These are so cute, I'm so sad I have to return them! I measured the widest part of my calf (16") which is not, incidentally, directly below my knee, where the widest part of this boot is. I can only zip them up to my calf muscle, and then - not even close. Oh well.

I mistook an earlier review to mean that this boot was actually designated as Wide Calf. When they got here I was worried because I was unable to zip them up without the help of a shoelace threaded through the hole of the zipper pull to give me some extra leverage. I am one of those people who was born with wide calves and its been my enemy with boots for my entire life. After squeezing into them once and deciding to take a bullet in the name of fashion and wear them for the day anyway, I was pleasantly surprised that they stretched out enough to be plenty comfortable. From that day on I have been able to wear them without needing a tool to help zip them up, and even was able to get them on over a pair of skinny jeans. Adorable! The one critique I have is that occasionally the zipper gets caught in its own lining when they are unzipping, which can lead to a few minutes of panic thinking that I am going to either have to cut them off or live the rest of my life with this boot on. A few minutes of zipping all the way up and down to where it is stuck a couple of times and squeezing a finger into the zipper as you unzip to help guide the inner lining away from getting stuck eventually does the trick, but there is definitely a design flaw with the extra flap of lining surrounding the zipper on the inside of the boot.

I really love these boots. They are very attractive and comfortable. They can be a bit tight around the calf, especially if you aren't wearing skinny jeans, but they are still comfortable.

I love theses boots! I struggle to find comfortable, stylish shoes and boots and these do both! Comfortable right out of the box for all day wear (what I need for work). I highly recommend these boots!

Just received these boots and they are great. Very comfortable, true to size. I have a 15 1/2 inch calf and these fit just right. Wouldn't want them any smaller but I can tuck my jeans and leggings in and they aren't too tight. Very happy!

These boots were stunning right out of the box, but after putting them on, not quite as much. Pros are the gorgeous color and detail, the item description is accurate,this boots fit my 15¾" calves and still zipped up over skinny jeans. The footbed was comfortable for the heel height. Cons: these boots slouch badly at the ankle even if your calfs fill the shaft. This bunching is not just unsightly it is cumbersome to walk in. The construction was not consistent on both boots. The sole attachment of one was visibly different on the other boot. I almost loved them, but sadly they were returned. These would be a nice addition to a boot collection, but not the star of the show.

I live in New York so I walk everywhere, and I am always walking and standing on hard cement. I get so tired of carrying my "cute" shoes and wearing my comfort shoes and stopping to change before I arrive. I have NOT needed to do any of that since I got these boots. I wore them all over the city the very first day out and I had no blisters or pain. They are wide at the ball of the foot so you can walk for miles. Also, I wear a size 10 but these make my feet look like a size 6. They are super flattering. I love all the straps around the base. Gives you a slightly edgy look on which I have gotten many compliments from men and women. The leather feels and looks high quality. For me the heel is the perfect height to give a bit of sass without making anything ache. I have a new best friend!

Exactly what I was looking for! I was on a mission to find a cute pair of boots that were stylish but still comfortable. I looked in stores first, but just didn't find what I wanted. I finally found a few pairs on Zappos that I liked, and ordered them to try on and compare. This is the pair I'm keeping. They were comfortable from the moment I put them on. The heel is perfect...not too high to be uncomfortable, but just high enough to look cute. The top of the boot comes up to just below my knee. I have a "regular" size calf...I work out, so they are by no means skinny, but I do not have a wide calf. Anyhow, the calf portion fits me perfectly with skinny jeans on.

These were the pair of boots I exchanged for after getting a different pair first, and I am very happy with my choice. I was looking for comfy boots with a heel that I could work in and then dress up or down, as the situation dictates - and these are those boots. Success! I definitely recommend them.

I LOVE these boots! I've gotten so many compliments. I have fairly wide calves and they fit perfectly. They are comfortable enough to wear all day and all night. They look cute over skinny jeans and leggings and even with a dress.

This is a beautiful boot! I wish I did not have to return mine. I usually wear a 7.5 and this ran just a little too small-I checked half size smaller because it's the only option. My toes were not crowded due to the rounded tip, but they were pressing against the front. Unfortunately, there are no 8s available. I loved the quality of the leather, heel height and overall style!

