I lov the blue color of these, however, the calf part is tighter than expected. I measured my calfs before ordering and these should have fit, but it's a little struggle to zip up each time i wear them. they're ok but not as comfy as i hoped

These are my favorite boots. I have had them for 8 months now and they still look new. I stand and have to walk around a lot for work, these boots are very cute and comfortable. I have taken these on trips where a lot of walking was involved in the rain, these are so very comfortable- and 8 months later I still looking great.

I bought these in the whiskey and they have been a great boot. Very stylish and go great with jeans or tights. Easy to dress up and down. I bought them in red this time and they are great! I’m 5’10” and have an athletic build. These land about an inch below my knee and aren’t too snug around my calves.

I could not be happier with these boots, or the service provided by Zappos. The boots are gorgeous - soft supple leather, spot on color to what is shown. I am typically a 10M, but after reading the reviews, I went with a 10W and they're perfect. I have a 16" calf and the standard width calf also fits perfectly, snug with leggings tucked inside but I'm sure they will give some with wear. There are no apparent issues with the placement of the zipper at the back of the heel, as some have noted (though I have only worn them around the house so far). I placed this order Saturday night at around 8 pm. No sooner had I placed the order when I realized I made a mistake and called Zappos. The rep helped me change the error immediately and, GUYS!, the boots arrived TODAY! It's Monday! How did they do that?! Really really happy. Can't wait to wear them tomorrow! Thanks Zappos!

I've had these boots for 3 days now and I absolutely love them. I have narrow feet and slightly thicker calves than most and these boots fit perfectly. There is an elastic band in the shaft of the boot that adds some extra room. They are a bit stiff but they are good quality and I expect that they will break in soon since they are perfect for everyday wear.

I have and love Sam Edelman Petty boots so I initially ordered my same size for the Penny boots (8.5W). Sadly they are noticeably narrower, I had to double check the boots were really labeled W as they felt like a regular width boot. I returned and reordered a 9W and they are a bit more comfortable in the toe but now I have some heel slipping. Also, they fit very narrow thru the calf, I never thought I had wide calves but these were a challenge to zip bare-legged, I'm not sure I can wear them with skinnies. There is an elastic gore so I'll give it a try before deciding if I should return, I'm on the fence right now. Five stars for quality & style though!

Well, I loved this boot from the picture and description so much that I accidentally ordered it twice! So one pair must go back. However, I am very satisfied with the pair I am keeping. The leather is beautiful; soft and pliable, and a lovely color! (I ordered the "whiskey").I really like the rear zipper as it makes it much easier to get my high-instep foot into the boot. The heel is just the right height for my arthritic feet. My only complaint on size is that the wide is not as wide as I would have expected. It is still a little narrow for me but not enough to cause me to reject them. I will take them to a shoe repair place and have them stretched a little just to give me a tad more room so I can wear socks. The shaft of the boot is great. There is a small gusset with an elastic insert that allows the shaft to stretch so it can fit snugly around your calf. This is not uncomfortable at all and guarantees that the shaft will not be sliding or crumpeling down your leg. All in all, I would recommend this boot as it is a great value for the price.

I love ordering from Zappos - the website works great, and the ordering process is very time-efficient. As in the past, my most recent order arrived right on schedule (even though it was placed only a week before Christmas) and the boots I ordered as a Christmas gift were high-quality and exactly what my son's girlfriend wanted - she couldn't have been happier with them, and after two weeks of wearing them every day, she made herself take a break - for one day - and wear something else.

Had been looking for a quality pair of cognac colored riding boots to replace a pair I had been wearing for 5 years. I wear a size 10.5, which is isn't always easy to find, and have had great luck with another pair of Sam Edelman ankle boots, so I decided to give these a go. The color is so rich, I love the asymmetry of the boot at the top and they are really comfortable. You can wear this with just about everything and they look like they cost more than what I spent on them. I definitely recommend!

Finally a cute pair of tall black boots for gals who are 5'2! I tried on 20 pairs this weekend and they were all either way too tall, leather was too stiff, heel was too high or too flat. These are just great. Leather is so soft, love the gold hardware in the back, the heel is just enough lift, and the style is truly that of a riding boot. I usually wear a 6.5 and will say I almost bought the 6, which I never do, so I stuck with the 6.5 to accommodate socks I guess. I am very petite and these don't swallow me up at all! Love.

Very nice! I was ready to splurge on nice leather boots and these are very nice. They are a little stiff, but I’m confident they’ll loosen up nicely. The calf is pretty snug, if you think you may be on the edge, get wide calf. I’ve never needed wide calf boots ever, but I wish these were. I’m a size 11 shoe, size 12/14 and 5’11 for reference.

I really wanted to like this boot. Alas, here are my issues: 1) I bought a 10W and it felt like a 10.5 regular. The toe box narrow and the heel slipped. 2) the leather is soft but it slouches at the ankle which I didn't care for. On the plus side, it was a nice tall shaft and that was almost perfect -- not too wide. Back they go, good thing for a generous return policy I will keep trying.

These boots arrived looking TERRIBLE. They didn't have the correct packaging and were water damaged and had terrible black stains all over them. I am appalled that Zappos would send these out to someone. I love these boots and think this is the size I need, but the boots are damaged and disgusting.

I was very disappointed with these boots. I loved the style, however, they were very uncomfortable. I found the top of the boot (instep?) to be be very tight and narrow (I ordered M width and have narrow feet). While walking with these boots on, the buttons came open repeatedly and the shaft of the boot would slide down - I was constantly pulling these boots up. I will be returning these.

Love! So comfortable… from the moment I tried them on. I have a narrow foot and calf. Had to downsize 1/2 a size but was perfect!

Beautiful boots! I wear a 6-1/2 extra wide, and often a 7w works, so that is what I ordered. Sadly the boot fit like a normal width, so I am sending them back.

The leather is nice and the style is great. The boot does run 1/2 to a full size larger and is narrower for those with actual medium width feet.

Favorite boots of all time

I love the style and fit of these boots and they have held up with very frequent use throughout the winter. My feet are on the wider side and I bought these do to the reviews citing a nice fit (esp. vs. some other leather boots). I'm not disappointed. Would buy these again

Love these boots! Great color, very comfortable and great look. By far the best tall boots I have ever purchased.

This elegant riding boot is exactly as described. The leather is thin, light and beautifully smooth. Think: Italian leather. I'm not sure it will stand up to actual trail riding here in the Southwest but as an arena boot, or dress boot, I would highly recommend. There is a metatarsal support that hits a little too far back (on the ball of my foot) but I think a little walking will wear it down. Arch support is moderate. I have a very high instep, slim ankles and calves and a wide-ish toe box. The back zipper works well. If you have a very wide foot, the wide will not be enough because of the slightly pointed shape of the toe but the leather is so soft, I am counting on it stretching enough to be comfortable. The inky blue color is a perfect match for a dark wash denim pant - also ok for slightly faded black jeans.
