Loved these shoes, but the Sand color was way too light and close to a nude color. It made the shoes feel like old lady shoes. They were wonderful otherwise. Wish these came in more of a camel color.

I bought these last year as a shoe for conferences because it was dressy enough and looked comfortable enough, and I could wear it with socks if it's cold or bare feet if it's warm. It is a beautiful shoe on anyone, however after walking two miles in them this week (the trial run before the next conference which can add 5 miles easy) I realized that both my feet hurt - one of my toes was very painfully hitting the top of shoe, and the bunion developing on my other foot became excruciating. As much as I love the shoe I will wear it to work or for short distances under a mile from here on. Shopping for an adjustable sandal for the conference.

I have been looking for a replacement option for my favorite Dansko Thea shoe, and these get pretty close. They have less height than the Thea but they still give me a couple of inches. I preferred the Sand color in the Thea as it was a bit lighter and worked better with my pale skin. These are a bit more khaki toned, but will still work as a neutral/nude. I dinged them a star on style and overall because they have that fake wood look on the sides of the base. However, these are shoes I will continually grab for spring and summer, because they are super comfortable and I can wear these at work due to the closed toe.

These are very cute shoes, however the color Sand Dollar is NOT what's shown on the picture. The color is much darker and kind of.....blah.

Haven’t worn them out side yet. I am always a 37 in dansko. Tried them on with socks and they fit. Color is really khaki, sort of a greenish tint, like grandma shoes. The heel is just right for jeans or skirts. I am a grandma so I guess i’ll Keep them. Good to have when you don’t want your shoes to stand out.

I love this shoe, and have wanted a color other than black, brown, or red, so the taupe color is perfect. However, the 38 (my normal, perfect Dansko size) is too small. I am trying a 39 in the same thing, which seems perhaps too big, though. The strap over the instep seems to be in a poor place for my foot, which may be part of the problem -- it's a bit too high/close to my ankle, I think.

I wanted to love these but they were way too wide for my feet. I normally take a medium with no problem and do not have a high arch. The length was good, but I ordered 1/2 a size larger than usual. The footbed felt great and the leather was nice. But they were so wide that my feet slid around in them--I think they would have been great if a narrow width were available. Wider feet may love these!

I liked this shoe but ended up returning it for two reasons. The leather was not soft and pushed on my "bunion bone". The other reason is that it did not look as good as I had hoped with the way I intended to wear it. However, it was nicely padded and would have been good for walking. I suspect the leather would soften up over time. Also on the plus side is that it was the right size -- sometimes with Dansko the sizing is hit and miss. The leather was a beautiful rich dark brown -- very attractive.

I broke my big toe on my left foot and the podiatrist recommended Dansko clogs as one of the first shoes to wear after I got out of my special shoe. Unfortunately, I have a narrow heel and I was worried that I would have to grip my toes while walking and many reviewers mentioned that their heels slipped out while wearing the clogs so I opted for Sam since the reviews were good. It does have a rigid sole and wide toe box and my heel did not slip. Yay! All my boxes were checked! The one drawback was it was a little tight on the sides of my feet (right where the leather in the front touches the outside edges of your feet) and was very painful breaking it in. If you have wide feet, these may not be for you. One way that I helped loosen the leather was wearing them at home with a thick pair of winter socks. I did that about 3 evenings. I’ve worn them now to teach in for about three weeks alternating them with a pair of new balance shoes (also recommended to me) and it no longer hurts or rubs! My toe is happy, my arches are happy and I can walk all day very happily. They are good quality shoes and worth the steep price. I like the look (better than traditional clogs) and I also like that they give some height too. Now that I’ve broken them in, I think they are comfortable but you need to get past the breaking in period (for me, it was a couple of weeks).

