I wore Dansko's for years but found them to be inconsistent in sizing and quality over the past years. I wore these exactly 4 times and the toe box is so scuffed up the leather is even peeling off. I have a pair of Dansko's that are 5+ years old that don't look as bad as these.I still LOVE Zappos!

Neutral, reasonably sleek styling with clunky sole. The plastic base seems cheap, though, and the top is stitched, rather than stapled. Doesn't feel as durable as classic Danskos.

The arch had a rigid bump on the outside of both feet. It would definitely cause foot pain if walking too long.

Received these with no original packaging, and schmutz/fuzz and bits of dirt in the foot bed so must assume that this pair is often returned. Ages ago I had a pair of this style that were very comfortable, but sadly these didn't fit at all. To compare, I also got the Dansko Tiffani, both in a size 38. When put side by side they look like they are the same size, but on the foot Sam feels an entire size smaller - I was getting a sort of foot 'muffin top' and my toes were nearing the end of the toe box. The Tiffani in the same size was a bit roomy, definitely felt like a true 38. Aside from quality control issues, which is sad in a shoe that costs over $120, the only other conclusion is that the shoe I was sent was not a 38 - there were no size markings anywhere on it, and the original packaging was lost.

While they fit appropriately, I found the clog base to be uncomfortable--that rigid of a sole is just not for me.

Fit is great. I wore them for 2 days with absolutely no pain in my feet. No blisters. No breaking them in. But! I've worn them twice and the toes are already scuffed pretty bad. I also noticed that the leather on the side has a cut in it and in another place, it looks almost like it's dried out about about to crack. For the money, I'm not satisfied with the quality. I'm returning them. :( I was so hesitant to spend that much money on a pair of shoes but I did it. I just expected them to hold up!

The Dansko Sam's are very cute but the fit is off somehow. I have always worn a 42 but these seem a bit small. Arch doesn't correctly on my right foot. I also feel like they would make my feet sweat without socks and that is not the look I was going for. I would like a closed toe sandals but these are stiff and might not be too comfortable wearing them all day. Unfortunately I will have to ship them back.

Stiff, shiny, and outdated. Time to give these a facelift, Dansko.

These super-cute classic Danskos are narrower than other Dansko shoes in my closet. I am disappointed and will have to return them for another brand or style.

I should have paid more attention to other reviewers. These Danskos don't seem to be the same quality as ones I have bought previously. Zappos recommended this size (I am normally a 10) and these were both too short and too narrow. Couldn't tell about arch support because I couldn't get my foot into the shoe. Disappointed.

Too firm and inflexible for me. Loved the style but not the fit.

I had these same shoes several years ago and they felt longer in the toe than these shoes. I am finding several styles of Dansko have changed to being shorter in length.

The picture indicates shoes are blue. They are actually gray. How disappointing! I was hoping for blue!

Bought these last fall and was sooooo excited bc they are super cute. Ended up returning the first pair bc they were too big. I’m either a 9.5 or a 10 and the 40s were a perfect fit. But I’m really bummed bc they are really, really uncomfortable. I don’t know if it’s bc I have pretty wide feet w bunions on either side of both feet, but the top of the shoes dig into my feet just above my toes where stitching is. I had hoped they would feel better after I broke them in but they still hurt a year later. I don’t wear them as much as I hoped I would. I’m super bummed. I waited years to buy these shoes and was so excited about them.

Sadly, I had to return the shoes. I own two other pairs in red and black. I've had them for years and they are still comfy. This time I ordered the Denim Burnished Nubuck but received a gray pair instead. Since gray was not an option, it seems to be a factory defect.

I ordered an 8 and received a Euro size 38 which was no larger than a 6.5 that I could tell. These Euro sizes are clearly not standardized well in America and people receive shoes that are the wrong size. The worst thing is that Zappos used an American size scale for the online ordering, so I suggest that Zappos take a good look at how they use them and not just use the random sizing calculations that are wildly different. I sent these back in a heartbeat and I have no idea of how to advise with regards to sizing. It seems like a free-for-all with Euro sizing.

I use a size 8 and was sent a "38" which is not even CLOSE to a size 8. Do not use the sizes advertised here, they are flat out wrong!! Sending back immediately and I want a full refund. Ridiculous.

I love danskos but this shoes were so uncomfortable,too narrow and no felt too tight from the strap, will have to return so bummed.

These are a beautiful shoe, however, i ordered a 41, and i recieved a 35/36? I am not sure- they are so tiny- look like a child's shoe.

Shoe is tight at top of foot.

Sadly, I had to return these. Also the only pair of Danskos that have resulted in severe foot and toe discomfort. I wore them around my house for part of a day and ended up with debilitating blisters. So glad I could return them, but I will have to search for another closed toe cute Dansko shoe.

Hey, Zappos! How can I review a shoe's "comfort" and "overall" WHEN IT DOES NOT FIT? I was very disappointed to receive two pairs of "Sam" Danskos that were so narrow I didn't even try to get my foot any further into it. I have bought "Sams" before--I wore one pair out entirely and replaced it, plus another I bought so long ago I can't remember the year. Both are holding up great--it's a cute and easy shoe to wear. Though Danskos aren't in wide sizes, I've always been able to wear them in and they last just about forever. Oooh, I just looked under my desk and I'm wearing the black pair now. Duh. Too bad these won't work--the red and teak are reallllly good colors.

The bottom of the shoe appears to be wood in the picture, however it is some sort of rubber with a wood grain imprint. To me they looked cheap and I thought the heel would scuff easily and get black marks on them as other rubber does. I returned them.
