Love these boots! I'm 4'10", 125 lbs. I needed something with a wider calf and a shorter shaft. They work perfecting and I get compliments all the time!

I have 15 inch calfs and searched to find the right boots to wear with skinny jeans and other clothes that gave me room and were not tight. These boots are perfect! I wear an 8.5 shoe and bought an 8.5 and the fit is great. I bought the dark brown and love the color. I highly recommend.

I was a little hesitant to buy these as I weren't sure if they'd fit my calves (about 16.5-17"). They didn't fit at first but I took them to a shoe repair to be stretched. After a few days on the stretcher they fit! They are still a little saggy by the ankles, but I love them & I think they'll stretch a little more after more wear.

These are great boots! My calves are 15 1/4 inches and these fir perfectly. I love the cognac color. Also, the Dorado fit my larger calves but were too tall for me (I'm 5' 6").

Love! I have what I perceive as very normal calves (albeit muscular), but nonetheless getting extended solved my issue perfectly and they still look good / just like my friends who have the original. They can be a little narrow on the toe, but I think I have slightly abnormal and differently sized feet (plus I wear a lot of moccasins and toms-shoes that don't ask much structure). While expensive, I think the high quality will definitely pay off in the end, and I want them in another color already!

These were great- I was able to get them over my athletic calves however did end up spending a little extra money to have the tops stretched so that they're not too snug around my jeans tucked in. Overall I'm happy about the color, and love the vintage look. I've gotten a lot of compliments on them, and I did size up 1/2 a size so that I can wear thicker socks in the winter.

Love these boots! They were a little stiff for the first couple of times I wore them, but they are breaking in nicely and getting more and more comfortable.

These, my friends, are riding boots. Soft, classy, and timeless. I opted for the wide calf version based on reviews of the regular circumference shaft and I am happy I did. These fit me just as I wanted right out of the box - no crossing my fingers that the leather would stretch to hopefully fit me properly in the future. When/if they do eventually stretch I do not anticipate to be swimming in them the way other extended calf boots can sometimes make me look. I love 'em!

I am in love with these boots. This is my first pair of leather boots and they are gorgeous and classic. They fit really well and are true to size. My calf size is 14 in so I went with the extended and I have plenty of room. They are so comfortable, but I will say that the leather sole is a bit slippery in the beginning so I wouldn't try to walk on wet surfaces until they are a bit worn in. I used the weatherproof spray from Frye and I can't wait until the next time I get to wear them!

Extended calf did the trick. I have never needed extended calf but the regular boot was very narrow. LOVE this boot - comfortable & stylish!

I bought the extended calf Melissa boot in size 7. I am 5 ft 3 in, 140 lbs, roughly a size 8 in clothing, and usually a 7 in shoes. These boots fit perfectly, even with a skinny jean tucked in. I have plenty of room for a mid-weight sock, too. Leather is beautiful!! This look is pretty casual, but can be dressed up a little. Love my boots. Worth the investment.

I love these boots! They are comfortable right away, no breaking in period, and have a comfort heel Inside. Kind of like a soft built in orthotic. They fit over my wide calves and are even a little loose after wearing with skinny jeans a few times. I am 5'1" and these are tall but not too tall that they hit my knee. I also loved them for airport travels. They easily slip off and back on, and are warm on the chilly airplane. Three weeks after receiving the brown, I ordered them in black, too.

I absolutely LOVE these boots! I didn't want to spend that amount of money, but they are so worth it. I wear them every chance I get, and they can look casual or dressy. Which is great because I'm more of a casual dresser. I have bigger calves (15 1/2 inches) and was happy Frye's offered the extended version. They fit perfectly, I have enough room to even wear them over my jeans and they slide on and off with ease! Buy the boots! They are worth the price!

I love these boots! They are absolutely gorgeous and extremely well made. I had originally ordered Frye's Paige Tall Riding but they did not fit well at all. These are perfect. Frye's run large on me... I'm typically a 7 1/2 but I had to get these in a 7. My calves are larger but with the extended calf these fit perfectly with jeans and leggings.

After reading all the reviews I was unsure what to expect. This shoe was amazing on my foot. I have a wide foot and the boot fit perfectly. You do have to use the side loops of the boot to pull them on. I am 5'10" and the boots come up right below my knee so not as high as they should. This boot has a slight cowboy look but just perfect. I loved this boot!

