I first bought these pants in 2010 when we lived in the PNW and I wore them for hiking, rock climbing, spring back country skiing and just around my house. They fall very flattering not hugging in the wrong places. The fabric is so breathable and comfortable. I liked them so much I wore them through my entire pregnancy for hikes. This year I just bought a new pair because I ripped my others, I wore them so much. Great all around pant.

I love these pants for lounging or going out. Great for travel! I own four of these and recommend them to my friends.

I can wear these pants hiking, walking, golf, around town. Flattering fit and very durable!!

If I could wear these pants everyday I would! Not only are they comfortable, they're stylish and hold up well throughout the day. Size and fit is just right.

Love these pants! I had two pair -- black and gravel -- and I just bought my third, the grill color. I LOVE LOVE LOVE these pants. I love the PERFECT (short) length. PLEASE NEVER STOP MAKING THESE in case mine wear out. I am considering stashing my third pair to save JUST IN CASE. I love the fit, the comfort and the look. Only suggestion. Possibly one more pocket but otherwise PERFECTION.

These are so comfortable! The material is quick-dry and has a little bit of stretch. I use them to wear to work, travel and hike. For such light weight material there very tough.

Just bought my second pair and am going to buy a third! These are so comfortable and much better looking than sweats. I wear them hiking and on errands around town. I would order a size smaller than you usually wear.

These pants are very versatile - you could hike in them or wear them to work. I love the drawstring in the waist allowing you to avoid the dreaded gap!! On another note - I had to talk with customer service reps a couple times on different things - they have all been EXCELLENT. Friendly, knowlegeable and took care of everything at that time. Great job Columbia.

Lightweight, relaxed but close fit, stylish

Very excited to find these pants! As someone with a small waist and larger hips, I love the hidden inner drawstring which allowed a perfect custom fit. I am 5'8" and the length is perfect. The higher waist also lets me bend over with no worries. Am buying a second pair! Also enjoyed the lighter weight of the fabric - doesn't grab.

My pants hiked Old Rag last Friday and they were spectacular (unlike my calves which are killing me)! Old Rag is an awesome rock scramble in Shenandoah National Park. There's lots of pretzel-like contortions involved and my pants went everywhere my legs went! Plus, they were amazingly light and cool on a hot summer day. They are so comfortable that I feel like I am hiking in my jammies. I LOVE these pants. I want some more!

Love these very comfortable pants and plan to travel with them. I'm short waisted and a little surprised that they fit lower on my stomach, but other than that perfect. As other reviewers have written I don't understand the inside string. Haven't washed them yet so hope they retain their shape and size.

Love these pants. They are so comfortable and great for travel as they never wrinkle. They are sporty but can dress them up with a nice top and/or sweater. I usually wear a 14 in pants but because they are so stretchy (without showing any bulges) I go down a size in these pants.

Ordered a 14. It was huge. Returned them to Retail outlet where I measured them against other 14s. They were an inch larger ie 16s. Store was most accommodating but put them back on rack mis marked as 14s. This shouldn't happen. Love the pants where they are correctly marked size.

Most comfortable hiking pants I've ever purchased! I also have trouble finding pants long enough, and these were great! Might buy another pair!

I do most of my shopping at Goodwill, and it takes a lot for me to shell out $60 for a pair of pants, but I did it for these, and now all my other pants pretty much sit in my closet having a black pair of these (3 months old). A perfect and flattering fit for me (who has a bit of menopausal tummy fat and a size 14 physique.) The material cant be beat-incredibly comfy and stretchy and light without being sloppy looking. In fact I wear some pretty dressy shirts with these and get away with it. I was not crazy about the string tie on the inside of the waist, so I cut it shorter and put a cord lock on each side of the zipper. Now they are always a good waist fit (I think Columbia should make them like this for easy adjustment), and wish they had a few lighter colors- stone, beige, light grey, sage. Cmon Columbia..I'd buy them all! And that's saying something from an avowed thrift shop junkie.

These are great fitting pants for my shape. I can do without the waist cording. I shorten them and attached a cord lock to easily adjust fit. Both slimming and very very easy pant to be in!

I bought these pants for traveling to Ireland so I can pack light do lots of touring. These are so comfy, wash and wear. I highly recommend these. I have them in both colors. My only critique is could you make these in more colors, maybe kahki and dark blue or green? I want more!

I love these pants! They aren't too tight, they move with you, they're comfortable material. I wear them everywhere! I'm plus size 18W, but the 16 fits just fine. Get the 18 if you like them loose. My iphone 4 fits well in the zip leg pocket, and I think the 5 would also fit. I'm retired and we travel a lot, and these are GREAT travel pants.

These pants are so comfortable that I wear them almost every day! Flattering and a great look for running errands, going to a movie, or for walking with friends, in addition to outdoor activities. Lightweight, but also somewhat wind resistent, they are neither too warm nor too cool - just right for a walk in chilly temps. Also comfortable in warmer weather, too. The gentle stretch in the fabric has just enough"give" to ensure that they don't bind when moving or sitting. I especially like the tie at the waist. I am petite (5') and have a hard time finding pants that fit. I had to shorten these, but that's nothing new for me. I highly recommend these pants!

I was looking for pants versatile enough for travel - with an agenda of lots of walking, some biking, mixed with hiking and friends. They fit very nice, the length is excellent. I bought petite and they actually fit perfect from the hip to the hem! They never make it back to the drawer - they go right back on out of the dryer! Nice job, great value Columbia!

I found my first pair of these pants at REI in Santa Fe. The clerk commented on how good they make your fanny look! Regardless of look - it's how good they feel, how easy they are to take care of and the fact that I don't wear sweat pants anymore that has made them an invaluable part of my daily wardrobe. Don't ever stop making these pants and thanks for offering them in short length. Job description: retired (yeah!) 65, active, nature loving outdoorsy and bookish person who loves to cook and keep a camera within reach.

These fit any woman's body. They even come in lengths--finally. Not all of us are "regular." Sleek flattering design. no gaps at waist (drawstring). Dress up or down. Wash and wear. Comfortable--stretch in every way. It doesn't get any better than this. You can see it in all the five star reviews. They're like wearing PJs. Columbia--We need more colors in this one!!!

Definitely order a size down. I usually wear a 12, tried these on at a store in a 10 and they fit loose (not baggy) and comfy. Now I'm shopping for more! Great pant for every day errand running, casual work environment, and activities. I wear them at the rock gym, hiking, camping, biking, walking the dogs, to the coffee shop. Added benefit - dog hair doesn't stick to them like it does with my yoga pants! The boot cut version may be a little more stylish if you're looking for a better line, but I find the straight leg is more versatile for activities.
