Love this mat. Great support and feel. Still breaking it in. It will take time and several sessions of normal yoga practice. Somewhat heavy, but thats because its a longer than normal mat.

So I've had the Manduka PRO Lite mat for 2 years. I purchased this Long Manduka Black Mat PRO maybe 6 months ago to use only at home and sort of more for my boyfriend. I have practiced on it daily. I feel like my PRO Lite broke in more easily than the Black Mat PRO. I did have to vigorously wash/scrub my PRO Lite and then even come back after it was dry with more water to scrub again. That finally did the trick. Plus I take it everywhere and I think the rolling/unrolling helps. With the Black Mat PRO, I just leave it on the floor at all times, so maybe that's why it has taken longer to break in. But it is super supportive, both soft and cushy and yet also dense and supportive. I gave it four stars because it is very heavy (especially the long version). I would recommend that if you're small (I'm 5'4", 120#), you might be good just to get the PRO Lite. However, my boyfriend (6'3", 190#) just loves it!

This mat is really thick and provides comfort while practicing. The problem is that it is slippery if you sweat. My hands and feet get sweaty, and I struggle to keep myself in place - my hands go sliding.

Happy with my new mat. I have followed the instructions relating to prior use. I am finding it quite slippery. Hands slip a lot while doing upward dog for example. Makes it very awkward to hold posses for any length of time. I would purchase one of your towels to put over it but you don't post to Australia where I live.

I bought the black mat pro about 6 months ago. And to be honest, I am still waiting for the mat to be less slippery. I do yoga about twice a week. I often run before class, so I usually start class a bit sweaty. I find myself sliding quite a bit in downward dog pose (hands and feet). I did the salt treatment the first day I got it. The sliding has gotten a little less over time, but to me it takes away from this great mat it is supposed to be. I am honestly disappointed. I have another mat that was replaced by the Manduka black mat pro, and even though it's all worn down, I don't slide at all on that mat. That one was specifically a non-slip mat however. The way all my yoga friends were talking though, I thought for sure that I would not be sliding on a Manduka mat.

I am enjoying my new mat.... and extra space... a bit big and bulky, as well as heavy. I really like the color and finding that over time the slick finish is wearing into a sticky mat.... the smell is finally dissipating. Overall I am bonding with my new Yoga Mat

I had high hopes for this mat. Several of my fellow yogis use Manduka mats and they love them. I love the length, I am tall so with shorter mats I would find my forehead on the floor of the studio sometimes and I love the thickness. My issue is with the smoother surface when compared to other mats I have used. I wonder if I have sweaty palms because I find in some poses, such as Downward Dog, my hands slip even with a "death grip" on the mat. I had to buy a yoga towel, and this helps somewhat, but it wasn't my intention to have to take a mat and towel to class.

I've been using this mat for about two months now, and while I love the extra length/width and thickness of the mat, it's still incredibly slippery. I did the salt trick twice to try to break it in but it didn't seem to help. I've slipped several times while in poses and have gone back to my old mat for fear of hurting myself. Overall I'm pretty disappointed.

This matt is wasy to slick, can't even do downward dog without my hands and feet slippy out. I mainly do Yin classes so I don't feel like this should be an issue. Manduka suggestion is that it needs time to break in and I should I purchase a towel. This matt is expensive as is considering I bought a long to and now am having to look at buying a towel. Wish it was cleary stated break in time and that you could expect this matt to be slick.

This came highly recommended. Its a little big / heavy. Most important when you sweat it does not manage this well at all. I was going to return...but did not want to deal with all of that...

Like others, I really wanted to love this mat. It's a very sturdy quality mat, nice and long, but it's slippery- and I'm not doing hot yoga - I only slightly perspire. I've had it for over a month, used it daily and have scrubbed and scrubbed and dried in the sun several times, and salted and scrubbed - you get the idea. It's just too much work to hope it gets to 'non slip'. I am sorry to have to return it, (I feel like I'm disappointing Zappos). For me one of the most important features of a yoga mat is non slippage and cushioning. They have got the cushioning down and for the cost you'd hope that the slippage part was covered. I'm opting for a different brand - less work and will be returning. Thank you Zappos you are still awesome.

My yoga instructor recommended I invest in the best yoga mat on the market, Manduka. This mat weighs a ton so it's hard to carry in and out of yoga class, but I also bought the carrying bag so that helps. I could not carry it without the bag. I do yoga many times a week and have had this mat since April of 2012. It's awful and I wish I hadn't bought it. I slip and slip and worry about slipping and then slip some more. I've tried salt, cleaners, using a damp cloth, everything! It's getting worse! Forget hot yoga. The more I sweat, the more I slip. I'm now looking into a long mat towel to salvage using the mat. I wish I had paid more attention to how long I had owned this, I would have returned it!!

Hello. I bought Manduka Black Mat Pro Extra Long mat and two cork blocks from you a month ago and Manduka straps from Zalando to carry the mat on my back. The mat is great, but your Manduka straps are not as good I expected, actually they are not good at all. The little pocket with them is too little, I cannot put my shorts and t-shirt into it. I was looking for several days from all possible online shops the bag for Black Mat Pro Extra Long mat, but I could not find one single online shop not even yours!!! which would have said "this bag is big enough to the largest mats". And all the bags I could possible think would be big enough were sold out. I really wanted to find a bag where I could put my shorts, t-shirt, little towel and water bottle to side pocket and carry them on my back.

After purchasing this mat I salted it several times, brought a spray bottle with me to class and bought a towel to place over it and it just never worked! I tried to sell it and no one would buy it so I finally just gave it away!
