After trying the 9 1/2 wide & now this 10 W, I’m giving up as these gorgeous boots are not a true wide! They are more of a medium to narrow width! If you have a narrow slender foot the medium & wide widths will fit you perfectly! There are no difference in the wide or medium!! Very tight on my medium foot! So disappointed.

It is so hard to find boots with a wide shoe width and regular shaft width, not to mention in a style I like. The shaft hight can also be a problem for me as I am short and most boots are to long in the shaft. Eventually this causes them to bend (usually at the ankle) and causing the zipper or boot to wear out there. The shorter shaft hight on the inside of the boot will make them less prone to wear out as quickly. This fit great but the had to be swapped out because of an issue with the zipper pull arriving broken. It was easy and fast but a bummer. I also wish I had seen the review that mentioned the color "whiskey" not being accurate. The color is even less like that shown in the pictures than the photos the reviewer posted. I would almost call it a camel color. Although not bad, it is not the color that I want (really, need for my wardrobe). Unfortunately the other options will not work for my needs either so I plan to have the new pair dyed by my cobbler. I hate to spend more as I wear out even the highest quality boots in short order, but as I mentioned, the fit is great for my fat feet and skinny leg combo. If they wear well I will probably buy more and in other colors just because I have such a hard time finding a fit combo that works for my fat footed, skinny legged, and short shined body.

The fit was a little snug. I was between a 7.5 and 8 and went with the 7.5. It was a little tight the first few times I wore them but I believe it will stretch to fit my foot nicely. My husband had to help me with the zipper the first couple of times I put them on. About the 5th time I wore them, the zipper broke from the bottom. I was able to contact zappos and they are shipping me a new pair. They are really cute. I like the color. They are a bit noisier on tile/hard floor than I like, but I think that will change once I wear the boots more.

I wanted to like these... good price, good quality from known brand. But they were just 'eh' once I put them on.

Beautiful boots. Just what I was looking for except, Sam Edelman must not know what wide is...these were very narrow for a wide width!

Purchased boot in both 6.5 and 7 wide. Very narrow and not a true wide. The boot was more narrow than an average M width which I can typically wear but prefer extra room when possible. Having to return due to being so narrow.

I am shocked this is touted as a wide. It is medium, or narrow, in my opinion. It's almost like they delivered the wrong boot, but both the box and the boot tag say 8.5W. Odd.

These boots are great looking, but the toe box is too narrow for anyone with even a slight bunion. The extra width you get from ordering a W instead of a M appears to all be in the ankle and calf area and is definitely NOT in the toe box, which is where I need it.

I really wanted to love these boots, and they're very cute. Unfortunately, they were so tight I had to return them. I'm usually a 6.5, and both 6.5 and 7 were very narrow and hurt a lot on the top of my feet (I do not have wide feet).

Loved the color but disappointed in fit. Very narrow foot and my calf’s are normal size and these JUST fit and zipped up over jeans. Will definitely be returning n looking for something else.

Really like this boot but it’s to big plus the width around calf is to wide. So I will need to return them.

Contrary to other reviews, these boots weren’t to narrow for me. They were, however, baggy around the ankle while fitting in the calves. I think the leather is too soft, causing it to bunch where it isn’t tight to the skin. Bummer as these boots are pretty and well made.

Good quality leather and correct sizing/fit through the foot part of the boot. However, I have slim legs and calves. And the excess leather due to the shaft being wide really draped loosely around my ankles, wrinkling with every bend....so the boot didn't maintain it's shape when my foot flexed. I didn't order the wide calf, so I wasn't expecting excess room....but this boot didn't work for my more slender legs.

I bought an earlier version of these many years ago and was looking to replace them as they are well loved. If you are getting the brown color, here is what you need to know. The photos used in the listing are OLD, the original version I purchased years ago looks like that. However, the new version is a very different color of leather and doesn’t have the black on the toe and heel. Additionally, the button flap on the back has an odd animal print embossing not shown in the photos at all. Overall, the look is not as polished and not as attractive, and thus my original pair will continue to be used unless they update them again to look more like the original. The new version is getting returned.

Not at all the color pictured. more of a weird flat tan. Rated comfort based on other colors I have, but was so turned off by the color I did not even bother to try them on.

Really disappointed in these shoes, because the style is classic and beautiful! The leather feels very cheap/thin (almost feels fake), the soles are VERY light -- the heel is hollow. At this price point, I expected better quality: better leather and wooden heels at the very least. They run narrow in the foot even when sizing up (I'm a narrow-normal 7, and went up to an 8). I also have thicker calves and these fit over leggings easily, might have issues with thicker jeans. Unfortunately for me, the wide width in the SE brand boots often leaves a huge gap.

These were super cute boots. They fit width wise which can be super challenging for me, BUT they fit really awkward around the ankle. It was bunchy.

I ordered a half size smaller which was good for length. However, I have somewhat narrow feet and these were much too narrow for me. Also the calf was too wide. So I imagine most people who have wide calves and would appreciate that feature, may also not have super narrow feet. Very nice leather, wish they would have been a right fit.

I am replacing a pair of beloved Penny wide calf boots as I no longer need the wide calf. Yes I ordered knee high boots in June to ensure I had them when the weather was right! I don’t know where Zappos got these but they are NOT my boots. Strange peachy color, not the rich cognac I knew to expect and in a stiff plasticky “leather.” My original pair (purchased from Nordstrom) was buttery soft straight out of the box! The box informed me these had been repackaged. What fool *intentionally repackaged* these without any protective layer between each boot??? No material inside the boot to hold its shape either. Pictures show the boots *exactly* as they came to me. My rating is based on the pair I actually received. If you get a good pair, they are insanely comfortable and beautiful!

Not a Matched Pair. The left boot was gorgeous, comfortable, and clearly brand new. The right boot did not have the darker toe or heel, was uncomfortable and had been stretched and creased around the toe. It had obviously been worn before. I’m disappointed. If both boots had been in good shape, this would have been a 5 star review. I saw similar reviews when I was shopping but I figured they were isolated flukes and I would take my chances. Guess I lost the odds this time!

Leather is thin and feels cheap. Glue residue on the sole, stitching and on the leather upper near loops. One boot was not packed properly. I've gotten better boots at Payless for a fourth of the cost.

I was surprised how much I did not like this boot. It felt super cheap and not even like real leather (is it?). It fit terribly as well - it was very loose and not at all comfortable either Returned it.

I thought they fit very well, and were more comfortable than the narrow foot and toe shape would suggest.