Recently my dormant plantar faciitis has kicked in and I knew Dansko would give me the support and fit I needed. These are much less clunky looking than their traditional clogs and I thought they would be great for work. I normally wear an 8.5 or 9, so i ordered the 39 - too short and my toes were hitting the end of the shoe. Unfortunate because they were very nice looking, especially the very rich teak brown. Ordered the 40 in black, and while I could have made them work in the length, they curved right into the corner of my big toe on both feet. And they put some pressure on the out edge of my foot about midway down. So, these have gone back as well. This style is just not for my long, narrow, thin (in thickness) foot. Will look for another style in trusty Dansko. Thanks Zappos for making returns and re-ordering so easy.

I loved this shoe - just too tight in the foot bed

I was happy to see that these came in size 35, since the Dansko Vera in size 35 fit perfectly and are amongst the most comfortable shoes/sandals I've ever worn. Many Dansko styles have size 36 as the smallest size and the ones I've tried in 36 have been too big for me, although I wear a standard size 36/6 in most other brands. However, these (Sam) weren't as immediately comfortable out of the box as I had hoped would be the case, so I returned them. I wish the toe box leather were somewhat softer.

Really, truly comfortable and true to size! However, I am sending them back only because they weren't what I was looking for once I was able to put them with outfits I had hoped would work out.

I needed to buy a full size up. Am happy otherwise!

Great shoe. Ran small for me. I had to order a size larger than my other Danskos.

I loved these but am exchanging them for a new pair because the shoes stink. Yes, they stink. It's the strangest thing: the leather smells strange. Sour? The first time I wore them I couldn't figure out where the smell was coming from - the second time I figured it out. I've never experienced anything like this. It's not the foot bed that's the issue but the leather uppers. I wonder if the leather has been treated with some sort of weird chemical. I love the shoe so much I'm willing to give it another try and hoping this was just a fluke.

I wear a size 8.5 and ordered size 39. I could feel my toes bumping against the end of the shoe, so I ordered a size 40 to compare-- the 40 was way too big. I decided to stick with the 39s in the hopes the leather stretches out with wear. I was on the fence about the Sand Dollar color, it's a little orthopedic, but the ability to wear it with anything and everything won out since they are so neutral. If Zappos still sold these in Blue, that's what I would have chosen. These shoes are super comfortable, they look cute with jeans and dresses now, and will be great with socks in the fall.

When I received these, I immediately took them out of the box to try them on. I pulled out the left shoe first, buckled my foot in, and rushed to the mirror to take a look. It felt very comfortable! I've been looking for shoes with more support and was excited to find a pair that may fit the bill. However, when I put the right shoe on, it felt noticeably tighter, to the point that the sides of the toe were digging into my foot. (Maybe my feet are different sizes but I've never encountered this issue with shoes before.) I knew then that I wouldn't be able to wear these as I was hoping! I also was not impressed with the color. Once the shoe was on, it looked very geriatric.

I love these shoes. I bought the same style years ago and decided to try them again but this some in the dark brown. The height seems a little lower this time, which is fine, but noticed. I love them, they were perfect for a full workday right out of the box I would give it 5* if they were a little hardier. While I work in an unfriendly shoe environment, first grade classroom, I was still surprised to see that they scuffed very easily. So, after wearing them two times to work I already need to oil them and I realize their days of looking great are limited. Huge bummer because I would wear them everyday.

This shoe was comfortable, but the buckle rubbed my ankle and I knew that it would hurt if I had to walk a long distance. Shoe is cute and has a soft footbed, unlike most Danskos.

just what I wanted. red, lighter wt than my Dansko clogs but , BUT these size 38s measure 3/4 " shorter than the clogs. That's only reason for my return. I hope Dansko will check size specs for these lighter wt shoes. Thanks Zappos for making the return easy.Im giving 4 stars only because they are too short.

I love the look of these shoes! I know my size in Dansko’s, and they fit me well, so these are true to size for me. I’m a little disappointed in the sole, as it’s not as heavy as I’d hoped, and faux wood grain (maybe I missed that in the description). I’m keeping them for sure, though! They are super cute with tights or alone.

The ankle strap is way too loose for me, and you can only adjust the front of it not the back. I didn't feel secure walking around because my feet shift around. Also, the side of the ankle just felt weirdly placed or too big. I want to try the Dansko Missy, but probably just need to go back to the Marcelle.
