I always buy New Balance but most of them are made overseas. These are made in the U.S.A. Not sure why they cost so much more than the others but they fit true to size and fit much better than the cheaper New Balance. Proud to be wearing American Made Products!!!

My husband really likes these shoes. This is his second pair. They are not too flashy, yet stylish at the same time.

You bought them from Zappos because new balance does not sell them in their stores. I like them because they are black on black, their other ones have crazy colors which I do not like and they get very dirty. Thanks Zappos!

I've been wearing these shoes for years. I'm not a runner, but had foot surgery and the podiatrist recommended them. I wear them with suits and shorts. Everyday.

These are great sneakers! Fit great and comfortable for everyday use.

To anyone with the "CAT URINE" odor problem. It's not a new problem. Get the 800# for Customer Service at New Balance. Had the same problem, and they shipped a new pair. I did have to return the old pair which they sent a return material authorization, so that was OK too. They acted over the phone like this was news to them. Doesn't matter as they sent the new pair. The trick is to not let them get "WET." If that happens, dry them asap.

Great running shoe. Made in USA! This is the second pair of these I have owned and would not consider any other type. First pair lasted quite a while. Worth the extra cost for this kind of shoe. Primarily used for treadmill, fast walking and working out.

Best sneaker ever. The previous model 993's did smell like cat urine after a couple of years. New Balance claims that issue has been fixed. So hopefully these new one's won't have that problem.

Excellent shoes! I bought these for my hard-to-fit husband in size 14. He was skeptical...but loves them. They are structurally sound, attractive, comfortable and sturdy.

I bought these shoes for my father after he had foot and ankle surgery. Not only does he love them- they give him the all day support he needs and he is not in pain when his day is over!

I ordered the shoes and received them 3 days later. Amazing! I took them out of the box, tried them on and played 18 holes of golf. They are very comfortable and I will be ordering the same style.

Great shoes and my 5th pair over the years. While I did say these shoes are true to size in length, I bought a half size larger because they do run a bit short.

Best Made in USA shoe! And actually, best I have had made anywhere, just a big plus to be made here. Very comfortable. Great cushion, but not too much. I wear them every day!

I always have the worst time finding shoes for my dad that were wide enough. He loves these and wears them a lot!

Purchased these for my husband. He has had many pair of these shoes in grey. Thought the black would be a nice change.

I have a narrow foot (12 N) with orthotics; this shoe fits so well, I tend to wear them out every year or so. Am on my 7th pair going back 12 years. These used to be M991. Still have additional 3 pair for dirty or wet work. My formal shoe is a Rockport also from Zappos- same comment for those.

Purchasing shoes on line has been helpful to me as my shoe store doesn't carry my size all the time. They can expedite an order so quickly an have the item to my door. This is the way to shop in the electronic day an age thank you.

First of all I really appreciate Zappos, second the fact that New Balance M990 are made in the USA is extremely important to me and should to all Americans. I really like my new shoes, I purchased two pair (different colors) so I can rotate them every couple of days. The only suggestion I have would to make the tongue a little longer. Great shoes!

Quite frankly, these are THE MOST COMFORTABLE shoes I've ever owned. I use them for daily walkers, occasional jogs. They fit true/snug and it also feels goo to buy "Made in USA". ;)

Perfect fit and good for work with dark pants. Especially great on lower back issues I have. I bought another pair.

This shoe comes in extended sizes and extra wide widths, which is our need. As my son has grown, we continue to buy him this same shoe over and over in advancing sizes. It is well made and actually can be machine washed also. The price is a bit steep, but it is a quality item.

I've never paid more for running shoes, but I needed an all black shoe I could use for stage work as well as trail and road running. I'm really happy with these shoes. Very stable on the trail with a sturdy platform. Comfortable. A little pricey, but they've been worth it.

Considering it's the only running shoe that fits my foot, there's no real review to give. It's the only shoe I've been purchasing for the past ten to twelve years or so (through Zappos and others). The black dye on this thing makes it more expensive than the blue and grey versions, for some reason.
