Love these boots! They were extremely comfortable right away. I really like the color. I got these in dark brown vintage leather. I ordered in both a 7.5 and 8 as I am between these sizes. I kept the 8's as these were perfect with a thicker sock as well as a thin sock. Definitely would recommend these!

Perfection! These boots are pure perfection. They were comfortable right out of the box. No break in required. The color is a gorgeous chocolate brown. The back zipper is sexy and very easy to get up and down. I do not have very thick calves, but I also prefer to have enough room to have a cute wool sock peek out of the top and these are perfect for that. I am a 7½-8 in shoes. I ordered an 8 and they fit perfectly. This is the fourth pair of Fryes that I ordered from Zappos. I love them all. I do not think there is a better quality boot made. I highly recommend them!

I ordered cognac and these boots are beautiful! They fit perfectly with just enough room for thicker socks if I wanted on colder days. I debated about getting the zip back or the regular Melissa Button and and am so glad I went with the zipper because they are easy to get on/off. Next on my list to get are the black ones!

These boots are wonderful! I have owned them for three years and they just keep getting better with age. They were comfortable from day one with no breaking in. I did order a 91/2 instead of my usual 10 based on reviews. They fit like a glove all over. The style is very classic and timeless. I own three other pairs of Frye boots but these are the ones I wear the most. They are perfect for work and go nicely from day to evening. Frye boots are definitely worth the price as they will serve you well for years to come.

Love these boots!! I have wide calfs and I didn't think these would fit, they are very snug, but I kind of like them like that. The color is beautiful and the leather is very thick and strong. I will wear this regularly for many years to come. Obsessed!

Love! These boots are beautiful! Very soft leather, very comfortable, and fit perfectly. There is even enough room for me to put in my orthotic arch supports which make a huge difference for me. These are cute with jeans, leggings, and skirts/dresses. I will be ordering more pairs in different colors. These will definitely last me a lifetime!

I absolutely love these boots. Soft, supple and high quality. I agree with another reviewer that they run a about a half size big. Since they are 100% leather, including the lining, they wll stretch a bit after wearing. They are a little narrow through the calf, which is why I loved them. I am 5'8" and weigh 135 lbs. I have really skinny calves, so am always looking for a narrower shaft. These are perfect for me. I sent two other pairs of boots back because they were too large through the calf.

Beautiful leather boot, but footbed was too narrow at the toe area and slipped at the heel. I am shipping back but I will go to retail showroom to try on in order to find the right size.

I was hesitant in purchasing these boots. After wearing them for a couple of months, I love them. They fit perfectly. They don’t slouch. I wear them with jeans and also at the office with dresses/skirts. The bottom is slippery at first, just walk around outside and they will scratch up and have better grip.

I had been eyeing these boots for a while, but spending this much money on a pair of shoes is not something I normally do. I took the plunge and I have had zero regrets since buying them. I loved them the moment I put them on and I have had people stop me on the street to tell me how beautiful these boots are. I went with the Cognac color which is darker than the picture shows. Frankly, I think they look better than in the picture. Normally it takes a while for me to break in shoes, but I haven't really had to break these in at all. I brought these boots with me when I went on vacation and I walked around a city for several days in them and I didn't get a single blister or sore spot. The one complaint (and it's not even much of a complaint) is that the button closure at the top covering the zipper often comes unbuttoned if I cross my legs or am getting out of a car seat. I don't notice that it has come undone until I start walking and I hear the metal clicking. This isn't enough for me to take away any stars because the positives far outweigh this, but I do wish the snap was a little more secure. Overall, this is an incredible, timeless boot that is well worth the investment.

Beautiful boot! I've looked for the perfect boot for 2 years, probably ordered well over 12 pairs from Zappos only to return them…until now! Exactly what I've been looking for!

I really wanted these boots to work! Love the leather - top quality - butter soft. 2 issues I just could not get around - the soles are so slick I was having trouble just walking from the bedroom to the kitchen. (I could have worked around this one by going to the local boot repair shop I am sure.) But the deal breaker was the heel to footbed transition - there was a section there that I just could not get past. When putting this much money into a boot... Thanks to Zappos for letting me have choices!

I really wanted to love these boots. The leather is gorgeous. The look is classic. The zipper end is covered so it will not tear on tights or hose. But, they were not comfortable. Some inserts in the heel showed a seam, and I could feel it, like a bump between the heel and the rest of the foot. Too bad! Maybe just these particular boots are the problem.

Loved them but since I am quite short and have narrow calves, these were too tall and loose around the calves for me.

These boots fit perfect and look great with pencil skirts to skinny jeans. I wear a 6.5 and they fit me perfect, not slouchy and enough room to tuck in my jeans.

I typically wear a 7.5 and they fit great! If you are wanting for a more classic look without buckles, these are perfect. I consider myself having a larger muscular calf, and they fit perfectly, and even stretched out just enough for a perfect fit. Be care on the wet snow as they have a smooth bottom and no rubber grip. Beside that they are the perfect boot...can't wait to get another pair!

I loved these boots, but they were a little too narrow for my medium width foot. Frye makes a beautiful boot. I'm sad!

The Melissa Button Back Zip is the perfect solution for those who struggle with pull-on boots. After returning the Melissa Button pull-on, I was delighted to see that there was an equivalent in style, color and the Frye class - but with a human-friendly zipper. I have fairly narrow calves (boots tend to swim on me), but these fit perfectly and are slim looking. I expect to have these for seasons to come, if they are true to the Frye quality I am used to.
