I am cursed with Flintstone Feet - wide and thick, like blocks. I had hoped that by ordering a size up and a wide width on these, my feet might fit into them. But no such luck. I could not cram them in further than an inch or so past my toes! No give at all on the top, so if you are like me and have trouble with shoes being way too small/tight over the top of your foot, stay away from these.

Horribly disappointed. I'm a nurse and fell in love with the Merrell shoes I used to have. These are not the same! Wish I could return them but they've been exposed to a germy hospital now.

Very disappointed in the quality. Side by side comparison of my old Merrells, it's hard to believe this is the same manufacturer. The sole of my old shoes is 1/2-3/4" wider than the new "W" width of the new ones. I wouldn't even be replacing them except that the inside lining is completely shot. Moving on to a different maker, more expensive but at least I might get the quality I think I deserve.

I've worn Merrell Encores for years. The Nova 2 in black leather was dull -it looked like extremely cheap leather. This has been returned.

I have been buying Merrell shoes for a few years now. I work in the food industry and I found that Merrell was a good match for me. Normally the shoes were comfortable and also easy to clean after a long day in the kitchen. I have purchased a couple of pair over the last few years and I have found that something is different. Much more stiff and not nearly as comfortable as years past. I'm not sure if people were complaining about durability and they thought to fix it, or maybe they wanted to save money. Clearly, something is different. I have spent long hours in these shoes over the years. I'm telling you something is different. I recommend that you try these on. Go to the store. See for yourself. I promise you, it may save you some time. Plus, you may find a better shoe.

Zappos was kind enough to allow me to return these after I had worn them. This is my second pair of the exact same shoes. They are not the same shoes now as my previous pair; they are made overseas and the padded insole and support are gone. They made my feet hurt so badly I could barely take a step. My love affair with Merrell is over! My feet felt bruised from ball to heel, like someone had taken a ball bat to them. It is taking now weeks for my feet to heal. I have gone with NAOT shoes now. Zappos sells them, and while more expensive they are comfortable!

My entire family basically only wears Merrells and Natives. They're just PERFECT.

This shoe was recommend to me by my foot doctor. I use my own orthotics in it. This shoe is very comfortable and offers great support. I have a pair in black and brown and would love to get another pair in black if they come back in stock in my size. Highly recommend this shoe for comfort and durability!

These Merrells are a very sturdy slip on shoe. The leather is very nice and this makes them feel a little heavy when I first started to wear them. I think I was so used to wearing the Easy Spirit Travel slip ons which are light weight. They were very comfortable once I got used to the "sturdiness" of them. The footbed can be removed easily for orthotic insertion! I found that the leather did relax a little but they do not stretch over time. My feet feel great when I wear these Merrells!

I love these, have worn them to work (8-10 hours straight on my feet) all summer. In the winter I wear the fuzzy lined Encores. Please consider making these available in other colors- gray with black sole, burgundy with black sole, maybe a lighter tan. I don't wear black clothes in summer and the black clogs are beautifully styled but the color is harsh for summer. Thanks!

Having worn my last pair to the ground after six years of use, I was relieved to still be able to buy this model. They're my all-day indoor shoes. Very comfortable!

These are my second pair. I have a VERY high arch so I need a wide width shoe. These are my go to slip on dog walking shoes and go to slip on run to the market shoes! I also have plantar fasciitis and these shoes offer the proper support. Thanks Merrell for making a wide width!

Nice Size 5.5W pair of shoes but ... I switch out the original insoles with my orthodiscs and that makes it too narrow. I would order it in a 5.5 WW but its not offered in WW. NOTE: If I didn't need to switch out the original insoles with my orthodics, the 5.5W would be perfect. I give this shoe a 5 star overall rating because its a great shoe ... its my orthodics that make the shoe too sung.

Nice Size 6W pair of shoes but ... I have to switch out the original insoles with my own orthodics and would normally wear a 6W but these were too long and a little snug in the width. So, I ordered a pair in 5.5W thinking that maybe, eventually they might stretch out a little widthwise but now ... the length is perfect but its much too narrow. Bought these for work as a nurse 12 hour shifts. Needs more arch support. They're a little wide. My foot was rubbed red in one spot probably because they're kinda loose. I will try an insert.

Lightweight and comfortable. No breaking in period.

I have loved Merrell shoes for over a decade. My old clogs had really taken a beating over the past ten years, so I ordered the pair above in the size of my previous pair. This shoe is beautiful and the left one fit like a glove. However, the right shoe was a bit narrow. WHAT to do? I didn't want to return them for a wider pair since the left fit so well. The answer? I purchased a shoe stretcher from Amazon for the right shoe. Now I'm in heaven!!

I really like these shoes...my only complaint is that they scuff really easily, just from normal wear. This could present a problem if one wants the shoe for more occasions than just errands and around the house. If they were nubuck, that would not be an issue. Do like the fit of the wide and called Merrell and requested that they carry more woman's shoes in wide.

Extremely comfortable, true to size and accomodates my high in-step that results in having to return many styles. As always, Zappos shipping policy and purchaser reviews were critical to my decision on which size to order.

In 2014, I bought the black Merrell Encore Nova 2. This model is my No. 1 walk-around-the-house shoe. Recently, I bought the same model in brown -- only because I wanted a new color. It took about a day for it to break in.
