I ordered both the Arctic Parka and the Tremaya but ultimately picked the Tremaya since it was a little longer, felt heavier, and had more pockets and I just liked the look/fit overall better. After a few weeks of wear, I absolutely love this parka! It keeps me super warm while facing the sub-zero wind chills of Chicago, yet is well-ventilated so I don't overheat while commuting. It has five easily accessible but slim pockets on the outside and an interior media pocket. The hood is warm and has an extendable flap to help further shield from sleet/snow/rain and can be tightened. If you need a functional coat for a cold climate that's still sporty/polished, the Tremaya is a great pick!

This parka is magical. I am a college student and I spend at least an hour each day walking around campus in the freezing cold - I am completely immune to the weather in this coat. The advantage of this jacket over other jackets is that it has the Gore-Tex outer layer to keep you dry when it is drizzly and cold, but it also has super powerful insulation. I highly recommend this coat to anyone!

I was ready for A North Face upgrade because the primaloft wasn't warm enough for me- especially for the Northeast winters. I'm 5'5" and 132lbs, so I ordered the medium, but it was snug with the sides buttoned. I couldn't find any option to keep it unbuttoned without the tabs just dangling on the sides, but it was uncomfortable if I buttoned it. So, I exchanged it for the next size up, but that ended up being way too big. Except for the fitting issues (which I give North Face credit for trying), it is a very warm coat. However, I think it is overkill with all the little features which can be annoying, such as magnetic closures. I literally stood outside my car to put the coat on and the magnets kept clinging to the car! The magnets will also close when your trying to take the coat off. Also, every time I tried to put the coat on, my hands would get stuck in the fleece lining of the sleeves. I couldn't figure those out . So for warmth, it is excellent. It's definitely heavy duty and waterproof for those nasty New England winters. And If you want a coat that keeps you entertained with all the little features, I can't imagine a better candidate. But it's just such a complicated parka. I prefer warm, waterproof, stylish and easy. They certainly got 3 out of 4.

Great Parka. It was worth the investment. I live in Minneapolis, MN and the parka has kept me warm even on the coldest days.

I LOVE this jacket! I commute to work via public transportation and this jacket has kept me nice and toasty while I wait outside in the single digit temps. Plenty of pockets while still being stylish and the magnetic button front flap is great. The length is perfect; long enough but not too long to the point it's awkward when sitting down. I highly recommend this jacket!

This coat kept me both warm and dry during my trip to northern Finland where temperatures are VERY COLD. I am 5'5, 118 lbs. and got a size small. I wish I would've ordered an x-small so it hugged my curves a bit more, but no big deal. Lots of pockets with zippers, which I loved. Very functional. Overall this is a well made, durable coat that I'll have for many years.

I was after a super durable coat that would last 5 or so years, water & wind resistant and stylish. This coat has it all but doesn't seem durable. The sleeves have nylon/spandex to keep the warmth in so you have to push your arms into the sleeves each time you put the coat on. This tugs on all the stitches and I cannot see it lasting a long time so I returned it.

Really love this coat for walking to class on campus. Super warm, totally waterproof. I love the options you have to remove the whole hood, or just the fur trim. I wish there was a size in between XS and SM. There's just a huge difference between those two sizes.

I haven't decided whether I'm going to keep this jacket yet. In terms of sizing, my measurements are 35-26-35 and the XS was much too tight. The S fits better, but the bottom half is so, so puffy. I feel enormous in it. I live in NYC which is cold-ish, but not so cold that function comes entirely before fashion. I plan to look at some other coats and then decide whether to return this one. Please note I'm only 5'0" so this coat may look better proportioned on a taller person.

Love, love, love this coat. Stylish as it looks more like a thick coat than a down jacket, yet super warm, and completely water- and wind-proof. Perfect shield for cold and nasty winter days!

This coat is very warm - not for moderate weather. It is 100% waterproof and has served me well in all sorts of winter weather. The magnetic button closure is super convenient, there are mitten-like hand protectors in the sleeve for extra cold days, lots of pockets, and the hood has a lip to divert water from dripping on your face when it's raining. It fits somewhat small, I would order a size up especially if you plan on wearing thick layers underneath. Definitely recommend.

