I bought this mat a few months ago and I LOVE it. I did have to "break it in" with a couple salt scrubs, and I did an additional scrub with diluted baby shampoo. It took much of the slipperiness away. I practice hot yoga so I pair it with an Equa towel. The cushioning is great for the knees and back, providing support without "squishiness". I have told everyone I know to get one of these!

My black sage extra long pro mat is the best mat I've ever owned! Not only is it comfortable in all poses the grip is unmatched. After the salt scrub to break it in about a month of practice and it grips like a gekko on a glass pane! Thanks Manduka! W Bourne

Heavy duty oversized mats. Really worth the extra buck. Own two already and wouldn't shop elsewhere for any other.

I've been using my Manduka mat daily for more than a year and it's as "new" as the day I bought it. Love the perfect cushion and how it stays clean. Lifetime yoga mat!

I put off buying a yoga mat for several years, and man, I am thankful that I bought this one. The extra length and overall quality is perfect. Make sure you treat it with sea salt the way they recommend. Treating it was fun and a kind of birth ritual... also made it much less slippery.

I was given my mat for Christmas 7 months ago. I teach 12 classes a week and my mat hangs right in with me.

My husband is 6'4 and struggled to find a mat long enough. He really likes this mat. It is heavy but he says carrying it is part of his workout.

Great product! Didn't notice much of a chemical smell when it arrived. Sticky enough to hold downward dog, but I do need to use a towel during hot yoga or I start to slip a little. The only drawback to this mat is that it IS heavy, but it is sturdy and comfortable. Love it!

I'm 5'10 with a 36 inseams so after discovering hot yoga 2 years ago, I'm finally searching for the perfect mat that doesn't require a towel on top to prevent slipping. This is a quality mat but doesn't prevent my hands from slipping. Thanks Zappos for easy return policy!

Bomb proof yoga mat. Built to last a lifetime. I have practiced on it for 3 weeks and it continues to break in and get stickier by the day. Only thing to mention, it isn't the thickest feeling mat under your knees in cat/cow etc. However, this is the same feature that provides excellent stability in standing poses. It may become softer with use but that is why I gave it 4 stars for comfort.

I bought this mat about a month ago and have used it several times now. I am typically a hot power flow type yogi but also practice at home. I find that even at home when I'm not sweating profusely, I slip in down dog. I used the salt for 24 hours method before I used it and I still slip. The Grip mat may have been better suited to my practice but I had heard such fabulous things about the cushy PRO mats, that I really wanted to try it. This mat is definitely cushy and has plenty of room to roam and flow without having to adjust to try to stay on the mat. The mat does not slip at all on the floor. That is a huge bonus for me. My last mat did. Overall, it is a really good mat.

Mat fits me very well at 6'2" Grip is less than I thought it would have for hot yoga.

I really like this mat. I had knee surgery this year, and the cushioning means a lot to me. I also like having a little extra length on my mat. It's quite heavy - almost 10lbs.

Overall I am pleased with this purchase. The thickness and size (I went for the XL size, as I'm 6'3'') are perfect. The only minor problem is that the grip is not quite as good as some other mats I've used, and it is particularly problematic when I sweat more than usual. A great mat that I would certainly recommend.

I love this mat! It's super supportive and comfortable. I'm so glad it comes in long as I am a fairly tall person. I did the salt break in process 3 times and it's still a little slippery but the more I use it the less slippery it gets.

Love the thickness. I probably need to do the salt thing, I wish it came treated. The extra length is really nice for home practice and keeping my face off the dirty floor, but it feels antisocial in a crowded studio. Keep in mind that the regular pro also has a few inches on a standard mat.

I fell in love with this mat right away. Very dense and supportive. Love that I got the extra long version. Could be stickier but I know it gets better with lots and lots of use so I just need to keep practicing!

I received this mat 2+ weeks ago. I was pressed for time when I decided which mat I wanted so did not spend much time on the website before buying. This mat has the features I want...extra length and thickness. However, I have yet to use it since it has instructions for the break-in process. I thought I would just open the package and wipe off the mat before zipping off to yoga. Instead, I must sprinkle it liberally with sea salt and let it sit for 24 hrs. I do not have the place or the space so it's just sitting in the corner for now.

I thought the weight of it would not bother me, but it is quite heavy to carry back and forth to a yoga studio. I think I would have preferred the Manduka ProLite after all. This mat was very slippery when I first used it. It definitely needed to be rubbed with salt as recommended to improve. At 5'10", I am glad I got the long version, which no doubt adds to its weight as well. I have only used it for a few weeks, but it looks like it will last forever.

I am training to become a yoga teacher and wanted a better mat for my practice. This mat is very thick and durable. It was very slippery when I first used it and I found it needed the salt conditioning treatment twice. The slipperiness has diminished as I have used the mat. It is also fairly heavy, about 10 lbs, and thus not as easy to carry so I may purchase a lighter mat to take to the yoga studio and keep this one for home use.

So excited to finally have a mat long enough! No more being on the studio floor. Wish we didn't have to do the salt scrub but beyond that it's perfect! Can't wait to see what forever looks like!

I have used it only 4 times. Nice mat with great grip, (ideal for hot yoga), but too heavy and cumbersome to carry from home to studio. I wish Manduka makes a mat that is lifetime durable but lighter to carry. That is why I rate it as four not five stars.
