These are simply excellent shoes. I bought another brand first in order to save money and regret the decision. I ended up buying the New Balance shoes, anyway. I would have been better off to buy them first. They fit better and feel better. And if you need extra room, NB is the only way to go.

Simply, a great overall pair of running shoes. They're super comfortable and wear very well over time. They're not light, flashy, or minimal; but, they'll never let you down. Also, they're made in the USA!

Love this shoe. I have wide feet and have purchased many different tennis shoes trying to find a comfortable fit. FINALLY, I have a shoe that I want to wear for exercise and for everyday. Well worth the price.

I wore these all day right out of the box and they were super comfortable. Lightweight, stable, and with good arch support. I highly recommend these shoes.

This is a Heritage Shoe with a limited release each year.I've owned several pair. I couldn't find this color in retail so here I am. Flawless customer service execution. Price was reasonable.

Great shoe. Excellent comfort and feel. I often wear a size 14 but with New Balance 13 is a perfect fit so I'd say that they run a bit big.

My stepson loved these so much I ordered a second pair! He is 17 and very picky so these were the bomb.

I could write a few words review and be satisfied with it, but I think the whole experience would be lost if I shortened it. Lets start by saying I had never owned a pair of New Balance shoes. I'm very picky about my shoes too. I returned 4 pairs before keeping these. Those 4 pairs were from Zappos and took a total of 2 weeks to return/receive all 4 pairs, one pair at a time. I can't say enough about Zappos customer service. During this time, I also tried one of the major shoe retail stores and their site. I'm one of the hardest people to fit for shoes. I'm 6' 270 pounds, former college football player and MMA for 5 years. I have trouble with shirts, shoes, pants, but especially with shoes. I've been wearing Nike Zoom Vomeros for the last 4 years. I have a rare foot according to the local sports store. I have a wide foot with neutral gait and high arches. I'm not a runner, but I do regular cross-training. These shoes didn't work for me: Brooks Beast 11 EE, Brooks Beast 11 EEEE. Probably because I thought they were neutral shoes. So I returned them and tried Mizuno Wave Creation size 11. Didn't fit. Tried Mizuno Wave Rider size 11.5. Didn't fit. I then decided to try a brick and mortar store, think the abbreviated name we call champions. They didn't have the ones I wanted, but did on their website. I ordered the Nike Shox size 12, regular width. Didn't fit. It then took 2 weeks for the shoes to get back to them and another week for the credit to show up on my card. Back to Zappos and no looking back! That's when I noticed these New Balance 990s. As I mentioned, I'm picky and was wanting a shoe with some blue in it. I hadn't even noticed the navy blue. I ordered them, size 11 EEEE, they came a few days ago and not only do they fit, but I think they're the best looking pair I've ordered. These have a nice, classic look, but don't look like the trendy vintage lines. I put them through a few tests, a 45 minute cross-training workout of jogging with a rugby team through high grass, down hills, up hills and my feet wanted more! I then wore them the next morning for weight training and again that afternoon for walking with my girlfriend for about 4 miles. I've had no pain whatsoever. Sounds like not too much of a big deal? I've had a combination of right/left 6 broken ankles, 3 broken legs. I'm not saying these shoes will cure any and everything, but they really have helped me. Last note, I'll admit, I'm in my later 30s and maybe had pegged New Balance as shoes for older people since all of my uncles wear them. I'm now thinking I'll still be wearing New Balance when I'm in my senior years. I couldn't be happier with a pair of shoes! And thanks Zappos for putting up with all my returns!

I'm a beginning runner and thought I would pick up an upgrade over an old pair of shoes and I have been satisfied with the purchase. One thing to note is the first pair I ordered was a 2E width, which felt a little too snug on the small toes. A 4E is very comfortable however and I wish more shoes had such wide widths! And lastly, these say they are American made, which I find to be great! (a bonus I found was no funky smells out of the box.)

This shoe is perfect. Get the width above what you think as I did and I float when walking now. Worth every penny.

I have worn these for many years. These were my approximately 9th pair of this line of shoe. They have been consistent in all respects and any (minor) modifications have been for the better.

Very comfortable shoe, had no problems so far, walk 2-3 hours every day. Nice to buy "Made in USA" product. Ordering was a snap with Zappos, the tracking and speed of delivery by UPS was great.

I LOVE these shoes. I have wide small feet and so I got these in size 7.5 double E. PERFECT! And I don't usually write reviews.

My husband has wide feet and I bought him the extra wide. They are very comfortable and he can wear them for long walks in comfort.

Very happy with them. There was an earlier comment about the tongue not staying in place, but I found that running the laces through the retaining loop just a bit higher than I usually would kept them perfectly and comfortably in place.

I am very pleased with these shoes. They cost twice as much as I'm used to paying, but they are certainly meeting or exceeding my expectations. (Note: I bought these for my husband. The comments above are his.)

Finally a NB product in a 2E that feels like a 2E. I try to purchase other NB styles in 2E and they're always too narrow. Nice to know a 2E is still a 2E with the M990. Fits right out of the box. I'm not a believer in breaking in a shoe.

I've run in New Balance shoes for decades and have always found them durable and well designed. This shoe is no exception. Although a little pricey, it is well constructed, comfortable, and highly efficient in absorbing shock. Highly recommended.

I have purchase New Balance shoes in the past because they have wide sizes. I bought these as I liked the looks of them, and I thought they would go well with my jeans. I knowingly paid more for this particular shoe because it is made in the USA! I am tired of so many products coming from China. I wanted to support US workers, and paying a few bucks more is an easy way to do it.

Great shoe. Felt good out of the box. Two complaints: the first is the red, white and blue tongue to promote made in USA looks terrible against an otherwise beautiful, gray shoe. The second is the white laces were the cheapest laces I have ever seen on a NB shoe; looked like something one would find in a $6 canvas shoe in the bargain bin, not on a shoe at this price. Laces can be replaced and I would have done so but I returned the shoes because the red, white and blue really ruined the appearance. I would re-order if NB changes this on the next version.

I put it on the next day and went to the gym and did 45min elliptical and the feet did not feel tired. Excellent support and stability. Glad I returned the Reebox wiz which were on sale for $85 and these were a lot but worth it since it is made in USA.

I am completely satisfied with my New Balance shoes. Since I have a very narrow foot, I have to order all of my shoes on the internet. I also can find few other shoes of this type in narrow sizes. I believe this is my 6th pair of New Balance shoes and I am sure it will not. be my last.

These NB 990's are the best athletic shoe I have found since the NB 993's I wore out after wearing them almost daily for 15 months! The 990's are even more comfortable to me and I have several foot issues. Roomy toebox for wide feet and plenty of room for Rx orthotic! I must say that Zappos is also the best online store I have ever done business with...they are awesome in every way!
