I work in wine production, and my light brown Chacos were nearing the end of their life when I saw these. Waterproof shoes that will not show wine stains!? I am sold! When I first got them the size 6 was a little tight on my wideish feet, but they stretched out nicely with just a few weeks of light wear and thin socks. I was probably the only one who did not get wet feet during the 2013 harvest season at my winery because of these shoes, so the water proofing is legit. After two years of dedicated work wear, the rubber is starting to separate from the leather upper, allowing water to seap in. Nothing some shoe-goe probably could not fix, but alas I have switched jobs and now require safety-toed shoes. When these started to get a little too grungy to wear outside of work, I got a pair of the Sugarpine shoes and they are even better (no tightness even on day one), and just as waterproof.

I tried these shoes because I wanted something for every day / light hiking other than sneakers. Based on previous experience with Ahnu, I tried both 10 (my usual size) and 10 1/2. The 10 1/2 fit best, as expected. Width is great, even after the addition of a thicker sock. My heel did not slip, which is a common problem for me. I have concerns about my ankle bones contact the top of the shoe in spite of the cutouts. Could be resolved with a more substantial insert (the one it comes with is just a liner, offers no additional support). I also have a concern about the amount of flex and give under the forefoot + my high arch. It feels like it might break down too fast and aggravate plantar fascia. Again, could be resolved with a more substantial insert with extra support there. I got them in Nightshade, which is a great purple color.

I bought these shoes to walk my dog in the winter and they are great. They keep my feet warm and they were comfortable right out of the box. I have a very high arch and the arch support is fantastic - no need for extra arch support. I took everyone's advice and ordered half a size up from what I normally wear and they fit perfect.

I'm delighted with this shoe, it's everything I wanted and purple too! After trying several waterproof walking/hiking boots I've found that this is the only one that flexes adequately and has good support with a toebox that isn't going to give me problems down the line, i.e. it's wide enough - and the heel is just right too, not wide. I bought it for working on my farm this winter but can't seem to give it up as a town shoe with jeans and a cashmere sweater. Think it's time to buy another pair and put them to work on the farm!

I love this shoe, very comfortable and the sole is extremely durable and offers excellent support for walking and hiking. They are waterproof, in fact I used them all winter in Ohio. Great shoe, definitely worth the price.

These are perfect for feet that need a roomy toe box (bunions) yet have a narrow heel. I have a very difficult time finding shoes that fit. I have flat feet, and the arch is not too high for me. I love these shoes. I will likely consider other shoes by Ahnu.

Love the low cutouts for ankles. These also have a roomy toe box which I love. I have narrow feet and these shoes were a bit too wide for me, but I stacked a second insole on top of the one that came with this shoe, and problem solved! The existing insole is comfortable, and arch support is good. I have high arches and arthritic feet so my standards are high. I gave these 4 out 5 for comfort because I reserve the 5 for the holy grail of comfort - really rare and hard to find! I tried the black and the green. The black seemed almost looser and looked pretty awful on my skinny feet and pale legs. Black upper seemed stiffer than the green. Still really like these shoes a lot. I wear a 8.8-9 in shoes, 9.5 in athletic shoes. These fit me best in a 9, although I might have gotten away with an 8.5.

I was looking for a pair of waterproof hikers to wear on a trip to Alaska next spring. I like that they are both brown and black, so they'll match just about anything I take. So far, these are perfect. They are lightweight and comfortable. They'll get more of a test on an upcoming trip to Maine.

What a cute shoe! I wish I had the feet to wear it. It's so soft and padded inside, and was the lightest of six similar shoes I ordered. The nightshade color is purple. It looked like midnight blue on my screen. It was quick to lace and easy to adjust the tension. Sadly, my bunions were going to be squished and there would have been some rubbing on top of my feet. I could not risk hoping it would stretch at this price.

So far these shoes are excellent. They feel great on my feet. I added orthotics that are needed for my problem feet. I have plantar fasciitis and heel spurs and my feet are receiving great support and padding. Sizing is right and I am very pleased. I like the way they look and feel.

I have a wide foot but narrow heel and this is the only low cut hiking shoe that fit and is also waterproof. Sidewalls very supportive, sturdy shoe. Next hiking boots will be this brand, too.

Super comfortable trekking shoe that has held up well after many miles of use. I require a large toe box, and these shoes accommodate that while still fitting at the heel. They keep my feet dry in rainy conditions. I have tried many other brands unsuccessfully. I like these so much I have ordered another pair for when these wear out.

Love, love, love, these boots. I purchased them in my usual size and they fit perfectly. For a tie hiking boot they are so stylish, lightweight and attractive looking. I would highly recommend this shoe if you are looking for a waterproof walking shoe.

These shoes save my feet! I have three different pairs and I know whenever I have a long day on my feet, wearing these will guarantee my comfort. I have somewhat wide feet and need a lot of support, and these are perfect!

Love, love, love this shoe! I had the Ahnu Montara previously and did not find it to be comfortable. It took a long time to break in and cut into my ankles. I don't know what they've done to revamp this new Montara (II) but it's wonderful! Seriously comfortable. Would highly recommend.

I generally do not wear sneakers but I promised myself to begin a walking program and I needed shoes that could be worn for fast walking both outside and on a treadmill. My feet are soft and I knew I needed pretty good support. I tried 5 pair and these were the best for my foot. I have been walking daily now for two weeks on a treadmill and the shoes are perfect.

Comfortable right out of the box. I ordered a 9 after reading some of the reviews saying they ran small. I usually wear 8.5, and I think they may have fit just right if I had exchanged them. I chose to keep them because they were comfortable enough in a 9. I love the Winetasting color. Not quite as red as in the picture, but still great looking. Zappos folks are super as always!

Excellent shoes! I have a long second toe, so it's not perfect for me. But the shoe is so awesome that I kept them.

Exactly what I was looking for Idaho winter dog walking but did not expect a waterproof shoe to be so comfortable immediately. I did order 1/2 size up in order to accommodate heavy socks & any needed cushion liners. Good versatile colors. Quality product which I recommend highly. And thanks to Zappos for their continuing outstanding service.

I purchased these boots to provide warmth and dry feet in inclement weather versus climbing or hiking. I am normally an 8½ but I bought both an 8½ and 9. I had to send back the 8½ because they would not accommodate my wearing heavy cushioned socks without my feet feeling cramped. I have narrower feet but need a decent size toe box for comfort due to a bone spur. My toes were feeling the ends and sides of the boots in my normal size. I love the cushioning in the tongue and around the ankle in these boots. Normally, if I have to go up half a size, the area around the ankle digs into my bone, but not these boots. The insole is not that cushioned, but the larger size can accommodate orthodics of varying types that I have at home. Long story short, these may run true to size if wearing thiner socks.

These are great shoes. They are very comfortable and sturdy. I bought them to wear to work in the winter so my feet will stay dry while mucking through the snow and slush. I have not worn them in the wet weather yet but they look great as a fall shoe with jeans and yoga pants. Also way better on our gravel roads than wearing tennis shoes. I love the purple color.

These are great shoes, halfway between a sneaker and a hiking boot, and very practical for kicking around in the rainy Northwest. I love the purple color, it's bright and happy. I wore these for 4 days straight, right out of the box, and they were really comfortable the entire time. Would highly recommend this shoe.

This shoe offeres me stability, comfort and durability. I am a manager at a naturals foods cooperative and we spend long hard hours unloading trucks, climbing step stools, shoveling snow out of the front entrance, etc. This is a shoe that is good looking enough to wear to work yet hardworking enough to get the job done. This is the second pair of this shoe that I have purchased. One in black another in brown.
