Excellent shoe. True to size and great support. Love working with Zappos. Very efficient with their orders and returns. Never have any problems.

Had these for a while and they are durable and still look good- despite not taking great care of them- but you will need great insoles for them if you spend a lot of time on your feet.

The tongue on these shoes bothered me, but otherwise a good shoe!

Wanted a pair of the US made New Balance. They do feel and fit how NB used to feel and fit - very comfortable. Good support and reasonably stylish. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but not crazy.

I'm an older dad with a 6 year old daughter and I need to keep up with her. That's why I really like this New Balance shoe. It's got good support with the leather sides and the shoe itself lasts close to a year. Since I know the exact size and model number I went through Zappos and didn't have to take hours out of my day to drive & purchase. Their price was a bit more discounted than anyone else + their Reps are so helpful, personable and knowledgeable. It's a "no-brainer" use Zappos for a purchase like this. Tip: Use Aetrex insoles with these shoes and they'll truly give you "new balance!"

I ordered these shoe online after they were recommeded. I have been very happy with them. There has been no fish smell or some of the other issues that people mentioned. I wear them daily. They have held up and are very comfortable for walking.

These are great sneakers. But having a cat piss odor is very bad. I hope that the rest of their brand models do not suffer of the same problem.

After A couple of months the soles started to peel off, well before the shoe had worn out.Found this true for 993 models of recent years. No problem with older shoes.

Basically what has happened with this brand, is that the old reliable, comfortable New Balance shoes (which were great) now exist at the higher price point, but the cheaper variations (in the lower dollar range) are cheap and fall apart and are not well made. If you are a longtime buyer of this brand and want the New Balance shoes that you are used to, the quality shoes that they are known for, then you pretty much have to get the higher priced ones and up. I wouldn't even bother with the lesser cost styles, unless you don't wear them often. That said, these shoes are very comfortable, offer good support, and have a classic style to them. Exactly what I would have expected from this brand (I've been wearing them for years) but they are double the price that they used to be, back in the day.

Great shoe, poor arch support. I always replace factory insert with cross trainer insert for arch support!

Great shoe. I have been wearing them for years. The problem with the cat pee smell is if you get the shoe bottom wet the glue causes it to smell like cat urine. So don't wash them! Zappos should share the stink factor with New Balance. They are made in the USA!

Ordered these shoes in 2013. By 2015 the little rubber pads on the lateral edge of the treads had worn down and come unglued, so if there's any supination in your gait this problem will be worse for you than me (I simply have flat feet). As the rest of the shoe tread is made up of much larger, contiguous pieces, these wore normally and did not disintegrate. Other than that they're comfortable. Very generous room in the uppers, lots of room to loosen the laces. Was comfortable walking for a long time in these shoes. Did not experience the odor problems discussed in other reviews. Maybe it's a problem that didn't surface until after 2013.
