It is very hard for me to find shoes narrow enough to fit my feet. New Balance is one of a handful of manufacturers that make narrow sizes. I had ordered an earlier version of the 990 in a B width and felt that it was still a bit wide. The 2A actually fits more like a B in other models. A very comfortable and seemingly well made shoe.

I am on at least my fourth pair of this or the equivalent models. I am not a runner. They are very comfortable, stylish and durable. I will wear them until I can't tie the laces.

Most comfortable shoes ever!! I bought these shoes for my husband, who has very flat and wide feet that give him back pain and knee pain from time to time. His conditions have improved substantially ever since we discovered the high numbered New Balance shoes. This latest pair is the most comfortable out of the six or seven pairs of New Balance he has had. He always loves New Balance, but this one is the best so far.

These shoes were a gift for my son who lives across the country. Zappos is a great way to send a gift! The first pair had a manufacturing defect, so he returned them and Zappos sent the new ones which were great. He likes them especially because he stands at work all the time and these are comfortable.

I run 35 miles per week in these shoes and have found them to be as consistent as the 990 series always is. I am 6'6", 200 pounds, and wear a size 14 Medium. Whenever the model changes, I start to get scared off by the negative reviews where people complain about how the shoe is different than other versions. I found no difference in performance or durability in this version as compared to previous ones. Many reviews reference a cat urine smell, but my pair did not have that problem. I am now buying my second pair of 990v3 after running over 750 miles in my current pair. Highest recommendation, particularly if you've worn the 990s in the past.

For me they are the best of all sneakers on the market. I am 57 and just walking, but I think you could use them for almost anything. It took 20 buys and returns before I remembered how great they were. Some reviewer said they smelled like cat piss which is total bull. They are made in the USA and I bought six pairs to emphasize just how much I love them.

Great for walking. Good padding in all the right places, good support. I'm wearing third pair. A bit pricey but worth it.

I've been wearing this brand of shoe for many years. Very comfortable. I use it as a cross training shoe.

This is the only shoe that my husband has worn daily for many years. They are comfortable, sturdy and well made so they are worth the expense. He has a somewhat flat foot and they work well for him.

Very stable and comfortable...no odd odors. I now own 3 pairs of this style and am very satisfied. I appreciate that they are available in the 4E width.

This is my fourth pair in the 900 series Made in USA. The shoe is very comfortable and seems to have slightly improved arch support. Slight improvements in cosmetics also.

Love these! I have lots of problems with my feet. I can walk with these. Nicely made. Already bought another pair in a different color!

I love these shoes! I wear them as dress shoes -- to church, to school, to anything important. I'm tired of having sore feet!

Best fit and comfort I have experienced. I had an earlier pair but the sole insert had an odor, not these. The odor problem has been eliminated by removing the sole insert.

This is my second pair of New Balance M990's. The first pair fit great and felt comfortable from the first day to the last day. I had them for two years and wore them everyday to work. I am a nurse and am on my feet for twelve hour days. The new pair of New Balance M990's are every bit as comfortable as the first.

Every day I wore these M990s I found them more comfortable than the last. They feel great walking and running. They also look great with anything ranging from jeans to shorts unlike a lot of running sneakers now that seem to be about how bright random colors thrown together can stick out like a clown.

I love these shoes and I've been wearing them for years (as 999s, 991s, 993s, etc). I wish they weren't this price because that's awfully expensive for a shoe that gets used up while running and walking. So they're overpriced but very comfortable and I am a loyal buyer.

The M990 is extremely comfortable. Glad I picked them. Ordering was a breeze. They arrived quickly. I'll be purchasing from Zappos again.
