Originally I ordered Frye Melissa Button with the risk that they might be too tight for my calves. I took the risk because I preferred the Cognac Washed Antique color. Unfortunately, they were too tight for my muscular calves. I returned them for Frye Melissa Button Boot Extended pair despite that Zappos did not carry the color that I wanted. (I ordered just plain Cognac instead.) These are nice boots! I wish they would carry more yellow-tan color, though! If you are the person that could smell leather all day, then Frye is for you!

As a girl with athletic calves I have always had trouble with jeans and especially riding boots. I pretty much gave up on ever finding boots that fit properly. I was nervous about just how much wider these are compared to the original (¼" if I am not mistaken) but they are perfect. I have finally found the boots for me, it is so worth it and this time of year if you look hard enough you can find them for sale. The proportions are perfect, its a little difficult to squeeze your foot in at first but walk around in them for a few minutes and you will know exactly what I mean. Do not hesitate! I expect to have these for years to come.

Zaps really came through! Saw these at a local shoe store, they did not have my size in black. Was told "I would offer to order them for you, but it just takes so long to get them in". Came home, looked them up on Zappos Saturday afternoon. Paid the extra money for one day shipping. They arrived today (Monday) and fit perfectly! Great boots, great quality! All leather, not like cheaper boots with rubber soles. Thanks Zappos!

I am a weightlifter and usually have huge problems with boots (and jeans but that is another story) so I ordered the wide calf in these. I can get them on with jeans tucked in so super happy with that. They smell amazing which has nothing to do with anything, just thought I would share. They are comfortable and I can tell that they will be around for years and years. Curious that the measurements on the non wide calf seen to essentially be the same with a lot more color options so when I can justify dropping more money on boots I may just try those.

Love these boots! I worried about the extended calf being tight based on other reviews but they are fine! I can wear my skinny jeans and leggings with plenty of room. I got the cognac and get compliments every time I wear them. Worth the price tag!

I bought these for my daughter for Christmas; she has a couple other pairs of Frye boots and has been happy with the quality. They are a classic style, and the color (a dark brown) is very pretty and will go with anything. She wears them mostly with jeans or leggings. We bought the "extended" ones because the regular ones were a bit tight--not sure why, because my daughter is an athletic size 2/4 and has "normal" calves. She says that these are more comfortable than the regular ones, which were too tight in the calf.

Love these boots! After reading the other reviews I was a bit hesitant about the fit. I have muscular athletic calves and the fit is great!

These are fantastic boots! I've tried on/inspected over 50 pairs of boots in the year that I've been looking for a pair, and finally decided that these were worth the price - the materials and craftsmanship is impeccable, and every detail is perfect. The extended calf is only slightly larger than the regular calf, and fits perfectly for my 5'7" frame with an average bone structure. They are fairly true to size - I wear a 10 shoe and a 9.5 cowboy boot, and decided to go with the 10s on these but they're a wee bit roomy. They are brand new so I can't report on their durability, but am happy with them so far! Highly recommended.

Amazing boot. I never imagined that a 1/4" extension would help. I am a size 6.5, so the expectation is little feet mean little legs. Not true. I am a triathlete and built like an athlete. This boot allowed me to have great boots that are not too tight in the calf, but not too big like a large calf boot would be.

This is my second pair of Melissa Button Boots and get compliments on them all the time. Their casual and elegant at the same time I got the extended calf...buy them a little snug, they will stretch. Love them.

The Melissa Button Boot is beautiful! I ordered in the Cognac which is so rich and classic. The quality of the leather is superb and smells heavenly. Unfortunately I had to return them because I ordered a wide calf (based on many reviews that the calf ran small) to find that they were way too big on me... I have an average calf. I believe that other styles of Frye boots (the ones with a zipper) run 1" smaller than this pull-on Melissa and I would probably need to either stretch those or order a wide calf. This Melissa Button has a 15" calf on the regular with is average. So ladies, look at the calf measurements because they do vary from style to style. Again, GORGEOUS BOOT.
