I just wear these, despite the cleats, in NYC every day, to work out in the gym and throughout the day, bad weather or not. They're stable on hard flat surfaces too and they look awesome and seem to keep out water and snow. And they generate compliments too. And they're not that expensive considering their high tech personality. They also fit my feet really well, are always comfortable and are very light. Highly recommend. There's a blizzard in NYC right now and I'm about to wear these to the gym in the snow and I'll wear them in the gym too.

These shoes have been a blessing in the climate I run. I use these shoes to run in the snow, slush, and cold. These shoes keep my feet warm and dry, but best of all they have tremendous grip. No more running on the treadmill during a snowstorm!

Salomon shoes are bomb-proof! I through-hiked the continental divide trail this summer, and despite reports from other hikers of needing 5-6 pairs of shoes, a single pair of speedcross 3s lasted me the final 1400 miles of the trail through the entire states of Colorado and New Mexico. And they are still in usable condition, though the tread in high wear areas is basically gone. The only visible wear to the upper consists of one small rip in each shoe around the ball of the foot, each less than an inch long, and a bit of delamination of the toe but not affecting the performance of the shoe. This is after hiking through hundreds of miles of prickly desert and hundreds of miles of snowy, rocky Colorado trails. I used another pair of trail runners for just 700 miles in Montana and the entire uppers were completely trashed. The build of these shoes is incredible, and they are comfortable out of the box. Great in snow and mud compared to other trail runners and many hiking boots. My only complaint if I had to nitpick is that I prefer shoes with a less aggressive heel-to-toe drop (I think these are 9mm, I'd like to stay in the 4-6 range as it's easier on my shin-area tendons when hiking 30 or more miles on a daily basis) and would prefer slightly better ventilation so they'd dry a bit quicker. However, the big heel/toe drop is intentional as the shoe is intended for speed, so that's just personal preference, and the bullet-proof build is worth a slight sacrifice in ventilation. I am going to try the fellcross or s-labs next for a similar shoe with a slightly lower profile and heel/toe drop. If you like the fit of Salomon shoes and don't have particularly wide feet, definitely give these a shot. Loved them!

Fits 1/4 to 1/2 size small. Lacing system slightly difficult to finely adjust, although the fit wraps the foot preventing slippage. Grip is excellent on soft surfaces including dirt, mud, sand, snow. Lugs feel sloppy on hard pack. Sole is cushioned and protective enough for rocky terrain.

I was able to hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu with a 25 lb. pack right out of the box. These are great shoes. I started hiking in trail running shoes for their lightness and lack of need for any break in time. The tread is great on dirt where it can bite in, but not so good on wet rock.

My son asked for these for Christmas and is very happy with them. Fit great and look awesome. It was our first order from Zappos. Customer service was great. Definitely won't be our last.

This is my second pair of Salomon Speedcross 3. Super comfortable. Great heel support and the speed laces provide a snug fit. I love this shoe. Only complaint: the tread isn't durable. If you wear the shoes around town, or run on asphalt, they wont last 2 months. In all fairness, this is a trail shoe, but so comfy that I want to wear it everywhere. The tread doesn't last long for me. The colors are a bit aggressive, but I'm in the shoe for awesome support and comfort, not look. I will continue to buy them.

These shoes are now my #1 pick for trail running. I spent all summer trying to decide what shoes to run in for my first Rim 2 Rim at the Grand Canyon, which means I now have 6 different pairs of trail shoes. I bought the Speedcross 3's 2 weeks before R2R, and I literally ran only 2 short trails in them at home prior to my trip. I covered over 25 miles in them on R2R, and they were awesome! I put them on that morning, snugged them up, tucked away the lacing, and I never had to adjust them the entire day while running the canyon. That's running switchbacks, with an elevation change of almost 11000 feet. I couldn't be happier about this trail shoe. I run in neutral cushioned road shoes, usually ones with a heel drop of 8-11mm. The Speedcross 3's felt very similar for me, so I was comfortable in them, and I didn't feel like there was any issue with lateral instability. I'm 49, and I run about 25-30 miles weekly. About half of my mileage is on trails.

An amazing shoe. Feels like a sneaker, but way more rugged. My son will not be able to wear these out before he grows out of them!

Wore them on a 12 mile trail/road run during heavy rain right out of the box. Awesome. Great traction off road, and no problem transitioning to road. Needed size 12. Normally wear 11. 11.5 would've worked, but going down hill toes get pressed against front of shoe. Also plan on using in winter with wool socks. Removable inner sole slid and bunched up as well. Took it out and just as comfortable. Great trail shoe. Extremely durable.