Got it last year when I just moved to toronto from a subtropical region. I survived my first winter because of it! I love how durable it is. And the magnetic buttons and the "fist wrappers" are smart! However, zip could be tricky and sometimes my hair got stuck by the magnetic button... Anyway I love this jacket

My husband bought me a TNF coat for Christmas last year that I didn't love so I brought it back to the store. I have 3 other TNF winter coats (and several lighter ones), but two don't fit and one I don't like, so he's been on a quest to get me a new one. I am kinda short with shortish arms and very big hips relative to the rest of me, so finding a jacket..particularly a LONG jacket..is a challenge at best. I happened to spot this one on a rack and wasn't going to try it on based on the assumption that it wouldn't fit over my hips. LO and behold, it DID! It ticked every single box for what I wanted in a coat: warm enough for New England winters, covers my butt, has a furry hood (to keep away the snow/rain) that detaches, lots of pockets, has some shape, easy to zipper..it also had features that I didn't even know that I wanted, but are now must-haves: the foldover cuffs inside the sleeves, the MAGNETIC buttons (amazing when I'm just running my dog out for a quick pee in freezing temps!!), the adjustable waist, wind/rainproof... I can't state enough how much I LOVE this coat. I have gained weight and was lucky enough to find an XL in the store in gray (which is what I wanted) and I've told my husband that if I ever manage to lose weight, I'll be buying it in whatever size I need (please don't discontinue!). Due to a bum thyroid and living near Boston, I'm ALWAYS freezing. All winter. No matter what. Not anymore. I honestly want to take a nap in this coat sometimes. I got it after Christmas last year (obviously, since I was exchanging a gift!), so I only got about 4 months out of it...Now, I'm OBSESSED with summer. I'm in my pool and in the sun every day and would leave New England for warmer climes in one split second if it weren't for family...I look forward to hot weather all year...this year, I actually felt SAD that the cold was ending because I wouldn't be able to wear this again for a while. That was an emotion I'd never experienced before! LOL.

I just received this coat and I am in love! I will be going to college in Vermont this fall and this will definitely keep me warm during the brutal winters. There are lots of cool features (lots of pockets, really soft inner sleeves, detachable fur & hood, magnetic buttons on the front) and I love how stylish it is. I am 5'8 and about 125 pounds and the small fits great, with enough room to wear another layer underneath. Highly recommend this to anyone wanting a warm, fashionable winter coat.

This is the warmest coat. The down is completely capable to keep winter out and instantly start insulating. This is a cold weather coat so it gets hot when it hits 40º. The pockets are a bit weird, it says military style cuz of the little flap but that part is fake and it has normal slant pockets. The hood is amazing. Adjustable and legit. The magnetic snaps are also super convenient so you don't have to zip up just heading from the car inside. The cuff turns into a tight mitten for those times you need to keep your hands warm without messing with gloves!

I love this jacket - It's so incredibly warm + perfect for those who have to endure winters that reach -10 and below. I used to struggle with finding a jacket because of how unflattering they can be, but this one is wonderful because of the waist belts on the side... actually give you a shape!! 100% recommend this jacket.

I was skeptical at first with not having a store with this jacket in stock but I took the chance and ordered it anyway. I do not regret it. The jacket fits true to size and in 10 weather with windchill only my knees are cold.

Gift to my profession CPA daughter. She loved it. I almost didn't give it to her, because I wanted to keep it for myself. It is a style that I just loved. They say the best gift is one you would purchase for yourself. Enough said. Except, pick me, so I can buy one for myself.

I've had this coat now for 2 winters so I feel I can adequately evaluate its awesomeness. I live in Philadelphia but I've used this coat in Tahoe, Maine, Upstate NY and other pretty cold locales (-15 windchills etc). I'm 5'4 and petite, usually a size 8/10 and went with the large and that fit nicely with enough room for layers, I think I could have gotten away with a M but I have a 32F chest and that always bumps me up a size, arm sleeve length is a little long but nothing problematic. The jacket goes a little past my knees and almost swallows me up whole which makes mobility a little bit of an issue if you need to bend over but I can manage ie this isn't a jacket for doing much activity in besides walking! Honestly I mainly use this coat to walk my shepherds in the winter and on very cold days walking to work--the only thing that is ever cold is the gap between the top of my boots (Bogs, amazing boot co. for cold weather btw) and the bottom of my coat. I will say if its above 20F I need to wear this coat unzipped as I get overheated easily, its THAT insulated! And I wouldn't dare wear this coat if its above 40F as you will be dying of heat exhaustion so its really made for cold weather areas The fur and everything have really held up well to getting wet etc and the added hat/extended neck guard is nice and pretty much negates needing a hat and you could manage without a scarf if you really needed to on a cold day. It's not super flattering but I do appreciate that it has a smooth/sleek design so it minimizes the puffiness as much as possible/no visible quilting Seems like a lot of $$ for a winter coat but its SO worth it!
