockingly the pack design belies the volume and number of items inside! It kept her laptop and books dry in a downpour. The downfall is that there aren't enough pockets inside, so we mitigated that with a bunch of fun pencil cases that now hold her million of little things. She looks great. she's happy. her posture is better. I am happy.

LOVE It's awesome how simple yet stylish it is. I work as a photographer and all its pockets and features are very useful. I recently used it for a day hike and found it super comfy. DON'T LOVE It has a lot of velcro and tends to cling on clothes and my mesh gear bags but that's too specific of a problem and quite ignorable. Also the side pocket is made for smaller water bottles. Not snug enough for my 27oz Kleen Kanteen.

The biggest problem was the cross strap is too high. It often chokes you as you walk. The pack is designed for smaller chested people, not for us that have some girth from working out or even a little pudgy people. I use the product to commute to work every day. It works fine, but is uncomfortable to bring on a longer urban walk or to bring to a large city. So, upon writing this review, we just found that the cross strap is ADJUSTABLE with snap buttons. They should make this a bit more obvious from the packaging. So two thumbs up now!
