I LOVE these boots. After searching for the perfect riding boot, this was the best yet. Perfect fit on my skinny calves. The only problem is there is too much leather and weird bunching around the ankle. I'm so sad about this, and about having to return them (thank you Zappos for making it easy though). These boots are otherwise perfect.

I really like these boots a lot! I have really skinny legs and these fit so nicely. They allow me to wear them alone without looking like my legs are bonier than they are and not swallowed by the boot. Flamingo leg is not hot. To give a better idea how the calf is - I am wearing them right now with leggings and if I put a thumb on both sides to pull them up I can feel a slight bit of tension with the leather. There is hardly room for me to wear a heavier pair of skinny jeans. They are narrow too - so be warned. I have really narrow feet and a high arch and the sides will not allow for any more room; I am glad that I ordered up a size. I am 7½ normally and bought an 8. With boot socks I can stretch them out a little. They are pretty tall. From the dip at the top of the boot, I measure 6" to the center of my knee. I bought the Cognac Pressed Nubuck and they look so good. Definitely a more rugged look and so versatile. I thought by the image they would have more of a suede texture but it is smooth and polished. Not a bad thing I just was not expecting it. Overall I love them!

Love. Beautiful boot. Should of ordered a 1/2 size larger. Super narrow. I was so excited to wear them, I convinced myself they would be fine. I should have just returned them...and sized up! That being said, they did stretch and break in. Still hurt a little.

I just got these and I love them! I wore them last night to make certain they were just right and they were. I wear either a 7.5 or 8 depending on maker. I ordered an 8 because that is my size in most boots. The reviews can be confusing, but if you have a high instep as I do, then don't size down. Gorgeous leather. They are nice and tall and hold that great shape.

I love this boot. I'm hard to fit- narrow heel, slightly wider at the toe, size anywhere from 8 to 9-1/2 depending. At first I thought these were too tight, but after wearing them a while, they did stretch and I wish I'd gotten them even smaller. The tabs at the top sometimes catch on other clothes, would prefer plain top.

I'm 5'2 and width in calf area was perfect. I have muscular calves and these boots fit fine. Boots look great with jeans or with more dressy attire.

I love these boots! I wanted them for two years and got them for Christmas, finally! The black suede is so soft and supple. They do run super small in the shaft (that is what kept me from getting them sooner). But my cobbler was able to stretch and they fit perfectly. So glad I finally got them.

A beautifully made boot, top quality leather...love the heel that is both stylish and functional. A bit pricey but you pay for what you get, well worth the investment, I know they will last a long, long time. Can definitely walk a mile (or two) in these boots! you will not be disappointed. Suggest ordering half-a-size larger than normal wear.

They are perfect. True to size. I went up a half size on the brown bc I knew I would wear them with pants and I sized down in the black to wear with dresses. :)

Got these boots for Christmas and loved them as much in person as I did while coveting them online! Typically I am a size 8 in tennis shoes/flats and wear a 7.5 in heels -- I actually got two pairs of these boots from two different people; one was a size 7.5 and one was a size 8. The 7.5s were a tad snug, but fit, and the 8s were immediately more comfortable but my heel slipped quite a bit. I spent a day wearing the 7.5s around the house to see how they would do and ended up choosing them over the 8s. In the 7.5s the toe box was a bit snug the first 4 times I wore them, though not tight enough to limit the wearing; I wore them the full day each time I put them on. My heel does still slip a little bit when I walk, but it has not caused a blister or any discomfort. It could be that the boots aren't the best fit for my foot? I've worn the Jackie's probably 7 full days at this point and the toe box has stretched to fit my foot much better. The heel is nigh enough to make you feel like you're wearing a little extra rather than a flat, but I have had no problems wearing them all day from the first time I put them on; very comfortable boots. The shaft is wide enough to fit around my skinny jeans without any issues, and they also look cute with a dress and bare legs. I do not typically have a problem with shafts of boots fitting my calves, I would say my calves are pretty average in size (not super muscular). I got the smooth leather and there is very minimal slouching at the ankle.

