Nice looking and soft interior, sufficient toe room. Black looked like a perfect pair for light hiking and stone paved urban setting. But once I started to lace, I discovered, the top of the foot very tight, and very loose around the ankles. When trying to secure the lace around the ankle, the tongue was not very long and the lace cut into my skin. Sad for great looking shoes, not for me but for thin feet. Also, the box and the shoes looked used, with scraped box and loosened edge.

I love the look of this shoe, but sadly the comfort was not there for me. I have high arches and these shoes rubbed the top of my foot. The tongue seems short and it was not comfortable for me. The other issue with this shoe was the lacing...the metal grommets were slippery, making the shoe difficult to lace tightly. I really wanted this shoe to work for me because it is stylish and well made, but I had to return it.

I bought these for my winter walking both sidewalk and trail. My size is 10, and my foot is medium narrow. The toe box and roominess was great, even though they are wide, but the heel slippage, even with the thickest hiking locks, was a problem. I found that their lacing method did not pull the shoes tight enough, and that the laces loosened during the course of the walk.

I'm probably too hopeful purchasing these boots as I have a wide foot, but was told they are not any wider than my running shoes, so...but sure wish Zappos and all the other stores online and locally would carry more wide-width shoes and boots in 10.5 and 11 because with orthodics it becomes a real issue and very frustrating to say the least.

Oh man. Wanted these to work so bad! However, the heel bit into my achilles. I tried two pairs. Still didn't help. Also, felt sloppy...until I cinched the laces really tight, at which point my toes went numb. Such a cute waterproof hiker...just didn't work for me.

Love these shoes. Comfy and simple in their style (most hiking shoes are just overdone). Sadly, after a weekend of moderate hiking the toe rubber on one was already peeling off. Zappos is great and sending me another pair. Hopefully it was a fluke and this pair will be better. Fingers crossed.

This shoe is so comfy and supportive but the odor from the sole of the shoe is overwhelming, even after airing them out for weeks, hoping for it to dissipate. Exchanged for another pair, alas the replacement pair also have the strong odor (like burning tires) so it was not an anomaly . Bummer, I really like them!!!

I purchased these for the all-day walking during upcoming vacation as well as the arch support for which Keen is known. Knowing that I'll be on my feet all day, and there's a tendency for swelling, I purchased the shoes a half a size too large. Unfortunately, these shoes are extremely shallow, and by that I mean that the toe box presses down from the top despite numerous attempts to loosen the laces. When the laces are loosened too far, my heal pops out, so either way they're unusable for me. Unfortunately, I've walked outside in these now so I can not return them. I previously had a pair of GoLites. I wish they still made them. They were fantastic, and I used to wear them at least 4x / week until I finally wore down the treads.

I'm disappointed fit wise. I ordered 1/2 size larger than normal to ensure I had enough room as I know I'll be using them for a vacation where we'll be walking every day. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until I wore them for a half day that they're very shallow, i.e. the toe box presses down on the top of my foot, and they're also narrow. I had purchased Ahnu specifically because they're supposed to have a wider toe box.

As much of a fan as I am of the Ahnu brand shoe, these did not work out. The toe base in this show is much more narrow than the Montara Hiking boot. I own the hiking boot and thought that the lower shoe must be as comfortable, but I was wrong. I exchanged these for the Asolo Ember Ml which are a great shoe.

These shoes claim to be waterproof, and were great for the first winter that I wore them. Early in my second winter with them, I always ended up with wet socks and freezing cold feet even in fairly dry conditions-such as a little snow slush in a parking lot, for example. I have since bought a much cheaper pair from another brand and now come home from long walks with warm, dry feet. Don't waste your money on these.

I ordered a size seven, my regular shoe size and could barely get my foot into the shoe. I liked the style, but they had to go back. I didn't like them enough to order a larger size. I decided to go with a completely different shoe. If I had tried them on in a store, I probably would not have ever bought them.

This shoe fit smaller than the same boot style of this shoe. For me, the laces for the shoe needed to go up higher. There was not enough support for my foot to feel secure in the shoe once completely laced up. I liked the way the boot style fit much better.

I bought these shoes to take on a trip to Europe. I thought they would be a good match since there was a lot of walking. How I was wrong. I have tried to break them in for the past ten months, to no avail. It is sad that for the amount of money spent on these shoes, they are not very comfortable.

I bought these shoes less than a year ago at REI. They initially felt great and are attractive, and very true to size. I was told that Ahnu was a really good brand. The salespeople raved about them. However, within the first 2 months of only moderate wear, the rubber over the toe began coming off, not just a little, A LOT. I was in England or would have returned them back to REI. By the time I got back from my trip I figured it was too late to return them, and so have held on to them, and glued the toe because other than that the shoe was fine. Well, after only minor use over the winter, they now feel like the insole is completely squashed down. No more arch support and there is no padding left to them, I can feel every little rock under my feet when I hike. The vibram outsoles have held up very well, still look new, but the rest of the shoe I am not impressed with at all. I guess I need to buy a new insole since I feel like I'm walking on wood. But on shoes less than a year old, only worn 3 seasons, intermittently, this should not be an issue. It's not like I wear them every day, just for hiking and trail walking. I've probably gone on only 10 real hikes with these, and wore them for walks. I was told the quality to be good and that they would last at least 2 years, these haven't even lasted 1. They still look fine (other than the peeling toe), but feel very worn in after not much use. Very disappointed. However, I will say they are definitely waterproof, definitely breathable, and do fine in the snow (a bit slippery on ice but what shoe isn't?). During winter the upper would look wet from the snow but my feet would be completely dry inside. Never too hot. The vibram soles are grippy on rocks and sand and varied terrain. There are pluses, but if you are looking for a serious hiking shoe, this isn't it. It just hasn't held up. I am going to go for some Patagonias or Merrills instead (can't believe I already have to buy hiking shoes again!). But if all you want is a cute looking outdoorsy shoe that you can wear around town, I suppose you'd be happy with this. That's what mine have been relegated to after less than a year. Waste of money. Such high hopes. So disappointed.
I'd also recommend:
Patagonia, Merrill, I have keen snowboots that have held up well and performed well on the ice.
