I bought these pants initially to use while climbing mount kilamijaro in Africa. I used them the other day to hike in to see how they would do. I really liked having the option to use as pants or shorts. The pants come with adjustable belt Which helps. The pants are really lightweight and keep you feeling cool on those hot hikes. They also provide spf50 protection if sunburn is a problem like it is for me. I highly suggest picking up a pair of these. Very high quality you can expect from Columbia.

Bought these for my Boy Scout. Right color, worked well on a 20 mile hike. Rained and was knee deep in a gator infested swamp. These pants held up like a champ. The material is quick dry and light weight. We use these for long hikes because they're easy to pack, light weight and easy to dry on the trail. They have the option to convert to shorts; something only a young man would like.

Bringing these to Panama next week. Took them for a spin around town and they're both very comfortable and functional.

Was trying to go up a size from my normal size 32. Ordered a 34 and they fit exactly the same way as my 32's. Held them up to each other and waist band was exactly the same. Went to REI and tried a 36 and it fit perfect. I think these should be sized 32-34 and 36-38. Zappos was great about the return and even sent a shipping label!

My husband said immediately they were so comfortable and wouldn't take them off. He hikes and desperately needs the lower leg to come off. This serves him well.

I love the fit, the style, and the quality. I just went fishing and got extremely wet do to the choppy waters. By the time we got to the dock, I was completely dry.

My father had a pair of these and absolutely love them! It says they're fabulous for travel! So, the bottom second pair. Now that my husband has seen them, he wants a pair for himself!

Great pants for hot humid tropical weather. I find them quick drying and feel cool to the skin. I like the L and R labels on the lower leg zipper pulls, nice touch. As shorts they still look good, not goofy like some other convertible pants out there. I wish the cargo pockets were more like a bellows pocket, but really not a big deal. (Besides, bellows pockets would provide a snag point for bushes and thorns on trail) All in all I like them a lot, I have multiple pairs.

If you are looking for a pant that is great in the outdoors than look no further. These pants are incredibly durable, lightweight, breathable and comfortable.

When hiking here in Minnesota out in the woods I like venturing off the trails into the brush for awhile along the steams. There are allot of nasty bugs and weeds I encounter. These convertible pants keep them out and me cool with the lightweight breathable material. If they get wet they dry quickly. Size wise I encountered the 34 to be a bit small so went with the 36 waist. This size works well for me.

Needed pants for an African safari....bought 2 of these pants for the trip...great wear, drys fast, very comfortable and lightweight! Love them!

He loves them but they run small. we needed to go up a size in the waist. but they look fantastic!

Thinner than some other brands but fit is great and love the rear velcro pockets and zip side pocket. I do wish there were zippers at the ankles for easier removal when converting to shorts.

These pants fit both boys quite well. The length was perfect for both with one being 5'9" and the other 6'2". The elastic in the waist and zip-off legs are great features as they grow. They also like the quick drying material for their summer activities.

My husband loves these hiking pants. Will buy them again!

A bit snug & short for what I expected. Great lightweight pant for hiking or camping. They seem pretty durable but have only taken them out on a couple of excursions. I wish I would have gone one size up.

These pants/shorts are the bees knees!! Comfortable, perfect fit and very stylish. U can put them on wrinkled and soon after they will b smooth. I love everything abt them. I have another pair but they do not convert into shorts like these. I highly recommend these pants to anyone!! Get them u won't regret it!!

These pants have been through the best and worst conditions and they preform flawlessly. If you're looking for a pair of pants that you can wear in 90+ degree heat and still feel cool these are the pants for you. Despite receiving a few cuts from my camp knife and the occasional burn hole they have not ripped. The material is very tear resistant and once they get a slight tear they do not split. Going to order a new pair for this season.