These boots are wonderful. They were so comfortable right out of the box that I bought both the black and brown pairs! I have relatively slender calfs so they fit perfectly over my skinny jeans. They are true to size, elegant and timeless as well as lined with a soft leather - very well made. I will be wearing these boots for years to come. By the way, I just wore them running around in Manhattan - there was no rubbing but they looked and felt great.

Love this boot in Soft Black and want to keep it, but the right boot needs some breaking in. I need a black boot that I can wear for dress and casual, and this fits the bill. I have the Cognac Pressed Nubuck and it fit perfect right out of the box, so I had high hopes of achieving the same result with these. I ordered another pair in the same size and color in hopes the other pair of Soft Black will fit as well as well as the Nubuck. I normally wear a 9 , but the 9 is perfect in these. I Love Zappos VIP!

The Cognac Pressed Nubuck is amazing. I love the color, love the look, and love the fit. It fit perfect right out of the box. It has some markings on it from the boot being folded a bit at the top during shipping, but they have a great deal of character anyway so it may not matter. They have a rustic, farm girl look. Hopefully not too much for the city, I will need to consult my daughters, but I think these are keepers. I normally wear a 9, but the 9 is perfect in these. I Love Zappos VIP!

Love the boot, but have to return it. The right boot is just not comfortable, the left is amazing and both boots fit amazing in some of the other colors I ordered. I am reordering the same boot, same color, same size in hopes of finding a comfortable pair in this color. I have been wearing a size 9 1/2 in other boots lately, but in this I had to downsize to a 9.

Beautiful boot, wrong fit. I'm afraid that if I actually wore this lovely boot for more than 1 hour, I'd cut off circulation to my feet! Darn my muscular calves! Maybe in my next life!

Beautiful boots, but if you have slim calves, even these are a bit too wide. There is still that concern that I look like I'm standing in a manhole. These are better than most. guess I really need boots with zippers at the ankles.

These are beautiful boots! I bought 1/2 size smaller, which usually works for me and boots. Not this time. I will try the 8 - and hope they have a wide foot size (but not wide calf - not likely). I hate to say it, but back they go.

Absolutely beautiful with buttery leather. Returned because they weren't exactly the style I wanted but if you like a bit of a western look they would be amazing.

I am obsessed with Frye boots.They are my all time favorite! If I won the lottery, I would buy every pair of boots Frye makes. They are the most comfortable, well made, and most stylish boots I have ever owned (and I own a lot of boots). I own several pairs of Frye boots and the Jackie Button and Paige Tall Riding Boots are my favorites. If you are on the fence, do not hesitate to buy them, they are worth every penny!

I am a true blue Frye girl. This is my 5th pair. They're definitely a luxury, but you can't beat the quality! My first pair of Fryes I got in 2008 and I've literally worn them in snow, rain, etc. (I live in Colorado) and I have yet to have the heel replaced. They're just amazing quality boots and I need shoes that can hold up in any type of weather! I already had the Frye Jackie in black but lusted after the Congac and knew I wanted a pair in that color. It just looks gorgeous in person! I'm 5'3 and although I have the Frye Melissa (which I love), I prefer a boot with a heel to give me a boost. These boots run very slim in the leg, just a warning! I love wearing them with tights, leggings or skinny jeans, but for a more wide legged boot I would recommend the Frye Jane. As always, Zappos is incredible and my order took a few days to go through, but once it did I received my order the next day! This boot is gorgeous in all colors!

Very beautiful boot! A classy everyday boot with the right amout of height. Looks good with skinny jeans, leggings and dresses. I'm 5 3" and 120 pounds and the calf fit perfectly.

I love these boots! They fit me like they were custom made. I couldn't be any happier with them. But, I do have thin calves so someone with a wider calf might not like them as much.

This is my new favorite boot! It's very comfortable and looks stylish, with just enough heel. I've been wearing them with jeans and leggings very frequently. I agree with other reviewers that the calf felt a little bit narrow when I first tried them on but it seems to have loosened up a bit with wear and I can slip them on and off easily now. I'm so glad I bought these boots!