I wore Brooks for years, until I discovered these rascals. These shoes are built better, lighter, and the arch support is outstanding. The laces are a cord which you can adjust, so no loose strings. Outstanding traction control on the bottom of the shoe. So far, I have an average of 70 miles on them and they wear just as great as the day I took them out of the box. Overall, a great shoe, two thumbs up to Salomon on this model.

I've been using these on a steep incline/decline course for over a month. These shoes give great support and I have yet to slip on the unstable surface.

These are absolutely amazing. Really soft and great color (Grey). They are very rugged and grip the surfaces like a gecko - a little wobbly on water, but hey what isn't? Really comfortable right out of the box. Took them to Alaska and were amazing for hiking! Run a little small/ tight in the front, so go up half/ one size.

I purchased a pair specifically for working the PGA Championship. I was extremely pleased. They arrived Wednesday. I wore them for 8 hours on Thursday and again of Friday, but then I wore them for 14 hours Saturday, 16 hours Sunday, and 14 hours Monday (tear down). I easily put many miles on them these past few days. My feet still feel good, they style matches the occasion and I received several inquiries on where I got them. The question of long term durability is still an open question but by all other accounts I am extremely pleased with them.

Great hiking shoe. I don't care for the typical hiking boot. The great grip on the rock and water repellent make this the perfect day hiking shoe. Easy on and off lacing is a plus!

I've been wearing Speedcross 3s for 3 years now, all day, 365 days a year. Extremely comfortable and breathable. I love the no-lace system. That's what enticed me into buying Salomon shoes the first time. I'm not a runner. My exercise comes from biking and hockey, so I can't comment on them as training shoes.

These shoes are great for the price. I have been buying them for 3 or 4 years, probably two dozen pairs for myself and many as gifts for friends who admire them. Always high quality. New designs and colors frequently, but the fit and build stay the same.

After returning the size 11's for 11.5's I have a perfect fit! Note - These shoes do run a half size too small, order 1/2 size larger. Zappos' customer service cannot be topped by anyone!

These shoes are simply amazing! Absolute best shoes for cross-training, trailing running, hiking, mountain biking etc. They were the most vital piece of equipment I had during a Tough Mudder race! I use them for downhill mountain biking. The cleats give great grip on the petals. They are amazing for hiking and trailing running. Supreme comfort and utility. Buy them!

I bought these shoes for a Tough Mudder and they didn't disappoint! Course was extremely hilly and the treads provided excellent maneuverability up and down the slopes. Very light and didn't hold too much water. They also cleaned up very well and still look fairly new.

I ordered the Speedcross 3s for the Spartan Sprint. When I received them they fit perfectly right out of the box. Did a trail run the same day with my son and didn't slip once. The trail was wet and had slippery rocks that were easily conquered. Running up or down steep hills was a breeze and I felt safer in these shoes. Easy clean up afterwards. Still look like new. I have flat feet and overpronate so I wasn't sure how these formfitting shoes would feel. Well, I am telling you that my feet felt great during and after the run. Amazing comfort. They run true to size but I did order a 10 and 10.5 just to be sure. My normal size 10 was perfect! 10.5 going back. If you want to properly measure your foot size for these shoes, go to salomon.com and navigate to the footwear section. Pick your shoe and the instructions are there as you scroll down. Can't wait to run the Spartan Sprint in these. One last thing, these shoes look awesome! My boys love the mean look! I bought the black ones. Enjoy!

Best pair of shoes I've owned to date. Very comfortable right out of the box. Breath very well yet tight enough to keep sand and dust out. I also learned to my surprise this weekend that they are relatively waterproof. I dunked the toe of the shoe up to the front laces accidentally in the water and not a drop came through. I wear these shoes for everything, they do have a great off road tread but are perfectly fine for everyday use. Also an excellent shoe for recreational baseball if you don't like wearing cleats.

I ordered two pair of the men's Speedcross 3 for my sons (different colors of course, because you cannot look like your brother). They both were very happy with them right out of the box. Both find them very 'cool' and very comfortable. They needed trail shoes for a mid-July camping trip where they will be walking three hours per day for over a week and they think these will be perfect. They are better than mesh sneakers because dirt goes right through mesh and these are a nice tight weave.

Okay, so I have only run in these once thus far, and that was two miles of moderately aggressive trail running. First impression is that these shoes are awesome and super comfortable. They made it a breeze to run up muddy and dry loose soil hills, and held just as well going down. Grip well on rocks and other obstacles as well. I have been hesitant to run on anything paved though as I feel like it will wear down the tread really quickly. Bought these for Tough Mudder and I think they will do the trick.

Salomon makes a hell of a shoe. Excellent materials, excellent built quality. These shoes will outlast most any other running shoe. I usually go through a pair of running shoes every 2 months, and the only other running shoe I've had last longer was a pair of Vibram Fivefingers. Also of note- love the Boa lacing system.
