I used this pair of boots mainly for hikes w < 40 lb load, be it day hikes or 12-day trekking, on rainy mountain trails or on dry terrains covered with pebbles. Sometimes I could feel the rock or roots when I step on them; but it did not bother me since I was not carrying too much weight. I always sprayed anti-wetting agent on the boots before going on rainy trails, and the boots always kept my feet dry even if I had to walk on trails with "running water" for up to two hours.

These seem good. we tried on a ton of other options and these seem like great lightweight hikers that could also be goos lightweight workboots but these do not have a steel tow. seem well made and nice soles

I love these boots. These are my second pair. My first pair did rip on the seam on the left foot within the first year but I still decided to get another pair because they're comfortable and stylish for what I do.

Tread is not too deep so probably not the best for very rough terrain. Being picky, laces are too long!

First pair of Timberlands I have owned. They seem pretty good so far. Time will tell the whole story. I like the laces in that they untie easily.

It is well-built, made for rugged terrain. Hard sole that is not very flexible, appropriate for rugged terrain. Not comfortable for me, but I can see people who want a rugged shoe/boot liking it. It is a good shoe, just too much for me.

Ordered the wide option and fits true too width. Regular runs narrow. Otherwise very happy with the purchase.

Bought these days before backpacking trip b/c my others failed and needed something I could use right away. There is virtually no break-in and they are comfortable. And the price is right. But the toe caps and soles are already separating after just a few backpacking trips. There is not a lot of ankle support for serious hiking with a load. I like these boots. But these are for hiking, not backpacking over rough terrain. I'll likely shift to another boot for that use.

This was the last pair at this size for Grey color. Darker color and larger for some reason than the current pair I have of Identical boot and color / size.

Seems to be a very nice shoe. I just bought it and am very pleased with the design, quality, and feel. Does seem to run a little bit larger than other shoes I have purchased from Timberland's, though.

I bought these for winter time in Seattle and they do serve this purpose pretty well. Waterproof and warm. I would also wear them for some easy hiking but the sole seem bit slippery on wet surfaces so better have microspikes handy if going to wet or snowy/icy areas. Definitely wouldn't risk going out with them for a multi-week backpacking trip in wilderness. The shoe laces were complete disappointment and I had to replace them right after receiving the product. Timberland actually makes some good 47 inch replacement shoe laces that could be purchased from their website for $5.

I wear size 9.5 to 10 ...size 10 has never been small for me sometimes a bit large. I ordered size 10 and they were too small my big toe touched the front of boot. They look very nice however there is not much padding in my opinion> I returned and am ordering size 10.5 and may put a sole insert inside for more padding if there is room.

After looking for a decent hiking boot around a $100, I decided that these boots were the best option. They are comfortable and seem well-made. Time will tell. I do wish the sides of the boots were just one solid piece of leather rather than the different pieces with a lot of seams, but the leather is a good quality and I think they will hold-up fine. It's more of an aesthetic thing. I just think simple leather hiking boots look nice without a lot meaningless designs on them. I will say that these boots are not half as bad in this aspect as some others in the same price range. One thing I will criticize a bit is the sole. While they seem to have decent traction, I wish the lugs were deeper. Overall though these are good boots, especially for the price.

Ended up getting a second pair in black. Great shoes. Durable - mix terrain - no too heavy. Can also wear them casually around town. Breathable. Even wear them in summer. Would and have recommend them to others.

Men's 7EE fit really well. They're light and comfortable, and the instep area is large enough to accommodate my high arch and orthotics. The supplied insole, though, was flat and uncomfortable, so I replaced it with an old, broken-in insole from an old pair of shoes and now I'm happy and comfortable wearing these.

I was reluctant to get these but after some "seemingly" higher quality Salewa boots gave me some terrible blisters, I decided to follow the thousands of positive reviews. They are surprisingly solid boots for the $100 range. I had a pair or Timberland Eurohikers for 20+ years and they were great but heard Timberland's quality has suffered in the last 10 years. We shall see, but for $100 if they last me three solid years of heavy us, I cant complain.
