I love these pants. Long pants and shorts in the same pant. The most comfortable pants I have ever worn and light wait. This is the only pants I wear. Always looks good.

best pants I've ever bought. They wear well, dry fast when wet and have ample pockets to secure wallet etc. Good fit too. Very fine quality fabric. Will never wear anything else. I have 4 pair, will buy more.

I'm a vertical endurance hiker who backpacks over 1,500 miles a year, at a incline of over 75 miles of elevation change. I purchased one pair of of the MEN'S PFG BLOOD AND GUTS CONVERTIBLE PANTS 3 years ago... and wore them on every hike, for the past three (3) years. I finally was forced to retire them, only after accidentally washing the pair of pants with a pack of gum... and unfortunately, the gum won. However, it really makes you wonder how much longer that amazing pair of pants would have gone. In the winter, I put thermals under them, while blazing through chest high snow, up in the Northern Arizona mountains. I also took advantage of the convertible feature, by wearing them as shorts, when I hiked the warm, humid mountains of the Hawaiian Island of Maui. However, I recently noticed that Columbia changed the design features of the MEN'S PFG BLOOD AND GUTS CONVERTIBLE PANT. It now appears that the MEN'S SILVER RIDGE CONVERTIBLE PANT has adopted & incorporated all those wonderful features of the former PFG model... such as the zipper pocket. Therefore, I just purchased and received two pair of the SILVER RIDGE, to replace my former PFG and am now a fan of the MEN'S SILVER RIDGE CONVERTIBLE PANT. Best Pair of Pants... Ever!

Bought these for an 8 day hike in the high Sierra. Held up great in fact looked great when I exited the trail despite not having been washed. Only used the zip off feature a couple of times but zippers work great and love how they are identified right and left. Saw weather from rain to hail to snow to bright warm sun. Seemed to dry fast while wearing and did great wicking perspiration. The legs did get saturated once and did not dry so well hanging in my tent but that could have been due just as much to weather conditions. Material held up very well despite scrambling over granite and fallen trees. Excellent product

I've had two pairs of these amazing convertibles. They are light and breathable as well as about as stylish as you can get for convertible pants. The only complaint I have is that some of the stitching on the back pockets and crotch area begin to unravel after heavy wear. I have been on the road for over a year and tried many other travel/hiking pants. None of them even come close to these.

Great pants for fly fishing, quick drying and the muck comes off in the wash after a long weekend of fishing and camping. Great to have pants/shorts option. And....they are really comfortable pants to wear in the office too, better than my jeans.

These are the best travel pants. Quick dry, stain resistant, convert to shorts, zipper pocket for cash or wallet, flap side pocket for maps, wrinkle free, very small storage, and rip resistant. All the pockets are so functional. I can't find a better pair of pants for all around use. They even look decent for eating out.

I am an avid golfer and fisherman and these pants provide me with the option to convert to shorts when the weather warms up and the reverse when weather turns colder. They dry quickly and are very comfortable and durable. I have many in my wardrobe.

I bought two pairs for hiking the Inca Trail. I was initially concerned because the material seemed very thin but they held up great and were warm enough for cool early mornings. I carried my cell phone and a camera in a cargo pocket comfortably. The mosquitoes were bad so I never zipped off the legs and can't comment on that feature. They come with a nylon belt that clips which I took off and my 1" leather belt fit through the loops without problem.

Luv these pants.. light weight great for warm/hot weather BUT they need extra belt loops to prevent belt from riding up over pant in the hip areas! I luv the belt BUT the pant needs an extended loop that's 3 to 4 inches wide in the hip area which will also keep the belt from turning. Constantly, one has to hold the belt in place and make sure it has not turned with a loop off-setting the front connection making difficulty for initial fitting! Other than these complaints, they are great pants!

Reducing space is essential for long trips if the goal is to only have a carry on bag and no checked bag. Converting pants do the trick with one garment taking the space of two. No more checked luggage for me!

I bought these for my husband who is a Land surveyor. He works outside in the hot Florida heat. He originally did not even want to try them on as they were not his usual brand. Once he wore the first pair to work- he is sold on them. He loves them!! They are light weight but durable. They move with him and he does not feel constricted at all. I just bought two more pairs for him and two for my son who is also a land surveyor.

I do landscape work for a living, and we are required to wear khaki colored pants. I have searched many brands and recently bought these. To-date, I am happy. One big requirement for me that these pants met was zip and/or top flap pockets. So many pants have open top pockets, which are debris catchers in my line of work. They are great in hot temps, "breathe" well, and the ability to remove the lower pant legs and have instant shorts is a big plus. I have not worn them in cooler temps and have some doubts, given they are a thinner, breathable material. But for moderate to hot temps, I like them. I also wonder how they will wear at the knee, as I bend to knees often. TBD.

These pants are classy and accommodating. The fabric as soft and breathable, yet sturdy. Columbia is classy, I like the small details such as the little Columbia sign on the cargo zipper pocket.