These boots look awesome but are not all that comfortable. I was hoping for a stylish boot that I could wear throughout the day.

Super comfortable and stylish boots. I have a wide calf and these are very roomy, I was able to wear them over jeans without stressing the zipper! I can't wait for fall to wear them!

I have worn these boots about 5 times so far. They are very comfortable! However, after the 2nd time wearing them I noticed some of the stitching at the top on one boot came loose. There was also a small scuff mark on one of the boots. It is only noticeable under close scrutiny but for the price I was surprised. Ultimately, I would buy these again on sale.

These were a really nice looking boot - good quality leather, made well. They were nice and roomy in the toes, a little arch support and and pretty comfy for being 2.5 inch heels. Problem is they're not wide calf. I have 16.5 inch calf, size 9 and I couldn't zip these up. Bummer!

These were very cute and comfortable. The only problem was in the shaft circumference. Based on 8½ being 16". I decided to order a 7½ where I did not expect such a big difference, but I could not get them zipped. I was so sad! They were exactly what I was looking for except for the calf.

Really pretty boot, and the fit would have been okay, but it was obviously assembled incorrectly, and the insole was completely askew in the left boot - rendering it unwearable. The top-stitching on the right toe was visually defective, which was to me not acceptable for this high of a purchase. I have another pair of Lassens I love, so this is a big disappointment. The quality is not the same with this pair - they are going back.

Absolutely beautiful style, great construction and excellent comfort. The top is little tight on a 17 inch calf, yet I had no problem zipping them up. I am hopeful that it will stretch a bit with time. In my opinion, a small expansion gusset at the top would be ideal. Even so, I love the boots.

This is a great boot. I get compliments all the time. The only issue with the style is that the heel strap does sink low and the strap is thin so I'm slightly worried about long-term wear and tend to take off my right boot when I drive (I usually do this anyway with all shoes).

Great boot! Fit my calf and the little bit of heel is really feminine. However, the strap that is attached to the buckle is really saggy and kept falling to below the ankle. Returning for a different pair and hoping for a better outcome.

I ordered these boots last night after much deliberation about whether to order these or the extra wide Jessops. I was concerned that these would not be wide enough for my calves or that the extra wide would be too wide. I read all the comments, took a chance, and lucked out. They arrived in less than 24 hours and had that wonderful smell of real leather. The boots were comfortable from the moment I put my foot into them. They were a bit tight on my calves (16.5) when zipping up but soon were comfortable. I am excited about wearing them out! Thanks, Zappos, for the great service!

I have the same boots in the rich Tan color. I stand on my feet all day doing hair with bad knees, I found the heel to be the right height yet very much in vogue. I loved them so much I asked for the black pair for my birthday. My son just ordered them for me! I have a large 15 1/2 inch calf and the fit like a dream. I can fit my straight leg jeans in them with no problem. The leather smell right out of the box smelled like money! I would recommend these fashionable boots in any color. I've had no problem with my zipper on the other boots. I did find a trick when a boot is a bit too tight on a leg. I raise my foot up in the air while zipping my boot. Then after a few wearings they will give and mold to your calf. I love the stitching around the toe just for a different edge.

I would call these beautifully made boots a fusion of "Equestrienne meets Western" I wore my boots for the first time to work. I'm a hairstylist and was so comfortable in them! Plenty of room through the toe. Heel high enough to be stylist yet low enough to be comfortable. From the moment I walked into the salon my boots were complimented as well as how I looked in them. I have large calves 15 1/2"'s and 5'1" tall. There was just enough room to tuck my jeans in. These are my 6th pair of boots from Zappos. I know there will be many more to be purchased. I have a Birthday in a month and asked Hubby if he'd buy me these boots in black. That's how much I love the comfort and style of these well made Lassen Leather Boots at a great price!

I have these boots in the black as well as the tan color, and I love love love these boots! I have an average calf, too wide for skinny boots and not quite big enough to fill out super wide calf boots so these were perfect. They are a bit snug with chunky socks or think jeans, but still wearable. The boots will stretch out a bit with wear as I noticed last winter with my black pair. The heel is perfect for a shorter woman (I'm 5''1'!) but still have the trendy equestrian look. The boots literally go with everything and I get at least on compliment every time I wear them! Great buy, and I would but a pair again!
