Customer Reviews New Balance Hook and Loop 577

I walk about four miles a day most days of the week so I've bought a pair every eight months or so for the past few years. I particularly appreciate the velcro fastening.

I had been checking the site regularly for the laces version. It appears they no longer carry them so I tried these. Very disappointed as the velcro strap did not have enough length. They were returned. I would like to know if they ever plan to carry the 577 with laces again. They (or whatever model number they had been before) had been a staple for years.

I bought these hook and loop shoes for my father-in-law, who lives in a Memory Care assistance living center. The idea of the hook and loop was a great thought, since he has little strength to tie any shoe with laces, however I didn't expect the sole of the shoe to grab onto his low-pile carpet...the shoe grabbed onto the carpet and resulted in a terrible fall. Ihave since put these shoes away for fear of causes him further falls and injuries. Good shoe just not right shoe for him.

This shoe is well-padded on the inside. The outer material is a bit stiff, so it doesn't offer much flexibility. I'm a woman, but have wide feet (size D), and this shoe gives me enough toe space. If you typically wear standard men, but find these narrow then I'd suggest going wide. Quality is top notch for the price.

My 90 year old husband has worn new balance shoes for over 10 years. we replaced a pair that is over one year old. on this pair, the velcro is too short to go across and is also very thin.

My husband is in a nursing home with walking issues. After trying about 20 pair of his shoes , the only pair that came close was an old pair of NB sneakers. He had problems tying the laces. I got online and instantly found this pair of sneakers that didn't have ties. He puts them on himself every day, and is learning to walk again. I will soon be looking for a NB upgrade.

When the shoes arrived I tried them on and was disappointed that the hoop & loop flap did not go all the way across my foot. I have other brands of shoes that have the same type of closure and they go all the way across my instep to the other side of my foot. I believe the flap on your shoe should be 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch longer to allow for men who have a higher than normal instep. For the reason stated I returned the shoes to New Balance. Your return process was exceptional.

I bought a pair of New Balance tennis shoes with velcro straps for my uncle, who is 101 years old and a veteran of Pearl Harbor. He only likes New Balance tennis shoes. Since his old pair had laces and he has trouble tying his shoes, the option of velcro straps was a no brainer. He appreciated and likes his new shoes. I recommend New Balance for the fit, construction, good looks.

My husband has been wearing these sneakers for years. This time I ordered his regular size and had to return them for a half size smaller.

Excellent product confortable love the made and color. I believe I hope they last (just have three weeks with them) and I think they will but again happy with them 100%. I recommend the shoes.

It took a long time for the 577 model to get back in stock! Also the tongue on the left shoe was sewn in crooked.

Have had the shoes for 2 years and noticed the soles separating from the shoes. Odd for New Balance since I have older NB that I still wear with no issues. These were good shoes initially but did not hold up.

I wear these every day. The wide toe box is just what I need.