I do not have big calves, but the regular Melissa Buttons were quite snug on me. I ordered the Extended and they leave plenty of room for me to tuck skinny jeans into. These boots are beautiful and are high quality leather. They feel a lot lighter than my other Frye boots (Campus). These boots fit pretty true to size, but felt like the heel slipped more than normal on me, so I wear mine with padded boot socks.

Originally, I ordered the "non-extended" version of this boot, and while I've never thought I had exceptionally large calves, they wouldn't fit over my skinny jeans, so I sent them back + ordered these. They couldn't be more perfect! So soft + such great quality leather, they're well worth the money! After owning 2 other pairs of Frye boots for many years, I know that they are built for the long haul! I'll be wearing these very soon in our upcoming engagement pictures!

I was afraid the boots would not fit my calves, which are 15". However, they are a perfect fit and I love them so much! The color Cognac is so beautiful, a rich brown with red tinges. I will wear them all through fall and winter! I heard that they stretch a bit after wear, which I am looking forward to so I can wear them with my jeans tucked in! Right now, they look awesome with dresses and skirts. Perfect, perfect boots!

I just got my Melissa Button Extended Boots and I love them. I have a hard time finding boots and haven't purchased any for many years because I have very muscled calves and most boots don't fit. My sister-in-law has two pairs of these and I was so excited to find them with an extended calf. I read the other reviews and ordered my regular size (8) and they fit perfectly with room to wiggle my toes which is how I like them. I was able to get them on pretty easily without resorting to plastic bags (one foot, which is slightly bigger, was a little more difficult than the other). The boots are wide enough (my calves are 14.25 inches), with some space to spare. The regular would have been too tight. These black boots are beautiful and I look forward to wearing them. I love the height and the style, slightly western without being cowboy boots. They are definitely worth the money and I'm so glad I made this purchase.

I love these boots. I've had them for a while now and they are very durable. The color of the cognac in the extended calf picture is a little off. In person the cognac is a lot closer to the color of the cognac in the regular Melissa Button boots. Which is what I was hoping for anyways! I highly recommend these boots definitely worth the money by not having to buy a new cheaper pair every year!

These boots are the most perfect boots! They are the first of what will likely be many pairs of Fryes. I am so in love. I don't want to wear anything else on my feet for the rest of my life. My calves have always been big (years of horseback riding I guess and since having my baby seven months ago, they haven't returned to their smaller already large size)! These boots fit perfectly! And they are beautiful. Did I mention they're beautiful? I'm obsessed. They have a slight click when I walk, which is pretty much a prerequisite for heeled shoes as far as I'm concerned. The color (cognac) is rich and natural looking. They look amazing with dresses, leggings, or jeans. I have well over 100 pairs of shoes and these are easily my favorite.

These boots are super cute and stylish. This is why I gave high marks. But I would like to share that the pair delivered to me didn't even come in a Frye box. This is the third pair of these boots I have purchased in the last week trying for a good fit. One from standard calf size from Dillards, one standard calf size from Zappos, and these also from Zappos. These last pair were in terrible condition. Nor were they in new condition. They looked as if they had been tried and worn (inside) many many times before. The ankles are creased and collapsing, the top of the foot is flat as if they tried to polish them but forgot to buff. Imagine if I had planned to give these as a gift. They came in a regular cardboard shipping box with some tissue lightly thrown in which provide no protection to these boots shifting around in the box. I have always had a positive experience with Zappos. I am blaming Amazon for this one!

I normally wear a 6.5-7 and tend to choose a medium-to-wide width. These fit me nearly perfectly. The foot/ankle are snug, but not tight. Like most good leather boots, I expect that these will stretch out over time so that these will fit perfectly given a "break-in" period. I don't know why Frye calls these "extended". If you have 16+" calves, these will NOT fit you. I have 15.5" calves and can wear these with leggings or tight calf jeans. You might be able to take them to a professional cobbler and squeeze another 1/2 - 1" of width, if you really want these. (My cobbler told me he can get up to an additional 1" of width from real leather boots without zippers). I purchased the "vintage" style, and I really like the look because they look like they've been 'worn' in a bit. I am going to scuff up the soles on these shoes as they are very slick and I've already slipped a bit just walking around the house with flooring.
