Love these boots but the inside materials on the right boot dug into my ankle. Would've kept them, they are really nice -stylish, sturdy, and comfy

I use these for hiking. I wish the finish on the leather was more resistant then it is. The Finish Mars instantly so you have to do something before you wear them outside or they will scratch indelibly.

I think, it's very stylish and good looking shoes. also very comfortable, only one issue is that, I ordered dark brown, and received brown shoes instead.
I's a sad story. but what can I do, I Won't go to Strasburg courts for this case.
Good luck.

I wear these boots to work and for just hanging out. I'm on my feet a lot and these boots don't make my feet feel tired. You can wear them with jeans or slacks and still look stylish.

Perfect fit . Very comfortable from day one. Light, yet with the right sole stiffness . Not tested on rugged terrain yet.

Make a mistake in size. Instead of 10.5, it was necessary to order 11

THE REVIEW YOU NEED: Timberland Earthkeepers® Mt. Maddsen Mid Waterproof
THE FACTS: Good boot, well made and from a known brand. These Earthkeepers are comfortable enough to wear all day and are well suited for rugged outdoor use as well as city stomping. Another key factor is the weight of this boot; it is stunningly light - as it should be. The materials used are sturdy but without the lagging weight of a work boot or the older trail boots. The width was surprisingly good, and works well with a variety of socks including thicker boot/winter socks. The arch and general support is good -but- this review is based on low miles so far, so we will have to see how these boots feel a few months down the road.
THE ODD: Zappos was fast! Perhaps because of being an Amazon Prime member, perhaps because they are good at what they do. The "odd" comes in because my original item in my cart was this same model of boot in a totally different colour, that errored out of my cart and was instantly unavailable during checkout so I had to order the only other style available in my size and width: the basic black boot... not my original choice at all. This is why the Style experience is 2/5.
MORE ODD... these boots were not 'new' from the manufacturer. The box had tape at the opening flap that had been cut, and upon inspection, it was clear that this pair of Earthkeepers had been returned to Zappos and resold to me. One boot (L) was unlaced, missing its paper fills, and had a slight scuff around the edge of the toe. The other boot (R) was perfect and probably wasn't "tried on". I did not return the item because I realize that this happens and people return items, it is a minor complaint but as a first time Zappos shopper (for myself) I would have like to seen the package properly 'refurbished' - This is why the overall experience is 4/5.
IN SHORT: This is an excellent purpose made, lightweight hiking boot with strong construction and all-day comfort... just make sure to get the colour/style you want.

Good overall boot. The only negative is the attachment of the uppers to the sole. Looks like extra material left on the seams of the shoe were they connect. Makes it look like sloppy finishing of the shoe.

Great for casual wear. May not be stable enough for hiking.

I've had several Timberland boots over the years, typically the 6", but was looking for something a little more versatile. These seem to be just as solid, but a little lighter and good for hiking or jobs that require a little more mobility. Very comfortable so far (though I've only worn them once), and already being waterproof is huge for winters in New England.
Only issue I have is that both boots came a little scuffed, and even the stuffing was just laid on top of them in the box (instead of inside the shoe). The soles were still in perfect condition, so it doesn't appear they were really used, and not enough of an issue for me to exchange them.

Wear with jeans, shorts, casual pants. Will use on trails for casual hikes, but not serious rocks. Have not really tested the 'waterproof' feature.

Ordered once before and loved the fit and feel. Ordered again a year later and I had to return due to shoe causing pain on toes where the shoe creased.

The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars is because I have not worn the shoes long enough to write or comment anything pertaining to durability.
I use these boots for work. I walk between 5-7 miles daily for work and these boots have been wonderful!
This is my 3.5-4th week of wearing them daily for work. The only con that I see is that the toe area is a little stiff, other than that, this boot has been great to me so far!! So thank you Timberland for providing me with an excellent work boot!

Like the boots alot but FedEx delivery is terrible. Fedex man said repeatedly he left package on door step but my security camera doesn't lie. Bottom line, FedEx's employee lied about delivery and got away with it. Won't be ordering anything else as long as there is no accountability. Shame because I really like Timberland.

Bought these as a gift for my husband. He has really wide feet - hard to find hiking boots in wide in our stores locally. We had a trip to a state park scheduled, and Zappos’ service and delivery is unmatched. He said they were pretty comfortable out of the box - would likely feel perfect after a couple of wears. Can’t speak to the waterproofing aspect since it was a fairly dry summer and we stayed on trails. Style wise, they are sharp and just what he was looking for. Overall I think it was a good purchase!

Mine are grey, size 15 wide and I am 6'4" 245lbs, I use orthotic insoles. I've worn them hiking a few times now and lived in them all of last weekend. They are in fact waterproof as advertised, but that makes them a little hot (duh). They are comfy, tighten up in the right places and I felt like a mountain goat on the high rocky trails we were on. The gray nubuck is a dust magnet but cleans up easily. I love them.

I wear these boots everyday. I am considering buying a second pair so that I have one pair for everyday use and one pair for when beat up work boots won't work for the occasion.

These boots are very comfortable right from the box. The soles have excellent traction. I've walked on concrete and worn them while cutting firewood and other outside work for hours with no problems or discomfort. The laces were too long so I cut off 4" and sealed the cut ends. Excellent quality for and a great value.

Amazing. I have a narrow heel and am wide in the balls of the feet. I tried on countless wide boots at a local outdoor outfitter, many at more than double the price of these. They were all either too tight in the toe box or too wide and loose in the heel. These fit perfectly. I don’t know why some reviewers are saying these are too tight in the toe box. They have a generous toe box which is what I need.

I use this for hiking. I've had this hiking boots for years and often order new ones every year or two depending on wear and tear. It's always been consistent and fits like a new glove every time.

Overall the shoes are great. Use them as a daily work boot for metal roofing. Grip is amazing. 10/12 pitch no problem at all. Only issue I have is the left shoe top buckle rubs against my ankle bone a lot and causes pain. Can't keep them fully laced all day. Not sure if it's my foot or the shoe.
